I really question the statement “major reductions in maintenance and diagnostics”
Sam is a salesman, he is required because of decades of training to speak nothing but positives. OH and maybe when the transmission fails to pull the tractor even though the engine is running, hey anyone can diagnose it. FAIL !!!!!!!!!!!! time to trade if off, get out checkbook and make Sam some more money.
Considering that this EVT transmission possibly has a significant lower number of components compared to the original IVT. This could imply less components are prone to breaking down (similar to electric cars).
@@montybolinger63831. I'm not a salesman. 2. Decades?! How old do I look? I might need to get more sleep.
Tilliage Man Sam - nice to see you again.
Great video and great power train concept! I didn’t realize JD “tillage Sam” went to work for Kibble Equipment. Seems like an excellent employee pickup to enhance an excellent dealer. Kudos!
Looks like john deere just put a train in the field with tracks on it and a hinge in the middle to steer, oh and a nice cab to go with it . This looks like the best thing for deere since the 8 speed power shift.
I was hoping you were going to take it for a spin so we could "hear" how quiet it is..!
Joskin slurry tanker are allready compatible with the electric outpout for a year now. It had 2 electricaly powerded axels to help with traction.
so this is basically the same system as a traction motor on a diesel electric locomotive which is GREAT
Would be interested to see if this can be used to power air seeder carts. Seems like an obvious application. Also, instead of ballast weights, batteries could be integrated to boost power, reduce fuel costs and smooth out power demands.
Seems like this electrification is ideal for harvesters as well. Interesting times ahead.
Sam. Well done. From Buffy
I'll make a statement now. Sometime soon there is going to be partially self propelled implements. Grain carts and tillage comes to mind first. With having powered wheels/tracks, it would significantly reduce the usage on the tractors and could possibly lead to lower hp numbers to pull/power larger implements. The LeTourneau overland train comes to mind
Take video by the highway, that's a great idea Sam!
The biggest sellingpoint for me would be that the EVT is hopefully more reliable than the IVT in higher HP tractors....I worked for a company that had a 8370R witth IVT, the transmission broke I think three times...now they have a Fendt................. :(
The motors themselves are already a proven component, and with the redesign of the transmission for the EAutoPowr, the rest of the mechanical components were strengthened for higher horsepower applications.
@@KibbleEquip yep
iam also very confident that the EVT will be pretty reliable.:)
That's because Fendt is the only company that makes a proper high horsepower CVT.
Wind is insane up there.
This thing could be a lightning magnet. I manage a 20,000 ac farm in Georgia and we are all John Deere. IVT transmissions give alot of trouble we have
them repaired and keep going. Last year our 8R230 with a 12 row exact emerge high speed all electric drive planter attached was struck by lightning one night during planting
season. Bill to repair the damage was $173,000.00 for both pieces and 3 months time down. Technology is a must for large farms but it comes at a large cost.
Electric Fans on planters, electric seed meters (we have that already), Electric Fert Metering (we have that already). Power to the back is the future, I wish it had a CVT PTO on the back, set the desired pto RPM and let tractor do its thing. Good times
Can these tracks be used in the forrest with uneven surface. with rocks and bushes arround. Can that create trouble for the tracks? Can it with tracks climb a 5 foot wall of ice and snow? Or is it best used on the fields??
Can you do a sound comparison on the evt to a ivt
So is this kind of like Hybrid drive? is this similar to how a train engine is powered?
Maybe this thing could power up a farm/home operation during a power outage?!?! No need to buy a backup generator?!?! Love the blooper at the end Sam!!!
Yeah , what an amazing technology. Can you explain me why fendt can make a 673hp tractor with vario and jd tractors which are above 410hp are still powershift ? 😂
Chet will demo it for us please..
Man if that thing shits itself out of warranty you'll need a 3rd mortgage on the farm .
wonder if you can do anything past putting fuel in the machine without needing an official JD service technician to program the computer to accept the change....
I want this for my sprayer
Is that THE tillage man Sam?
Is this something like a locomotive?
I've asked numerous people from John Deere but I can't seem to get a straight answer.... How is the Power to the ground efficientcy compared to an IVT or an E23. Knowing the IVT is the worst and the E23 is the best right now. Where does the EVT fit in? Better than the IVT (I hope) but worse than the E23? Or maybe better then both?
probably better than the IVT since you don't have the high power losses via heat from the hydrostat
I wonder if it couldn’t be better than both, I’m not very knowledgeable on the tech but it seems pretty similar to what they put on trains and such, and trains need some serious power.
Land drive for trailers is one use
I think that is currently something in use in europe now. Large slurry tankers.
Tillage man Sam jumped ship from Midwest to Kibble!!! What's Zach gonna do???
Right 2 Repair
More electronics...great idea ! Until they start to fail ,and they will, sooner or later no one knows when. One has to wonder what the projected life span is , according to the engineering department, everything does have a expected life span.
The lifespan is estimated to be approximately the length of the warranty. Next question.
IH pioneered electric powered implements in the '50's, hydrostatic transmissions in the '60's, & row crop 4wd 2+2 88 Series tractors in the '70's, hurtz 2B 1st, just say'n. The JD's R purty for half a mil.
Future demo by Millennial Farmer, Zach Johnson???
No more Deere on my farm until we have RTR.
I bet the sticker would leave you dumbfounded.
What's "tillage sam" doing?! That's not a tillage implement 🤔
Thanks John Deere as if you guys do t complicate things enough
The flrst thing you will notice...the price tag thats off the charts, the 8rx is the most over priced product they have ever released.
Nexat is way ahead of this.
8rx lacks reliable back tracks unless they make it 4 wheel steering
So a copy of what belarus did about 10 years ago?
I'm being chased around by a drone
Are you and @goodworkstractors brothers
That's a sweet tractor. Nothing runs like a Deere. If it ain't green... It ain't mean!!!
@@interman7715... If you don't like John Deere's then don't watch videos about John Deere's
John Deere has moved the mark forward, yet once again, and it's always been my philosophy: "If you're not moving forward, you're really moving backwards."
The new EVT proves the old adage, sometimes less is more -- less noise, less heat, less maintenance, while its compatible with more horsepower, and it has the potential to be more efficient, something that everyone's interested in today's competitive marketplace.
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲
There's also a saying that states "sometimes less is more"!
