Urban Decay is owned by L’Oreal, not Estée Lauder
Yep, we fucked up ☺️
@@BEAUTYNEWS 😂❤️
Also, the reason for the formula change is because it’s now Vegan…
@@xamyx725that's why the formula is ruined!!😮
The formula criticism still tracks 😏
I think Becca would be doing really well right now if they had managed to keep going. So many of their products fit so well with the current makeup trends.
The peach perfect collection ATE and would still eat to this day. Too faced absolutely killed it.
Oh yeah, I would buy that Peach loose powder again.
I wish I kept my peach palette just bc I miss huffing it 😆
@Rebecca.42 I have 2 of them (one that's practically new), and never use them! I love how blurring they are, but I've now realized that they leave a dark cast on my super pale skin (either that, or the powder has expired and that's just what it does now...?).
Istill have my peach powder and lovevit its my fav nearly gone and will miss it
The peach perfect foundation was the first foundation I ever loved. ❤️ I miss it so much
Ok so a lot of people are mad at dupe companies like Mco and Alter Ego but what if they duped our favorite discontinued products? I mean, if hourglass doesn't want to sell the cream cheek trio anywhere but the UK, then someone else might as well.
Ohhhh okay that is actually a really cool idea.
I love this idea
Yeah I plan to get Alter Ego's ND Gold palette. Definitely a great idea.
Wait, what Hourglass cream cheek trio??
@@TheCostaChic The illume sheer trio. I've wanted it for years but they discontinued it everywhere except the UK and hourglass UK doesn't ship to Canada or outside the UK for that matter.
I feel like make up companies would be really smart to watch your videos and videos like these. Give the people what they want!!
Man I’m still salty that Too Faced discontinued the peach line!! The powder, foundation, peachy mattes palette… all holy grails. It was IMMACULATE. And they discontinued it. Man they need to bring it back… please 🥺
Also Becca mineral blushes! The glowy ones!! They were sooo good!
Right?! That peach setting powder was IT!!! 😢
Agreed!!! I need them so badly! I’d stock up!
I just started watching but needed to comment that I appreciate the matching eyeshadow 💁🏻♀️
The reality is urban decay was fun and interesting before they came out with the naked line. The colors offered and the names where more goth and alternative/grunge friendly
I remember when Sephora was first in malls in the 90s I would see UD & it was like Acidic Green nail polish or Silver glitter in black eyeshadow & had very graphitti or spatter packaging. So odd it became the natural/nude makeup brand later in the 2000s. But so many people love UD & I could never figure out why since nothing I tried from them ever worked for me.
@@yensid4294 they has a Holo glitter in a black eyeshadow named it oil slick. Roach has a brownish red base with a greenish blue chrome shine
Yep. Everything seemed really cool. I remember it that way in the early-mid 2000's, right before they went lame 😂😂
VIDEO IDEA: makeup releases with best and worst timing. What products were a hit or a flop because they were released in just the right/wrong time?
Like ND I need a nude palette was released when there was an oversaturation of colorfoul or nude but orangy-warm palettes, and it probably would have not performed as well if it had been released in the Naked 2/3 era.
Or JS Cremated palette - to be fair, a death-themed palette (not a spooky, halloweeny kind of death but a deathly death) would have been controversial anyway, but the timiming of its release was the worst possible time to do it when a good chunk of the world's population had just been wiped.
The joke that Tarte made with that blue palette 😂.
I agree 💯 with you. When it comes to powder products, if they still work and aren't "off", I'm still going to use it.
Ill keep anything that doesn't smell or look off. Im not feeding the greed machine if the products are still fine lol
@@lucianaromulus1408 Facts
Honestly, eyeshadow palettes don't even collect that much bacteria. So you're not even putting your health at hazard that much. So, I will use my crummy eyeshadow palettes, until the formula gives out.
@@nadyahristova7000 Same.
