I loved this driving tour. In so many ways it looked/felt like the Eastside of Milwaukee of 1.2mil to 1.8ml range. I just found it so peculiar that same size homes, much of the same period architecture but wow, the price range differential is amazing.
The flats don’t get the hype of the hills. Thank God. Let the construction trucks rip the hills to shreds. The flats are a great neighborhood. Very safe and not very noisy. You can walk your dog without having to walk in the street like you do in the Hills. Trees as far as the eye can see. You can walk to the grocery store, to Rodeo, to restaurants. It’s beautiful. Conveniently located.
Hope they don't tear down too many to be replaced by monstrosities...they should make a Conservation Area there...here in England we have older houses or Architecturally valuable buildings Listed Grade 1 Grade 2...1 means no changes in or out 2 is no changes on the outside!!
