My name is Mike and I'm 73 years old my heart still goes fast when I hear these people from my days and get down oh I almost forgot and the the chills that run down my legs and my arms I grew up as a Young Man also a musician well you just can't beat the old time rock and roll
I once heard that Allen Collins & Gary Rossington considered continuing their '70s run with "Lynyrd Skynyrd", if Paul Rogers would have accepted their request to fill the opening for a frontman, left after Ronnie Van Zant's untimely death. Unfortunately for tham & Skynyrd fans, he turned down the offer.
In my opinion Paul Rodgers it's not only the best vocalist but he deserves credit for his amazing guitar playing piano playing harmonica playing etcetera Paul Rodgers has many god-given talents and he shares it with us how awesome is that❤❤❤
Many if us old heads lived our lives like a candle in the wind.. I burned many years away on every hard ass drug to be had in the 70s and there were way too many Thankfully God Saved me from that self destruction. Then I had a family and I had no idea I Was addicted again. I became a workaholic. One day I took a look around. My kids were grown I was divorced and alone. Oh how I wish I would have had since enough to slow down and enjoy a bit more of life we look around in the blink of an eye. We are old and just waiting........
Well, I’m only 52 but I have already learned the hard way that life is too valuable to spend most of it addicted to work. I still put too much importance on work and my relationships suffer because of it.
I never grow old and tired of listening to Pau Rogers from Bad Co. His voice won't quit. As long as his voice goes on, so will I. Go Paul with your bad ass voice!
oh i love this band, danced, drank, smoked with this song, and I'm still standing and watching you in my home. God Bless. theresa you are a shooting star still shining in my world and the worlds
100% agree with you. When you see some of the inductees, and consider that Paul and Bad Company keep getting ignored, it's nothing short of a scandal. Anyway, all true Rock fans truly appreciate these talented guys!
The Rock and Roll hall of fame isn’t about ROCK AND ROLL.....ITS ABOUT THE FUCKS WHO STARTED ROLLING STONE. They should just call it the Music Hall Of Fame.
That's true.......but Paul Rogers was never a SCREAMER. Thinking of the obvious comparison on the 2 band label of Swan Song Robert Plant is a good example of the other way to go. Plant gave us some memorable vocals that are still to this day my own all time favorite. But plant pushed HARD for those screams in pitch and lots of falsetto. If you listen to old Led Zepplin his voice was pretty much starting to reveal the limits and damage even before John Bonham's death ended the band. Rogers on the other-hand always pushed his voice to that point where it sounds BEST but never beyond that point where you get more out today at the expense of longevity. Smooth as silk and perfect for the music they played. Today still mostly intact decades later.
@@Dogboy1960 I couldn't agree more. Have been a fan since I first heard Wishing Well (why not All Right Now ? I couldn't find the answer hehehe). A lot of soul in Paul's vocal.
justmadeit2 Amen, my “brother”! I was blessed with seeing the original Bad Company “back-in-the-day” - it was epic! With out question, one of the best Concerts that I’ve ever been to! :€)
Paul and Mick - incredible combination! A singer supreme but also a complete front man - charismatic Paul. It is really hard to think of anyone more complete than that. And a true touch of class - Paul can make a simple song sound a million dollars. That is a rare talent too!
This, I believe, was part of the show I attended at the Hard Rock in Hollywood about 10 years ago. This guy did not drop a note all night long. One of the most immaculate vocal performances I have ever heard. The band was just great. Whole concert is up here somewhere. IMO Rodgers remains the best white soul singer of all time and an easy top 5 rock singer overall, all time.
Without a doubt Paul Rogers is a stand out. He does not seem to lose his voice which is amazing in the Rock world where long hours and strenuous use of the vocal chords is a given. He has my respect. Distinct sound.
Nothing really difficult in his Register but the fact he sounds even better and still has Powerful Chops today is truly amazing. It came easily in younger years but to keep a powerful voice going for decades takes an astounding amount of work and he Still sings in the original key...Unfucking Believable
Never tire hearing Paul Rogers sing. I enjoy watching videos and hearing him sing when he was in the band Free too. Have been to some Bad Company Concerts. I could listen to Bad Company All Day! Sexy too!
You know your great when you can rock as hard as you did 45 years ago and still have people on their feet. Great music doesn't die it's a living thing. Thank God for music it truly is a wonderful thing.
This song connects everyone. It starts out as an ode to the superficiality of rock stardom, becomes a larger metaphor for youth and the ephemeral nature of our humanity, eventually coming full circle as a bittersweet celebration of survivors whose time, like Johnny's, is measured. I think the irony of this performance is not lost on Paul and his bandmates, who seem to play with humility and love for their fans. Or maybe I'm drunk.
As a student of Joseph Cammbell, I couldn't agree more re the "larger metaphor . The video does an excellent job showing this metaphor in explicit action by cutting back to two young 20 something ladies singing with vim and vigor while we aging boomers (becoming increasingly much more mass than energy despite our best efforts to the contrary) and are just mildly standing around and mildly dancing.
Must say Paul still sings well for an ageing man BUT like the rest of singers who age the range and power decreases unfortunately. So sorry lady he does not sing so well as in his early fame.
Remember playing their LP's in college in 1974 and rockin' it! They still have it...esp. Paul Rodgers! Ladies, am I right? Voice still perfect and awesome frontman! Rock on!
We saw them a few years ago in Mansfield MA. Joe Walsh opened. We had outside seats at dusk when they played this song when the space station traversed across the sky (Yes, there is an app for that}. A once in an lifetime experience to a great tune.
I saw him with free, l saw him many, many times with Bad Company. I went AWOL in 76 to see them. I saw Paul solo when he was touring with Skynard. He has always been great. One of the best in my opinion.
This man Paul Rodgers, The ultimate rockband frontman , Has the world at his feet, whichever band he fronts from Free, Bad co, Queen , He is the master. You cannot get better. I don't think that there has ever been any of the other three great frontmen, Plant, Daltrey or Mercury that were even in the same league as this man and he is still in his prime .
Paul Rodgers is my favorite front man of any classic rock bands. He is definitely the most musically talented of any of them, as he is a multi instrumentalist as well. But the best frontman I've ever seen was Michael Hutchence of INXS. I've never seen anything like that before or since. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Beautiful women in every direction were panting after him. Paul Rodgers is right up there for sure, though.
Paul Rodgers has an amazing voice! I have loved Bad Company since I was in high school...now I’m 50 years old! Also they’ve been inspiration musically...play piano by ear.
This is a very special song for me. And the slideshow of rockstars from the past just make it even more awesome. I think that every rock n roll fan who’s striving to become a musician should listen to this song at least once in his/her life. Why? Because, at least in my humble opinion, there’s a lot going on in this track. It inspires you to go after your dreams, and it inspires you to do something awesome. All in all, I wanna say that the theme about this song is inspiration. Go ahead, make fun of me, cuss me out, call me an idiot, you wouldn’t be the first. But if you just listen to the words, and the way the music is played, this song is not meant to tear you down. When you hear it, you’ll want to do something great, at least once in your lifetime. It makes you want to do something great. I don’t know what it is about the song that makes it a rock anthem, but I consider it one and nothing anyone can say will change my mind about it.
truly wonderful tribute by Paul. Janis Joplin, George Harrison, Paul Kossoff, Hendrix, Freddie Mercury, and I thought I saw Jim Morrison on the big screen as well. All these great legends, long gone but will never be forgotten. U will always be our Shooting Star, Paul, we will always love you, thank u for many years of great music, and long may u continue! Paul Rodgers was great then and just as great now... To me, best Rock singer ever.