Too faced 🍑Peach Perfect powdrer🍑 had me on chokehold!! They MUST bring the line back 😭
💜💜💜TFS💜💜💜 the only thing I really really REALLY miss is the 1990's price tag of make up...
i still have my original naked palette from my high school years. this is bad business no one threw theirs away😂😂
mine must be 9 years old by now and I’ve hit pan on a few shades and haven’t found dupes for my favourite ( especially naked and sidecar) so I think I’ll use it more until the rerelease is available here in Europe and decide then if buying a new one is worth it.
@@ninamarie177i bought one because i didnt get into make seriously until i was like 24 in 2014 and im still relatively poor, but i was REALLY poor in my 20s lol I love the Naked line.
Every time Estée Lauder acquires an independent company (Urban Decay, Too faced) they trash the brand by using sub standard formula. EL is massive but I’m struggling to think of anything innovative in either skincare or makeup from them in over 20 years.
I mean, I'm not going to disagree, but in the case of UD, it's actually L'Oréal who owns them.
@@MonkeyAmongBirds same applies to L’Oréal. 😬
To be fair, Estee Lauder base products and lipsticks are my HG (i have the taste of an octogenarian, apparently). Their eyeshadows are shit.
I want the heart shaped blushes back from Too Faced
So pigmented. I still have mine. I still use it. But when I do I admit to feeling a little….dangeresque lol
@@itchysheets1222
👓 "looks like I'm going to have to jump!" -Strongbad- - Dangeresque
@@DrinkYourNailPolish 🤣
Still have mine and they still work.
Just came out of hospital after having a procedure. Sore and cranky and can’t tell you how lovely it was to just sit and veg out with you two.
The too faced melted liquid lips especially the holiday collections are so good.
I still have these. Are they expired? Ohhhh yes. So I still use them? Ohhhh yes 😂
Youre so right about Becca, thats one brand im so upset that they went under. I also miss old UD and KVD
I miss Revlon lip butters. Fig Jam and Pink Truffle specifically
Yes!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Oh man me too! I still have a bunch of mine which have to be like, almost 15 years old by now. I don't use them often these days but they have held up!
I miss Marc Jacobs. I hope he comes back soon. I liked the eyeliners and the lipstick.
I always wanted that Steeletto palette!!!
That Marc Jacobs huge ass powered bronzer was my everything!
@@Impassion I have that one and I forget about it. I have three of them. No four.
Oooh those eyeliners were so good! They had a great color range and were like the first gel pencil I used!
Sonic Truth lipstick. Nothing like it since.
I think I've seen a dupe for that Becca highlighter in Japan - it's the Canmake Powder Cheeks in Clever Beige. It has that subtle bluish glow on a nude base. 💗
UD relaunch of Naked pallet: paid $49 for it in US at Sephora when it was first released. So, I don’t see it as such a big price jump. Am I rebuying? Absolutely not. I’m so happy that you you’re back together and in YT. I love your pov! Cheers!
Fun trip down memory lane. I bet a lot of us have products we are nostalgic on because of Beauty News! Berlin Girl? yep, right here. Stylishly Merry, Hypothermia, Stereo Rose, Colourpop Quartz, MAC creme lipsticks. Under "other" discontinued, I just saw a Project Pan video by someone who used up an entire 6-pan Hourglass Ambient lighting palette. Said it took her 4 years. That is a panning Legendary Feat. And she actually would love another one! 👌🌷🌿🍷
I loved the too faced peach perfect collection!
It was December 2015 and I went over to Melbourne from Adelaide for the Taylor swift concert and Sephora had only just opened and I saw the too faced chocolate palate and Zoeva brushes and I felt so overwhelmed. That was the era of watching shaannxo and all the OG CZcamsrs from the 2013-2016 era and I remember it being so incredible to see the make up in person and my dad was with me and was like alright let’s get them for you and I was almost like no no it’s so much money. It was my first big beauty item (other than a Mac foundation from school formal in 2013) but you are so right. Make up holds so many memories! This was such a great episode! Took me way back! ❤
I'll forever miss Becca. I love the rose gold highlighter. I still use the powder blushes and I know they are expired but we don't talk about that.
