Another fine video, Mike. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing
Had a chance to actually test fly a decked out Bristell a few weeks ago in Lancaster PA and truly an amazing aircraft with incredible handling characteristics. Beats the 2 place Pipers and Cessnas hands down.
Thank you! Amazing video dude!
Love every one of your videos Mikey! 🤙💥🤠. Let’s go flying!
Thank you Mike, for this other great video. From Martinique FWI
Nice job Mike, very informative. Thank you.
Thanks for a great video. I’m going to do a demo flight this weekend in a new Bristell in Sebring FL. The price is great when I compare a new 172.
Great video, thanks Mike
👍👍👍 looks like beautiful aircraft perfection.
Hey Mike thanks again and we need to get you 100k subs! Keep up the good work Sir. One Love every time!
I like the plane and the video.Looks like fun.
Superb!
Gosh i love that plane. Still a few years to go before i can fly though.
Very nice!
Another great video
Bristell produces a first class light sport aircraft...
Because we love you.... I remind you that next time please tighten up those straps because the downside of the canopy like that is that if that plane drops in turbulence, you'll be unconscious when your head hits the canopy... You really need to strap yourself down tight in that plane (I know you didn't want to ruin your fancy coat... LOL)
seriously, thanks for sharing this with us. I look forward to your next video
Hello,i'm from Czech republic where Bristell is produced and i'm doing a pilot licence on this amazing aircraft😎
Nice video Mike, I love your attention to the creature comforts in the planes. Any plans to review an RV-6(A) or RV-7(A) in the future? It's only a 2 seater but seems like a contender price-wise.
On your next Bristell video be sure to list the 26 improvements incorporated in the Bristell over the Sport Cruiser by the same designer of both planes.
always enjoy
It is super pretty Mike
Bristell - Parachute? Mike - You're videos are the BEST! I watch them all and learn so much - I'm really interested in the LS category as the cert is much less expensive, plus... 5GPH is a huge selling point for me, less pollution, - just seems like the way to go. Some of these LSA planes have a BSR or chute and that would greatly increase the odds of my family members climbing in one. Bristell - Parachute?
looseparts yes. Parachute but is an option. $9,000. So if you look at used ones they may or may not have one. If they are Pre wired when new then a chute can be added later
Thank you for all the reviews on planes. Your seating position, the “mission”, and including the price really make them great! Every time I think I know the I want to buy based your videos, you come out with a new one on a brand I have never heard of,,, its awesome! So. I will ask you, which one are you buying? I have a Cessna 205, but would like something more gas efficient and modern panel. I could keep the 205 for family trips and get a 2 seater for weekly training flights and building hours- what’s your recommendation? Trying to stay under $100K. Used Vans RV 9? Thanks again for the videos- keep them coming.
Left Coast Electric
he likes them all, but..he's partial to the Sling......
Very nice Mojo. I'm still going to get a modified rv6. Inline seating but single person around the world capable long range cruiser. Is that possible? Doing loops and barrel rolls with 2 people, or kicking them out and using the same weight for fuel? 30 extra gallons=70 gallons and 120 lbs of gear. 1,400 Mile range or 1,100? I don't know but 300,000 grand better buy me that or I'll get the stemme glider.
Would be nice to see also a JBM VL3 test flight
Hi buddy would it be possible to do a review on vl3 ? JMB it can also go with rotax 915 and cruise 200 knots with the retractable gear version . It would be awesome. Happy flying .
Gorgeous plane! Need that design with retractable gear and a 300hp TP.
Flew in one a few weeks ago out of Lancaster PA. It was a nice flight even though it was pretty bumpy. Never flown in a LSA before , flown in a warrior and 172 so the Bristle at 900 pounds makes for a pretty bumpy ride. Could imagine on those 90 deg + days what's it like. If you're looking to get a LSA ticket, just be prepared for possibly some rough days. If you don't have the stomach for sudden drops then stick with the heavier trainers where the flights are not as bad in the summers. Especially if the training area is over farm lands , lots of black tops and mountains.
@@glider1232 sure right about that. Been up in a Schweizer back in the 90s upstate NY, it was a very smooth ride compared to the Bristell.
What was the useful load on that loaded bristell?
Ok Mike, rush out there to buy some Lotto tickets. That should suit you and me both, eh ! 🙄
Good ole KISP. The Bristell look good. Are there any RG variants at KISP ? While you are flying around L.I. Check out my home field, FRG !
Plenty of airworthy war-birds to film at the museum this week.
can u so a vid on the remos g-3
Nice bird bit OUCH! The price point for all new birds is just too much out of reach for the $20k to 60k incomes. The majority of those that want to fly.
Thankfully there are a multitude of used factory aircraft and experimental aircraft that aren't out of reach. One of many is my Tailwind W8 with a W10 wing. Excellent performer on 100hp. Though not qualified as a light sport for a total of under 30k a person could own one including getting their full on pilots license. There are a lot of these and others out there so getting checked out is not a difficult process.
Want a ride? Come see me at KY70. Ionia, Michigan..

