I think one important thing everyone is forgetting to mention is that the steam deck oled isn't as accessible to get as the other handhelds where you can purchase from a lot of stores and online stores.
steam deck's position of the left stick is the key sell point for it. just try to use ally or any other portables with similar left sick position (closer to the left side) for more than 30 mins and you'll get the idea. it's such unnatural position for a left thumb and alsmot nobody is talking about it
@@thegrapevine10 probably not for you, but considering this is a handheld, and the vast majority would likely wanna use the controller that comes with the system, it would make sense to fix such an issue otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose of it being a "handheld". If I wanted to use an external controller Id be on my PC or my console🥲
@ELIDABEASTELIJAHULYSSE true but they'll never make the perfect handheld, your fingers will cram up after half an hour and your elbows will be in a weird position, that's why I use a controller and use a kickstand on the console whenever I'm in my truck for lunch
@@thegrapevine10 true, but the steam deck at least makes it a lot more comfy to hold for longer sessions, it's not perfect but we can't act like that joystick placement isn't faulty on the asus
I have the oled and the ally and the deal breaker with the ally for me was the battery life. Excited for the X but not preordering til I learn more such as how long the battery life last when playing.
I love the steam deck but they need to fix that anti cheat crap. Literally all the games I play all use anti cheat and can’t run them in the steam deck
Forgot the two things that sold me on the Ally. It has VRR which is a big deal. The other thing is the sound quality is twice as good, more volume and supports Dolby Atmos. Huge difference. I had both sold the Steam deck. I have about decided the Switch is better. To get better graphics we suffer short battery life, more heat, more noise, more tweaking needed, lots of updates, slow starts and shutdowns, and a heavier system. Have we really gained much over the Switch? I played the same game on Switch and Ally at the same time. Ran about 45 minutes on Ally, Switch still had 82 percent battery left.
Steam deck oled is like iPhone, rog ally x is like Huawei So Steam Deck easy win after steam had amazing os make it running better than something made in china
I've owned the Z1 extreme model since its launch, SD card reader never worked, not that i care. other than that I'm pretty content. the new one peaks my interest, and if i didn't already own this one, i would buy it knowing what i already know.
Don't think that was a very good comparison of battery performance, just because the steam deck technically has a smaller battery, it actually runs waaaaay longer 6-8hours of game time depending what you're playing vs 2-3hrs on the rog ally X that's a MASSIVE difference and the fact that you didn't mention this critical fact seems like more effort could have been put into your research 👍

He is talking about ergonomic improvements on the Rog Ally X, but it is still not sure if the changes are really improvements! He didn't test it yet. Also I think the battery run time will be now the same for both devices... so no one takes the crown here! Maybe even the steam deck, cause it has the same running time with a lighter battery.
What are you talking lol. You can boot windows on steam deck if you want. Steam deck has proton ge to run most games on steam deck os. Almost every game I play runs on stock steam OS the only games I have trouble with is the EA games that need the launcher.
I've chosen Steam Deck OLED over the Ally X and bought it yesterday, regardless I have the LCD model already. Reason? Steam seems a more reliable company in regards to tech assistance than ASUS, not to mention I haven't seen the X in action yet abd its benchmarks. I'm still skeptical about the alleged performance.
Steam Deck still a better device, Ally just has it issues, and their customer service is bad when they try to charge you for fix. Ally is just way over price and even if you didn't want oled you can go for the other version in price, the LCD is still one of the best prices out there also steam deck is easier to understand over the window versions. Maybe I will get get Ally but I woudl rather wait on a sale and see if they cna keep their word if you ahjve trouble and not trying tot ake more money from you.

Valve should release a steam desk pro internals upgrade.

Are all switch games run well in Rog ally ?
I’m thinking to buy the new Rog ally x but I want to play switch games.
I hate these comparison videos, at the end they just say it’s up to you. I know that it’s my money, but you want to hear a honest comparison.