I miss the too faced original chocolate bar palette. It smelled good and I adored the colors. What a time.
The too faced Bon Bon palette was my absolute most favorite palette I ever purchased. I miss it daily. Would love for too faced to bring back a reformulated version. The neutral nude shades were so great and that shimmer chip shade was so coppery and gorgeous. Those were my fave palettes and loved that Bon Bon was more pinky neutral than the other chocolate bars
@@beaherzberg I have a brand new one sitting in my palette basket to replace the absolutely trashed one I used so much it needed to go. It's the coolness of it that I love I'm glad I picked up the second one "just in case".
@@nikkidarkangelpnope8400 oh my gosh! Smart girl!! It was the best!
I still use mine I just spray all my palettes down with alcohol from time to time
You could probably find it on eBay! I literally just saved some palettes to my bookmarks
I would cry tears of happiness if they brought this pallet back
I still have and use my ABH Moonchild Palette. I know I look absolutely insane wearing blue highlighter but it makes me happy 😅❤ Thanks for the video!
I still use my Moonchild highlighte palette almost daily. It's great for a inner corner pop of color when i do a colorful eye look!
So glad that you lady’s are back I missed these chitchat video’s so much!! 😉👍😘🤣💋
I loved the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette; it was the first higher-end palette i ever got and I used it all the time in 2016/2017. I still really the colors in it but now I can find something similar in Colourpop for a lot less money.
I was tempted to buy the Naked palette because I wanted it when I was younger, but it was too expensive for me. However, now that I can afford it, I just can't pay that price for it out of principle. 😅
I still like colorful highlighters but I really only like ones that have a transparent or neutral base so they don't leave a silvery streak on the face. I think they're a lot more flattering than the more opaque base ones in the moonchild or kat von d palettes that were so popular
my housemate works in a makeup store (superdrug) and gave me a nip+fab strobing/highlighter palette that is like this! unfortunately cant give you the name because the name came off but it has a pink, an orange, a blue and a greenish colour. it looks really cool and not at all silvery and weird
Still crying over Marc Jacobs Highliners eyeliners being gone 🥺🥺🥺
I still have the Too Faced Peach Perfect Powder and it is still the BEST!! Only use it on special occasions now 🍑
I still have the Moonchild highlighter palette and the KVD Saint/Sinner eyeshadow palette.
Also the Morphe 35O palette! I’ll never get rid of her. She’s a legend. 😂
She is a legend 🧡
I know this is about makeup, but I really want to see the art piece that's on the wall behind Kat! I am so intrigued!
oh yeah...THRILLED that you guys are back on the air! I missed you!!
Too Faced palettes last forever. I still have the Naked Eye and the Boudoir Eyes palettes. Satin Sheets is my favorite eyeshadow from them and i really want to get it as a single.
Slight correction. It was L'Oréal who bought UD not Estee Lauder ❤
UD was original when it was their own brand. Even though it wasn't for me I miss the lip color Gash it was said to be Gwen Stifani's signature red lip back from her no doubt days.
I discovered your channel a few days ago and have been binge watching ever since 😆 I love everything about you two; beautiful, funny, intelligent and unapologetically true to yourselves. I am 53 and aspire to be like you when I grow up 😉
OMG! Such a great blast from the past video. Brought up so many fun makeup memories. I LOVED that Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation and am SO dry and hate matte, lol. I am the epitome of shouldn’t have loved it but was literally obsessed. My peach palette still smells like peaches!
I still own and use my Moonchild palette! Love it ❤
I absolutely loved the peach powder from too faced. They need to bring that back asap!!
