Farmers can't afford to lose their livestock and will often resort to drastic measures in order to protect their business. But their retaliation measures don't work out well for the lion population.
Scientist Neil Jordan felt that there must be a better solution. In order to defuse the conflict and prevent the issue from even arising in the first place, he came up with the idea to paint eyes on the backsides of cows. Just like the intimidating "eyes" on butterfly or moth wings, these eyes might just keep the lions away.
