I sent a letter back in 2014 with an Ecuadorian bag and two weeks ago I got my reply. To be honest for the first 2 years I just thought that I'd never get a reply and later I just forgot. So it was lovely when I got my mail and suddenly there was an envelope with a dragon and a Carrie stamp. It totally made my day. So if you are still waiting, don't worry it's worth it. Your section on Envy in the video was great. I went through a very bad stage of jealous and envy of a couple of friends and that was because I was had no confidence and a rubbish place. I’ve even removed myself from social networks sites, so I wouldn’t see how amazing there lives were compared to mine. I love my friends to bits and I’m lucky to have them and I’ve now changed and things are better but I do still get jealous (which I guess is normal) but the way you described it made so much sense. Anyone out there who gets jealous etc just remember your time will come and don’t give up.

Comparing myself to others all the time is not a positive or productive thing to do - I am the one in my car, going on this journey. Really wonderful video Carrie! Thanks also for the piece about comparing to others and envy! That was something I really connected with that I'd like to share why- I haven't been lucky enough to have been cast in anything so far in the musical theatre society at university when friends of mine have and I've gone 'what did I get so wrong' and 'was I so bad at my audition?' but I was lucky enough to join the production team of those shows! and I realised that I was still part of it and being a green monster wasn't going to do anything but take me somewhere that I'd struggle to come back from! People have said to me that they look to me for positivity when get in and dress rehearsals are stressful and they're not feeling so mentally okay as they could be; which feels so so humbling. I still have hope for the future

Your advice about finding the characters was so spot-on. When I was in a local production of Les Mis, our Javert had played the part in a different production. It was incredibly difficult to get him to re-find the character with us, because he was so dead-set on recreating the character from the other production. Finally, he realized it just wasn't working and he started reacting to the rest of the cast better (though the habit didn't seem to break entirely). It made the show less jarring, for sure!

You know, I was actually watching Tom’s video of when he and Gi were writing their 2nd book for Eve of Man, and it actually inspired me to write a little bit as well. And it’s actually true that you have those two options! So, that’s what I’m doing rather than just being jealous with envy. And especially when you, Tom, and Gi talk about writing and such like that I am a bit inspired to write my own things! Hahaha! And do your own thing, Carrie, just care what you’re doing and no one else! Don’t care what people think, it’s really what you think about yourself and what you care about yourself and such!