The blue highlighters will never be gone for me, of all the highlighter colours I have tried blue and purple look the best on me. I still have Anastasia's Moon Child palette and the Aurora palette. I also have Kat Von D's Alchemy highlighter palette which I'm trying to find dupes for. JSC's Lavender Snow is one of my favourite highlighter, almost all the highlighters by JSC are discontinued, I check the store weekly.
Colours that are not trendy are still being made, I just got Glamlite's blue Friday 13th highlighter and I'm waiting for an order which has a blue highlighter from Black Moon Cosmetics.
I used Kat von D's Saint and Sinner palette yesterday and today, the shadows are still beautiful, they're easy to work with and the shimmers have a sophisticated high shine. The formula is better than some of the new hyped up shimmer shadows.
The soft putty high shimmers in palettes like Ensley Reign's Cold Moon and Wicked Widow's The Crow crease a lot on my lids. These shimmers are difficult to apply evenly so no skin shows through. I have tried with a matching matte shadow underneath, it doesn't help, the shadows creases shortly after being applied, they also get chunky on the lid when I try to make sure no skin peeks through. No reviews I've watched have been honest about this. The shimmers in my old Kat von D palette are helluva lot better. Her Alchemy palette has the most beautiful highlighters I own, I have yet to find dupes of that palette.
My favorite was a ogx shampoo in sea mineral. Its was the perfect beachy scent and formula for my hair
Stylishly merry doooop! I remember grabbing that MAC highlighter as soon as it released i was sooo happy 😂❤ ( I still have it and still use it)
I always wanted that Becca Berlin highlighter but never could get my hands on it but Chanel came out with a stunning highlighter with a soft silver blue color. It’s my new fav. Not a dupe but so pretty. I’d still get Berlin if I could.
I bought the Becca Berlin because of this channel and I still have it! It is amazing. **I still have that perfect peach foundation!! I haven't used it in years but i used to LOVE it.
As an American, I love the Sydney Grace singles, and I can dupe this UD.
Never bought the original, and I would never buy this.
What a great video!👍🏻🌺
I want to see Smashbox have a Becca collection. If Becca can’t come back, why can’t Smashbox offer a range that has the primers & most coveted skin perfectors? Also, I have a Becca colored lip product… it’s a lot like Clinique’s Not a lipstick or Pop Lip Surge products but beautiful, bright pigments and OMFG that lip product is gorgeous. It was a gift from a friend and I’m SO MAD I don’t own more colors. The one I have gives the most perfect, juicy, just ate a piece of watermelon summer lips. I may only wear it for a few months each year but dang it gets wear!
And I am STILL upset I missed out on Berlin Girl Glow. By the time I learned about it, it was sold out everywhere. I do have ABH’s Amrezy but while the formula is a fav, gold only looks okay on me for a few weeks out of the year after I’ve finally gotten a teaspoon of sun. I wish there was a… not silvery but maybe super pale bronze beige color in that formula. GOSH I wish I had Berlin Girl Glow. That is such a perfect highlighter color.
Pretty sure they only have the rights to the select few products they kept alive, could be wrong but that is what I remember being said by Jen Luv.
Estée Lauder destroys everything they touch, including Tom Ford, which is depressing as hell. I’ve been having to buy my favs off of eBay, as EL has destroyed perfume, and discontinued my favorite foundation and lipsticks.
Yesss! Stereo rose. Bring it back.
Forever missing Benefits Dallas, it was my perfect summer blushie/bronze
I saw this comment on another channel, I think, and I looked up Dallas - I was wondering if the Jones Road Dusty Rose bronzer (that looks like a blush) would be something you’d like? I like that bronzer a lot.
🙈 I still wear and love blue and purple highlighters.
I still have the Amrezy highlighter and I've BARELY smoothed the ripples on top of ONE corner of the product 🤣And it still performs amazing
I own it, so I don't need another one, but I loved the giant Too Faced anniversary palette, it was the original colors from back in the day on the top, and the "modern" shades at the bottom.
