  • Here’s a Transitional Drop into a $2,000,000 house. Got it done nice and clean with the help of an electrician on site.
    Did an MPT “mod” and flipped it around to better suit the drop.

      @@FyBurz Usually its a pole replacement by power and that's what they have, so they use it. The CATV company doesn't always come out to fix it. Especially if nothing is broken and/or affecting customers.

      It's way worse here in my country. Once an old or decrepit pole is replaced those lines/cables are dangling in the new pole using ropes or old messenger cables.
      Heck the electric company that owns the poles here literally cuts off old/dead cables and operational wires/cables to clean up the messy wires.
      In fact I witnessed the actual cutting off of non operational wires/cables almost two weeks ago. The old thick telephone cable was removed along with cable TV cable and of course operational fiber optic cables/drops wires.
      Although one section of the street is now cleaned off of dead cables, subscribers of telephone/internet/cable TV were left without those services for weeks now. Up to now the telecom providers (PLDT, Globe, Converge and Dito) are reconnecting them one by one. The latest was yesterday I saw linemen moving back and forth doing the reconnecting job. Even one telecom provider was putting up replacement main cable to their grid 😅
      The last time it was really clean regarding the wire/cable arrangement here in my hometown was way back in 1994. That time we got our phone service for months now (when copper telephone cables are used), the telecom provider just removed their old cable and also the first time the cable TV provider installed their line the first time as well. I was just an 11 year old kid that time 😅😅

    Really nice job cleaning up that pole including your ladder trick! Are the extra strings in the conduit just for future pulls or replacement?

    • @FyBurz
      @FyBurz  Před 3 měsíci

      One is tracer, the other is just to replace the string

    • @FyBurz
      @FyBurz  Před 3 měsíci

      And thanks man! On longer runs like this I try to replace string when I can. It’ll likely never be used.

      @chaseohara4781 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Love that you took the time to fix up the MPT. It really shows care and quality to do it right, even when you don't necessarily have to.
      And it's always worth adding in a pull string for the future... Odds are it'll get twisted around the fibre and tracer and won't be usable, but luck might be on the next person's side 😂

    Out of curiosity why don’t you clean the CBT or the opti tap before plugging it in?

    • @FyBurz
      @FyBurz  Před 2 měsíci

      Honestly just never had to, it’s not part of our protocol. Haven’t really had any issues. The odd time a tech comes back and says there’s issues with light. It’s either a bad port or a faulty drop.

    Dude this job looks similar to the job i had to do today. Except i couldnt get through the conduit at all. Homeowner had it installed,and it was installed horribly. I just did the arial part,hit 3 poles, then down the last pole i just walked it out to the house and didnt use the conduit. I just put in a order for the burial crew to bury that part. Im only supposed to run the drops,splice,run the feed,and install the equipment inside the home. We have burial crews that come after us thank god