could you do a review on the Silent twister, love that plane!!
@@mojogrip The only twister in the US i found on YT, bit old but you never know :)
czcams.com/video/Vx9M2hi4pPM/video.html
Does it still flat spin?
this plane is my goal
A used Warrior II would been my choice.
Very nice airplane. Would like to have seen a bit more detail on the interior fit and finish, plus those wing storage compartments look interesting. You didn't mention those at all? Size, weight capacity, are they water tight?
The wing storage compartments will hold 44 pounds per side and they are water resistant. A new Bristell comes with bags that can be packed and then drop easily into the compartments.
Does it got a Hemi?
What is a E.C.U. .? What is its range? Where can it be seen in Houston Texas?
E.C.U is an engine control unit. Helps mange things like fuel flow in your engine. Range on a Bristell is a little over 800 mile.
I like how much you can see that is going on around you. Ok it's a light sport, but wouldn't you just love a plane like that to carry four passengers and their stuff, even if it did make it a bit bigger? I know I would live something like that to go long distance and carry four, though the sun on a log journey might be a problem. However, it will never be a problem for me as I will never be able to afford one anyway!
Not me.. I don't want that many people or stuff with me. Just enough for a weekend for 2.. Just the same as buying a good sports car..
@@glider1232 Just because you can take more people and stuff with you it doesn't mean you have to. I would drive a big van all the time if I could, that doesn't meaan I have to fill it!
Most four place aircraft cannot be flown with four passengers and full fuel. They will be over weight.
B23 INCIDENT :
If you ever have a problem with the auto pilot taking control (even if it is supposed to be off ) and you can not get control back...
The only way to switch it off is via the circuit breaker.
Better know where it is beforehand.
Really would have liked to hear what the pic was saying instead of the music. Hope next video you refrain from music and focus on the plane. Thanks
What is your home state ?
Can you be a lightsport pilot and fly a Elsa with retractable landing gear ?
Good question. My initial response is no you can't. But I need to do a little research to confirm 😁
MojoGrip thanks.... I’ve asked other CZcams aviators and got both answers yes and no lol. Thought I’d get what you say .
Retractable gear moves it out of Light sport unless it is one of the amphibious models.
An RV12 for almost half the price, same engine and same performance...I fly out of KISP too.
I don't come for the aircraft, I come for the funky BCE. Bit of a disappointment here but I am sure we'll be back on pace in no time.
What does the Bristell use for primary electric power? ((Looks like you have way too much glass to be powered by the lethargic Rotax supplied generator))
The standard lethargic alternator from Rotax can supply enough power to run 2 G3X panels, plus radio + intercom and mode s xpndr and an Garmin 2-axis autopilot, landing, strobe and nav lights in my Pipistrel Virus without any issues.
@@flexairz ok --- how many hours have you been running it (with all features engaged) without failures?
The electrical system draws power from a generator.
It's enough, but you don't get a ton if extra amperage. I'm a CFI specializing in the Bristell LSA. Whenever we go flying, we've got the dual G3X, the G5, two fuel pumps, and the lights on. With all that on, the ammeter generally reads 0 or +1. If you turn off the auxiliary fuel pump and the landing lights, you might be able to get that number up to +2 or +3.
@@timothyrex8734
My load includes dual Dynon HDX + transponder + GPS + Comm + Nav + Intercom + Fuel Pump (1) + Landing Light (AEROLED) + position light & strobe (AEROLED) + dual axis autopilot & option for Power Outlet.
Concern is from comments from others that normal use above 12-13 amps have consistently resulted in generator failures somewhere between the 200 and 250 hour point with the recommendation that that generator by supplemented/replaced with a PlanePower 40A alternator (mod kit for Rotax 912 available from California Power Systems, et al.). Just attempting to acquire further use-data points. Thanks
I'm guessing that could possibly sneak above 138 mph
Hi Mike, get channel! Just a thought, roughly half of all Americans make $60k or less per year according to the US census of 2012. I would guess that figure is rising. Not sure how I, or close to 50% to 60% of us could afford any airplane over $30K, let alone our current car payments. While it’s nice to dream, sadly the Bristell is out of reach for most folks.
yes and no. it is no different then carrying a home mortgage. or tapping equity in house.
@Jimmy Crackcorn, nope. Just believe if you have to 2nd mortgage your home, your financial plan is full of hot air.
so, not to po your ability to continue getting these free rides for reviews. sling2, bristell or sport cruiser? favorite. you have flown all three? kind of like comparing chevy to mercedes i understand but both get you where you are going.
why do the pilots sit on the right side mostly and not the left? I would think the left side would be the norm since we drive on the left.
I think most pilots do sit on the left except when learning and the CFI is on the right and the trainee sits on the left.
They sit on the right to train people sitting on the left. Private pilots sit on the left
The website says base price 130k. Is that without engine or what's the issue
Dan Frederiksen that is with the engine, basic avionics, basic interior and base white paint. A nicely equipped Bristell will be about $159,900.