Super random makeup I miss the Banana Pudding powder from Too Faced I think it was a collab with Kandy Johnson
The way I watch all y’all’s videos twice 😂 Love
UD Honey body glitter was my first big girl cosmetic purchase EVER and I still have it and give it the occasional sniff. That and Benefit's Maybe Baby Body Balm are THE smells of my adolescence! 🥰
Still have 1 left of the Too Faced peach powder and I’m saving it for my wedding and only use it for very specific occasions cuz it’s still so good
Dang. I really missed out on this product…. Now I want it back and I never even had it. 😂
I’m so sad I never picked up that Becca highlighter that everyone loves. I’m always looking forward to your videos! I am SO happy you two are back!!!! Love from New York ~ Angel ❤
I really want Smashbox to rerelease the Becca blush formula and colors as individual products - rather than in palettes like they did not so long ago. That blush was perfect for me because I loved the finish and the shade Songbird was my perfect shade.
For me it's Chanel Camelia de Plumes (the feather) highlighter and Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon. Just off the top of my head. There's so many good discontinued products.
I have searched for my shade in that peach perfect foundation for years, I couldn’t believe I missed it😅
Unpopular opinion- Bite beauty foundation was in my top 5 foundations of all time and I miss the company. The lipsticks were also FIRE (Harissa 💔)
I mourn bite so often. The rebrand hit with the worst timing. I used up my glace lip crayon earlier this year and I'm down to the last nubs of everything I got when they went out of business. Maple was my perfect red but fortunately it's nearly duped by the hourglass 00 vegan red.
Looking at the last vestiges of my peach powder that I am squirreling away
I loved the becca putty highlighter. It was such a nice natural looking highlighter.
I used the living hell out of that Peach Perfect complexion range from Too Faced. I have psoriasis and oily skin, so trying to find foundation that was able to cover my scaly patches and not emphasize the veritable fountain of sebum secreting from my face was life-changing. Lots of the products brought up here would be fun to own (or buy again), but that foundation and powder are the only things I truly mourn. I hardly even wear makeup anymore, since they were discontinued!
I decluttered every UD palette I was influenced into buying. Very over priced imo compared to comparable Indie Palettes or even Colour Pop.
I bought the Naked palette and the quality is excellent. I've gotten lots of compliments
2018 hourglass limited edition ambient lighting palette? Unmatched.
I have some lancome lipliners that I have used since the 90’s and they stoped making them
I spent weeks swatching to find dupes
I used my Just Peachy all matte TF palette this morning. It doesn’t smell much but damn that formula just works for me. I’ll wear it to my funeral as long as I don’t pan it or it spoils. 😂
Berlin Girl makes me sad.
I remember when you two first got it and talked about it. I was intrigued and looked around for it. It was always sold out.
I did find it once, but never pulled the trigger…thinking it had to come out again.
It never did. The pandemic happened and Becca was at it lowest of the low. Then it closed.
And, I never tried it.
i wanted berlin girl glow sooo much but couldn't get it. i ended up using the colourpop super shock shadow sailor as an underpainting highlighter for the longest time to dupe the vibes. Only it was more glittery and becca highlighters aren't, but the glitter was fine for that era of my life and putting foundation + powder over it toned it down a lot. I actually like the pearlized super shock highlighter formula from colourpop and i'm thinking of grabbing some to play "makeup chemist" and see if I can mush some shades together to get as close to a color dupe as i can.
This video made me remember the peach loose powder from too faced, I really liked that powder! If they brought it back I would absolutely buy it.
I planned to make that my regular loose powder, but by the time I finished it, it was discontinued
I need the bite beauty agave lip mask 😭 the original, not the vegan one. The original was supreme
I have my Berlin girl highlighter…. I bought it after watching your videos years ago. I’m still kicking myself for not buying the Becca highlighter collab with Sananas, mainly because I wanted it for the Eiffel Tower 😊
I own Becca Berlin girl glow and I also own a dupe. MAC iridescent powder in the shade silver dusk. I think the MAC powder actually existed first and the Becca one was inspired by it. But silver dusk is also not around anymore.
