  • reState's "Right to Listen" experience at RightsCon, featuring Denys Karachevtsev, a cellist from Kharkiv who has moved many with his powerful performances all around the war ruins in Ukraine.
Denys Karachevtsev became known to international audiences after he played a somber Bach melody outside the damaged remains of Kharkiv, his hometown.
Denys decided to remain in Kharkiv despite the heavy shelling of the city because he wanted to support his beleaguered homeland. He spends his days volunteering and practicing the cello.
We were honored to have Denys as a musical partner for Right to Listen project. Together with Andrii Merkhel, a Ukrainian performer and composer, they created an incredible project, The Garden of Immaculate Voices, a performance that shapes the story of birth and death simultaneously through sound and image.
reState is excited to share this session with the world and hopes that participants of RightsCon who joined us can connect core principles of democracy with the international language of music.
Concert took place on June 7th, 2022