Dan Frederiksen Maybe with the extras in this one it puts it in the 200k range?
@@doranjaffas9645 from 130 to over 200 is pretty hefty extras. Pretty expensive ipad.
@Jimmy Crackcorn I'm a polymath genius, smartest man in the world. So you know, that puts you in an awkward position.
@@DanFrederiksen A polymath genius huh? If only the rest of the world saw in you what you see in yourself. Not likely.
the cost is too high.
WAY above what I would pay! Nice looking though. Maybe as you say it does not feel light in the stick but it will make your wallet LIGHT. With new rules; who needs light sport anyway?
@@thedestroyer3262 they are probably talking basic med. However, light sport is the future of general aviation and when the FAA complete the updates to the light sport rules in 2021, the weight will be increased, the speed will be modestly increased and the new rules will allow for 4 seater aircraft in the light sport category.
@@thedestroyer3262 www.bydanjohnson.com/latest-update-on-faas-plan-to-change-light-sport-aircraft-regulations-july-2019/
Too many dollars for that kind of performance and payload, I’ll take an older Cessna or Piper any day
If you need or want a cockpit that looks like a garish Italian sports car and want to pay extra...The Bristell is for you, at 200k. As I’ve said before, its WAY OVERPRICED. It’s beautiful, sexy and flys very well. Save your money, buy a Sling, Sport Cruiser, Tecnam or the like and pocket the extra 40k.
You stay in that Toyota. I'll take the BMW. There's a difference. You just can't afford it.
Another keyboard Commando. It’s ok to disagree with another’s opinion, you haven’t a clue as to who I or anyone else is on here. If you care to disagree, please do it respectfully.
@@da20eclipse Disagreeing with you is EXACTLY what I did.. You just don't like it. How Liberal of you...I don't need to know who you are to make that conclusion. I've flown 3 of the 4 planes you mention (The Tecnam is so overweight it's not even a contender) The Sling is a great plane and nearly as expensive when comparably equipped but the Bristell is quite a bit wider in the cockpit and is not nearly as touchy at the stick as the Sling is. The one thing I did prefer on the Sling was the sliding canopy but it is harder to get in and out of. Milan (The designer of Bristell) designed the Sport Cruiser and made the Bristell better in virtually every aspect. All are good planes. Like Toyota is a nice car. But I'll take a BMW over a Toyota any day. The Bristell is an M8. The Sling is an MR2.
SlingPilot those planes you mentioned are very good but not the same. Tecnum Astore cost a bit more the the bristell.
These planes are prone to stall/spin accidents.
It is not the plane. It is the pilot poor decision making. We have used the Bristell in our schools for 4 years without a single incident or accident or insurance claim.
A little over price????....it's a lot over price....next!
I quite agree except at 130k$ base, isn't it the lowest priced LSA of them all?
I firmly believe there is a great market for someone who understands that a nice plane can be quite profitable at 50k. Single piece wing with mostly single piece body attached to the wing. And getting a rotax like engine certified without the ridiculous price. Either some fairly cost effective minimal glass or develop own. Computer gear these days can be dirt cheap and put two in for redundancy, you should be good. Fully independent with a small battery backup in each. 50k is real money. 130k is very real money. 220k is crazy money.
There is also great opportunity for making a clearer interface. Glass products are way too legacy cluttered. So stupid.
@@dh-flies So if 220k for rare use vehicle is significant money, I must live in a trailer? how many mclarens do you have, punk one?
@@DanFrederiksen I'm betting you have the deepest brown eyes. Because you are so full of shit.
100 mph isnt that very slow? thats like driving
This plane will cruise at 120 kts. That's 138 mph. Where do you drive at 100mph though? That must be fun.
@@dllc8641 Just booked a Bristell HD with 915 Rotax, G3X glass cockpit, 3 axis AP, fix gear (I don't like a lot RG), and constant Rpm variable propeller. I m planning a tour of the world next year and I think it's the right aircraft to do this.. I tested it with the dealer...incredible aircraft! The 915 mantains full power to 15000 ft and at FL 125 at 5500 Rpm, you can fly over 150 Knt. If you fly at 5000 rpm at FL 100, you have 139 Knt and it drinks 26,5 Ltr/hr. Right, it s not really cheap, but it can play the game with some renowed GA aircrafts, much more expensive, both in price and in management.
@@giovanniolivo1325 What do you mean booked? You ordered one? Are you in the US? In the US this is a light sport plane. The RG is not sold here. Constant speed prop is also not legal here. Rumor has it that many of the light sport restrictions will change by 2023. For everyday flying the 912IS is great. The 914 if you are in the mountains a lot. But, that 915 would be great for climb rate but the rules say you still have to keep it under 120kts as a light sport. There are 2 companies that have already developed a constant speed prop setup that will make the 912IS do 145kts. Just have to wait until it's legal to do.
@@dllc8641Sorry for my mistake, Yes I mean I ve ordered one. In Italy or Germany we don't have the same regulation as USA, RG is legal as well as variable propeller.
