Love the questions the interviewer asked and how well spoken she is. Nice to see the new trend of interviewers diving into complex questions about the movies that are being promoted. I can tell she is a fan of the franchise which is nice to see with some of the questions she asks and how easy the conversation is navigated after each question.
Yeah this interviewer killed it. It wasn’t just like “what’s your favorite thing about your character?” And more like “explain what kind of struggle your character goes through and how you played that so convincingly” ❤
The questions were OK. She couldn't get the characters first names right so I wouldn't go giving out awards lmao
I love Tom's answer about the love between Snow and Lucy, "What even is love?...does love have to be this pure thing that comes out of nowhere? is it out of circumstance? what one person needs from another?" Because indeed love is not that simple and love isn't always unconditional. Sometimes circumstances push us into loving someone but it's still love at the end of the day - we have different ways of showing love - some probably borderline or actually questionable such as in the case of Snow.
Ikr his answer was very good and spot on. I think Coryo did love LG truly but does thst character even know what love really is or how to handle it? As Tom said LG is chaotic for him or symbolizes a chaotic world and Coryo is afraid of losing control so that's not a good ground to build a relationship on. But that doesn't mean his feelings weren't authentic or true
My biggest question is how did Lucy maintain a southern accent when singing? Like mastering an accent is one thing, but singing in it A WHOLE DIFFERENT THING
it's actually pretty easy if you grew up listening to country and mimicking the singers

Rachel Zegler is ridiculously talented and I’m sure she just listened to a lot of country/southern music to mimic the mouthing to sing it so well ❤
Try singing an Arctic Monkeys song without a little bit of an English accent

Tom blyth and Rachel zegler’s understanding about the murkiness of Lucy and coryo’s relationships was perfect. Lucy and snow had such a complex relationship and it was deliciously displayed and directed

Great interview! There's actually substance in this. I am happy that Rachel and Tom understands their characters well. Being a fan of the books, I learned something new too!
The fact that we get reminded that he is human actually made me dislike him even more. He’s a person who went through the same trials and trepidations as others, not even the worst ones might I add, and he ends up being so horrible towards humanity??? The movie reveal that people, not monsters, but people are capable of some very ugly stuff. Not that it’s new knowledge.

Well yeah it's your experiences but also your choices that make you who you are. He had so much fear of losing control because that would make him feel unsafe (like it was when he was a child). So that fear decides all his choices. Also he reflects a lot on his actions but he never looks in the mirror. He would not even consider to be the one who acted wrong in a situation that he creates this spiral of glorifying his own behaviour. Idk how to say it better. I really love the movie but in the book his development is explained better because like half of it is Coryo's thoughts. When I read it I was analyzing this character as if I was back in school again lol

For the first time, after the COVID pandemic, I feel that there is hope for the world, it's refreshing to see that Gen Zers are smart, thoughtful, self-reflective and open-minded in a good, grounded way- grounded in reality and honesty.

The movie was spectacular. It made me feel so nostalgic because I really missed this type of movies, my 12 year old it's alive again. I love them, this is a perfect cast.

The story humanizes him at the beginning, but he is still learning how the world around him works in the Capitol, then he gets a look at District 12 and it works there, and then by the end you see he is clearly all about himself. What and who, he throws under the bus to save himself, or throws into the lake, or the bird cage to save himself at the expense of who were supposed to be his friends.
Exactly! You’d think spending time in 12 & getting to really SEE what the Capitol subjects them to would make him empathise with them but nope. Not even a tiny bit of compassion.
another thing is when he hit the boy to escape from the hunger games' arena, that moment scared me cause somehow he does not feel guilty about it, but then his sister calmed him down, i think it's just temporary therapy cause he's bad at the beginning, the environment just stimulates him more to show who he really is.

Is it just me or did Rachel not answer the first question? (No hate). I was just really looking forward to her answer about Lucy’s relationship to her location as these new borders were being enforced and a question not focused on her relationship with Snow. I felt like she answered a different question entirely?
Just saw it yesterday. Liked it but the pacing with three acts was off. Act three starts late into the movie but still is an hour and never is as good as the first two acts so it makes the film feel uneven and slow in some areas.
The interviewer couldn't say the main characters name or Panem 😂 like come on.
Was that a "yeah" "yeah..." or "yeah I'm dead" "yeah..."
My biggest question is what happened to Lucy at the end of the movie?!?!?
I think we will never know why because the author said that she left Lucy's ending open for us to make our own theories, even Rachel herself wants to know what happened to Lucy Grey.
