Always loved playing ZZ Top. I love their music and it's a good time to sit back, with nothing too challenging on the bass, and enjoy your guitar player getting in some great blues licks.

Another fantastic annotated bass cover Paul!!! I love that you do these simple bass lines. As you said, these songs are a great workout for any bassist to build timing and stamina. There may not be a lot of notes to play, but these types of bass lines are not easy. Thanks for sharing this one.

This one finger technique gives a good consistency. Like downpicking with a pick. If you see some late black sabbath lives you will see Geezer Butler doing the same.

Nice playing. The switch from C to Bb in the verses should come one 8th note sooner, for example on the last 8th note of bar #15.

Not as easy as it appears. The timing needs to be perfect otherwise it sounds like a train wreck
Fun fact- if you'll play this song with 2 fingers instead of 1, it will be much easier
fun fact - 1 finger sounds better on bass lines like this one.
@@alomon7738 fun fact- if you are good player 2 fingers sounds like 1 and nobody gives a difference while you are playing. But in this video difference between some notes is criminal. If i was a music producer i'd rather hire another bass player.
