I agree with Lynnette on this. If jane was actually being sensitive she would have cleared it with Lynette first if it was okay to attend the party and respect her wishes if it wasn't. If Jane was allowed to attend it she ought to make sure Penny and her Mom were in plenty of pictures first together and then she could get a few with her.
Lynette has every right to do this. Jane isn’t Pennys mom or even her stepmom. And I’d be pissed too if my ex husband brought his girlfriend he just got to my daughters birthday party I worked on for weeks and that girlfriends acting like my daughters Mom.
If Lynette really wanted to show tom how shitty it feels to see your wife or husband with someone else she should have went and dated Rick and told tom she wanted Rick at the birthday party...she could have fed him birthday cake with her fingers in front of tom... Tom would have probably came running back to Jane...I know Lynette was really trying to do the separation by the book and really see where they were at but when she knew she wanted tom back she could have used Rick...it would have been interesting to watch imo

Jane was out of place telling this to Lynette, but Tom had a chance before and didn't have the courage to tell her himself. On another note, Jane seems genuine at getting along with Lynette and she's great with Penny. Also Jane didn't break them up. Some first wives only get to wish their husband's new relationships were to a woman like her. I think I may have taken this show very seriously, it sure gave me a lot to think about. I have a husband to love and take care of, so I don't get to wish my Tom hooked up with a Jane, no matter how much she wanted to get along with me and my daughter.
MC said he would never break them apart and look where we are:( Plus, there are 2 episodes left before the season finale, and there's no sign of them getting back together:S YES! Do that!

Lynette is so rude and condescending. She also reminds me of a kid who stopped playing with a toy (Tom) and only wants it back when someone else (Jane) is interested in it. Although somewhat selfish Jane only got pushy and mean because of Lynette’s attitude.
It's her daughter's birthday party at her house if that were my daughter and ex I would be the same way the father never asked to bring his gf that's rude of him and her bother to do that to lynette without asking first and to top it off take photos with her child without her at the party she paid for

Let your kid take pictures with whoever it wants, you're not to decide that they can't have a photo together. The mom must not be in every photo.
