With the lure of land ownership, the Homestead Act of 1862 encouraged over 600,000 people to migrate west. Among its new inhabitants were Esther Strasburger and her two sisters who settled in Simms, Montana in 1910. SUN RIVER HOMESTEAD depicts their story - the story of women who accepted the challenges of homesteading and forever staked a claim to the West -- and juxtaposes it with Esther Strasburger's legacy, a great-granddaughter who still lives near Simms and for whom the land and its rewards are a way of life.

This is the story of my Grandmother, Esther Strasburger Loomis. I never knew her so I am thankful there is such an excellent video to remember her by.

I love you, Montana! When I have visited that great state, people from all over the ciities that I have visited welcomed me with open arms and with many smiles that came along with their hellos! I promise you this Montana, when I move over there I will abide by your way of living, as a Montana citizen should always do: be grateful for how God Almighty in Christ Jesus blessed your state!

1900 is not the beginning of history of Montana? This is just an opinion highly edited by dropping 100 years.