The greatest ever period!!! I may be prejudiced somewhat, but i stand by my statement.#1💯
I fully agree!
God Bless Paul. Recent health issues set him back but he's back with a new album! Hang in there Paul. Praying for you. 👍🙏
The BEST music Era of all time! NO other will surpass! This band ranks top of the bunch! One ofcthe best songs out in the 70s!

Yup. I too was young, dumb, and fucked up. Now I'm 70 and still alive, like Iggy Pop and Keith Richards.

How he isn't voted in the top 5 voices in Rock and Roll history is beyond me. He is number 1 in my book, especially from 90 on.
Mine too 💖🌟
And mine
Jeff Johnson Yes him and Ronnie Van Zant. The Two greatest singers to of ever walked on this planet!
I totally agree

Bad Co. is one of the best bands ever EVER PERIOD!!
One of the best bands of all time!!
one of the best singers in past 40+ years in any genre ! ! !

Miss my late dady this music was his favorite .miss you my friend ,my brother ,my best father ever
I saw Bad Company in 1978- 1979? And it was wonderful!!!!!! And it is amazing they still are Rock and Roll.
Beautiful, well-cared for voice, the best blues/rock singer I know.
I miss you dad I find your songs rest in peace my beloved father
His voice is INCREDIBLE!! They killed it. Amazing performance !! 🤘
I dont think there are many of the old rock stars who can sing as good as this when they are older. He is a natural singer, effortless

Paul and my little brother Carl Albert late vocalist for Vicious Rumors. RIP Carl.
Actually, Glenn Hughes is known as 'The Voice Of Rock' and Tom Jones is 'The Voice.' I agree though that Paul still has a great set of pipes.
