I just got this ball too. Threw a 256 the first game with it. I'd say it's a medium oil ball. I'm super happy with it. I jsu got the super nova too and plan on using the revenant for games 3 and on pending on lane break down. If anyone is wondering the supernova is a HEAVY oil ball and constantly hooks.
How is it compared to a hyroad. My hyroad doesn’t seem to like medium oil conditions.

What do u see thats different between the 2
@Chris Ball one it's 14 pounds instead of 12. It hooks so much better. My pearl I couldn't get it to hook one bit. And I'm also 2 handed
I have NO idea what the hell you just said?? I use to bowl in my teens (66 now) and you had pretty much 1 ball for any condition or shot. Good God, now you guys own 2 or 3000 balls. You drill 10 balls every tournament and have all this technical stuff. I have no way to even know where to start anymore. Still enjoy watching, but I'm out of my comfort zone. Keep going. Good luck

@@ronallen6578 These guys are sponsored by the company. They're trying to sell balls to you. You don't need that many. I use 2 and it's just fine for a house shot, which is what 99% of people are bowling on all the time.
@@BornIn1500 May be sponsored, but ate still doing as I say. Don't they have like a 10 to 12 ball limit they can take. It's to the point you need to be a scientist to bowl. Don't mean to batch, but its just beyond me these days. Sorry
@@ronallen6578 you don't "need" any of this. It's as complicated as you want to make it. Think of it like fishing. You can cast a worm on a hook and do great... or you can fish like a "pro" and get sonar, take into account the moon phase, barometric pressure, lure color, etc.
During the late 60's and early 70's I did all the ball drilling as an extra to my HM job. My boss threw me some extra cash on the side and all the plugging money. A Columbia ball was $ 19.95 . We also experimented with liquid mercury in the side of the ball. We had no idea mercury was dangerous.

I was wondering if there is a video that you do on what to look for when getting used bowling balls? For some that want to start getting into it (like me), I was able to find a power groove dry/r ball. THe person that did the re-fill and drilled it in said that that is a great classic ball. I was just wondering what makes someone selling a ball (say motiv, venom shock) for such a cheap price? What are your thoughts?

can't throw phaze 4 or trend 2 as well in usbc league tordaments I almost got in trouble throwing the trend 2 in my usbc league now I throw venom shock Reactive resin and a hammer ball that don't make anymore! ruthless solid cover stock! my venom shock hook more then my ruthless and it funny cuse solid cover stock ball hook way more then Reactive resin balls! but it's 7 years old first ball when I started picking up bowling again
It's only National events that those balls are illegal. Open Champs, Jr. Gold, etc... your local league or local tournaments unless your association is ran by a bunch of ass holes, those balls are still legal to throw. I throw my UFO Alert in my league and local tournaments.
Why is the specter illegal?

Where are you bowling at I'm from Vegas and always have to play at the casinos Suncoast and Santa Fe and Texas station before they demolished it are my go to lanes usually Suncoast cuz they don't do cosmic on the weekdays and Redrock is also good it's just so expensive Suncoast is my cheapest place to play the only other place is Round1 and it's like they oil the entire lane even where the pins sit because I had a 3 pin slide all the way to the 10 pin spot it was so stupid how much oil is on their lanes like it was a slip and slide

In simple terms why was the spectre banned? I read that the hardness of the ball didn't meet the requirements, but how is that beneficial?
Softer balls hook more. The softer a ball is the more of the ball is in contact with the lane making it move more than it should.

They were deemed to soft fair and gave an unfair advantage since not everyone could get a soft ball like that.

Darren, Please answer me. I know you are busy winning. Making money. But I'm desperate. I work at The Broadmoor. I literally work at a Restaurant and Bowling Alley (6 Brunswick machines and synthetic Lanes, I say that because I got my first bowling ball for a birthday present at 12(Brunswick Black Beauty,,,, serious, you could smell the cork burning when they drilled it.)
My point is this. Feb 28, 2023 they are replacing the machines with String Bowling Machines. $750,000 for 6 lanes.
