    I'm a trainee from next month. I used to learn swiftUI, but my first company needs me to use UIKit, so I am going to watch your videos, they seem to be pretty informative.

    What you said about SwiftUI was debatable when it launched, but now that it's matured, it's silly to say you can't built an app with only SwiftUI.

      Unless you need to interop with things like e.g. PencilKit (still based on the older UIKit framework)

      When I made that video, Swift UI was only a year old and it has improved since its second year. But can you tell me how you would select a photo from the camera library, or take a photo with the camera, or create a complex collection view like you see on the ios app store, without using UIKit? You also have to remember that CALayers are a simple yet advanced objects that you might still want to utilize in your apps and for that you will need UIKit.

    • @SamMeechWard
      @SamMeechWard  Před 8 měsíci +1

      It took me a really long time to learn iOS development and objective c. Once I got good, learning other languages and technologies was much more easy. The beginning can be really difficult though, for me it was maybe 5 years until I felt like I kind of understood what was going on.
      My advice is don’t learn for the sake of learning. Build apps and keep building apps. Learn by doing and eventually it starts to make sense
