Im sure by using the "rich" mixture it will cool your engine more than using "lean".
Sounds mad but addition of more fuel has a cooling effect on the cylinder head.

I don't know how this sim is setup but if you run a engine lean it runs hot. Fuel actually acts as a lubricant and coolant.
I got to say on some circuits visually codemasters does really well, like Austria. But some circuits like spa and monza if you compare how the curbs look like vs how they look in real life, I got to say codemasters does a really shoddy job. They need to take inspiration from actual sim games like gt or forza, the way they have the track is so much resembling of real life.
