I had a 1200 point match against a demon player, and he dropped a khorne demon prince right behind me, and I ended up charging a group of ten necrons at it. He laughed, saying that squad is going to die as soon as it's his turn to attack back.
However, that squad of 10 were lychguard with warscythes.
The demon prince didn't survive the first flurry of melee attacks. His response was "I didn't know necrons could melee."
Necrons famously fight with such processing speed in their minds that opponents can look like they are standing still at times

The way you described the Praetorians, and the fact they're the ones holding power even ABOVE the Overlords makes me think of them as Necron babysitters.
Overlord: "But I WANNA use my biggest toys!"
Praetorian: "NO! The opponent was deemed honorable! You will use what I allow you to, and nothing else!"
Overlord: *Sobbing*
Concidering Cawl's superweapon fight with the Necrons, this is basically every faction in warhammer.
One thing about the common warriors; They are deemed as "expendable" yes, but only when their uplink to their refineries are intact. For example in the silent king, when trazyn and orikan are fighting in the cave, the uplink is severed due to them fighting inside the core of the world, and thus any warrior killed there will never "reincarnate". Because of this, the praetorians (if I remember correctly) even punished them, because due to their infighting, several necrontyr "souls" were lost permanently. Other than that, great video, and I loved the voice acting in this one!

It would be strange why we have stories of necrons attacking humans when the Tyranid threat is the only one annoying the Necrons, who only stop sleeping, so they can play as the most feared race in the galaxy.
Most Necrons consider humanity to be little more than vermin, so to them it's more like an unpleasant chore than actual warfare.
Humanity has a bad habit of expanding to and colonizing sleeping tomb worlds. The necrons are boomers who wake up after 60 million years to find a bunch of kids on their lawn
It's like when monkeys moved into your house and now you have to get rid of them. You don't proactively go out and hunt monkeys but if they're on your property you'll act like the necron
The Imperium/Inquisition sometimes goes out of it's way to destroy Necron Tombs. This is a well known fact within necron society at this point.
And many dynasties don’t follow the silent king’s vision and just do their own thing

I think the deathmarks should be higher rank as they have there minds fully intact
But they do have a "dishonorable" job and backstory. Also, I think they have limited sentience allowed to them by their masters should they grant it.

@@beastalchemistVA Well, a certain Deathmark from Twice Dead King might disagree, as well as a certain Bearer of the Mark from Pariah Nexus series. I do not know how canonical the second one is, but it does imply that Deathmarks have their own code of conduct separate from everything else. Hence, if the series is canon, they are fully sentient, just obide by the code of conduct they have + regular necron stuff.
That being said I do agree that they left a certain "bad taste" for the royals and are used not as much, and are given even less respect due to their fighting style being "dishonorable".

Death marks are definitely higher ranking than normal legions considering how one in the show can give sass to a lord and it’s implied to not be abnormal for a death mark
