Don't be afraid of catching the E.M.P., just focus at avoiding the enemy fire. You don't need to kill anything, unless you're going for a high score. Pay attention to the area around your ship, avoid the enemy bullets, and you'll reach the next level in no time. If you want to get high score though, I'm afraid, you'll have to master this sort of gymnastics.

You won't get good score that way, but you will pass the level, and you'll be able to revisit it later when you feel like you're ready. I wonder if anyone has (or even can) do this on the third and most difficult setting. Regardless, this is quite impressive.