I agree with Peach Perfect collection esp the powder that really works on my oily skin and I still can't find the dupe yet. I wish brand or even parent company will bring it back
Kvd eye pallette is my all time fav. I’m a theater actress and dancer and I use it for every show it has everything you need
Which one of them? I only managed to get the Saint and Sinner palette before she had to leave her company.
I couldn't agree more w/ KVD - the Shade and Light EYE Palette (mattes) I will forever hold onto purely for nostalgia. part of me really wants to do a full face of old 2016 favourites even though i'll prob end up with chemical burns LOL
I still have mine. I used it the other day. Still performing well.
Too faced peach powder, omg it was soo good, it was my holly grail for oily skin, to this day I didnt found nothing even close as good!! I was devasted when it was gone....
I loved the Too Faced bon bon pallet and those heart blushes I used them so much. I miss urban decay naked 2 also
I still have the moon child palette and use it occasionally. I love that pink shade and the purple
I would buy the 2009 Urban Decay Loves NYC palette in a heartbeat. The formula was AMAZING and the colours were beautiful. It came with two mini eyeliner pencils (black and purple) and a mini primer potion! The best colour was Midnight Cowboy Rides Again ✨✨✨
What a fun surprise to have my comment included in the video! Since then I’ve also found out that Mac had discontinued a lot of their lipsticks, I can’t remember all of the ones that I loved that are no longer available but the one that hurt the most is Plumful.
Tarte's Aspyn Ovard palette is a surprising ride or die for me! I'm so glad that I bought it, but I'm terrified to pan it because I can't replace it!
I’ve changed my eyeshadow style too, from using 5-8 colours to just wearing 1-2 colours, maybe 3.
ABH liquid lipstick in potion is my ultimate perfect lipstick shade. I was devastated when it got discontinued but lucky enough to buy 3 tubes from a random british beauty site before they were gone for good. I even wore it yesterday!
i need that gingerbread palette so badly
I got the Berlin Girl Glow highlighter because of you specifically and hit pan a couple of weeks ago :')
Great video. I still have most of my KVD palettes, including the ones you talked about. They are in perfect condition, and I'm not decluttering them. And I've recently used the contour palette and it still stands up to many new brands today. Yup. Still smooth, still bendable and still amazing. If we are talking about powder contour/bronzers etc. I still have my ABH mood spell palette too. Keeping that.
the weird coral in the sultry palette is one of the reasons i reach for it lol
I still miss Revlon Skinlights face illuminator. Decades before things like Hollywood flawless filter and it was sooo beautiful at a time when everything was either flat matte or crazy glittery/metallic.
Estee lauder tease pure illumnating powder gele blush!! I miss it so bad. Only blush I have used up
Naked wasn't available in NZ in 2011 so when I did my OE, I got mine on the ferry from Dover to Calais. It was the one that came with the single sided metal handle brush, before they changed it and went double sided and it also had a travel size primer potion in the old school genie looking bottle. It was my first ever eyeshadow purchase, I had no idea what I was doing with it lol some of the looks were extremely questionable but I learnt with it and made it work all through my 20s. I still have it for the nostalgia today but don't think I'd ever repurchase it lol
ALSO - bring back MAC Tendertone lip balms! I loved them, especially Tread Gently. Rerelaease it either in a stick or in the original pot with a little spatula and I reckon it'd sell very well in this particular beauty climate.
I love the naked palette. I threw mine out because it was from middle school and I’m currently getting a masters degree. I bought the reformulated one because it was my all time favorite. I actually love the formula. I’m just the everyday consumer. I go to my office job and class and it is wonderful for me. (Maybe I’m basic lol)
I miss Marc Jacobs makeup!
