Vader could have just crushed his helmet in 1 second flat...or blinded him a lot earlier and threw something non-metal. Further, what gives Vader an advantage is that he has the force so he doesn't need vision and he also has precognition.
Can people just appreciate the music, animation, and the fight itself...without causing flame wars based on who should've won? Seriously, DBX videos are specifically stated to be done purely for entertainment, not for analysis.
So to clearify. No Magneto cannot simply crush vader or his lightsaber. Vader was once in a similar situation and could keep his suit from killing him with the force. This is shown correctly in this video. Vader can prevent himself from getting killed that way. Secondly, Yes Magneto could destroy the whole deathstar but 1. Vader could theoretically prevent this also by useing the force. 2. Even if it would be to happen vader has a spacesuit. 3. It would not make a good fight to have black background only.
Do not question this or you will start a war between the two franchices. For starters, Magneto can only control magnetic metals, while the force allows you to control anything and effect even more. Make the math. If you are trying to say that magneto can just overpower vaders tries to protect his armor your are wrong, first again vader was in a simular situation and did not die and secondly we dont even know if vaders armor would be fero magnetic and thirdly even if magneto could crush vader what again seems unlikely could vader just do the same to magneto.
Magneto would get choked by a magic space wizard and his sorcery. It does not matter what somebody can "Tank", as shown in this video. Just let it be already.
This actually makes sense because Vader's suit is made out of durasteel, which is not magnetic. And Magneto I guess could find ways to manipulate the Death Star and Vader himself (as there is metal that he could probably control), but it requires intense focus, and Vader simply would not let him do that. Magneto's powers are also determined by his body's status, and if he gets seriously injured, the pain would distract him from using his powers efficiently.

Exactly I flashbacked to the comic issue when Magneto pulled all the adamantium out of Wolverine's body. Comics don't really differentiate between the two. Effectively, Magneto's powers are depicted more like metal manipulation (when he isn't actively using other aspects of the EM spectrum.
That was fun! Nice super power use, then it ends with a satisfying, believably brutal kill, and that's done with a setup that's not meant to really care about calculations technically, it's all more or less a coin toss result, but the crew did a good job making a fun battle! Good work!
in reality Magneto is Vader's worst nightmare. he could disassemble the suit and lightsaber in one swift motion leaving a dying body on the ground without limbs
+MadHat Joe Magneto's power affects more than ferrous metals and even Metals that don't exist in this universe. Vader's only chance is to get in close and use melee before Magneto could defend himself as the punch would likely kill Eric (if it hit the face it would rip his head off, it'd leave a hole in his torso if aimed at the gut, etc) but since Magneto has power over any and all metals he would likely crush Vader without trying.
Vader can sustain himself with the force if his breathing system is destroyed, so I think he could keep himself alive long enough to force-rip Magneto's skeleton out.

Wow! Please use THIS animator for regular death battles! This is top quality. There is no need for 32-bit character fights when you have animators who can do so much better.
If you were to take their powers away, Vader has a lightsaber, so melee is a win to Vader. The force is very powerful, and can be used on all things, not just metal, so he has that. Magneto has nothing to stop Vader from immediately tearing his arms or head off, unlike how Vader can use the force to do so. Vader is able to best many Jedi, he can also put up a good fight against star killer, while maybe not winning, being able to hold your own vs a person who can pull space ships from the atmosphere, which is far more impressive than magneto moving smaller things. Vader, even with his limbs off, if somehow magneto did tear his arms and legs off, Vader has pure hatred to fuel him, and can still use the force to crush magneto. Basically, Vader can do what magneto can and then some.
Magneto has a forcefield around him. Magneto can move entire planet. Magneto can remove iron from vaders body. He would just look at the ship and turn it into liquid metal killing everyone from far far away.

Did you forget that all of Darth Vader's limbs are all made of mechanized metal because they got cut off... All Magneto would have to do in the first 2 seconds of the battle is make Vader start punching himself, and then rip his limbs all off... Not that I like Magneto more than Darth Vader as a character, and I understand there is no research into these fights. But, if this was a legit death battle. I think Magneto would have won.
We got to remember how fast Vader actually is. It's kinda OP. I also think this is one of those matches where it needs to happen like 1000 times to see who'd win more as I think they have equal opportunity killing eachother.
Magneto can react to beyond light speed attacks easily and can see light wave lengths floating in the air and can reverse the planetangetic pole and destroy people by pooling the iron from their blood or expanding it to cause them to explode

You think attacking Vader directly would work with that ability? Nearly every single thing Magneto could do. There is a counter for it with the force. It doesn't matter if there's iron in the blood. Vader could stop your blood or heart without a problem while using the force to pump his own blood. Magneto couldn't defend against that as not all of our blood is copper. He'd only be pushing the metals in his body as Vader dismantles him and drains his life with the force. It also doesn't matter how fast you can defend and attack. The force is basically omnipotent. So magneto and his lights speed feats hardly matter.

Am I the only one who loves how this entire fight was spurred by Magneto protecting Earth? Dude may be a villain, but it's clear he loves his home and would do anything to protect it. (And my headcannon is that after this fight the the X-Men and Brotherhood team up to avenge him)
As much as I love both characters, the amount by which this should be one-sided in Magneto's favor is insane. It takes SO much less effort for Magneto to do ridiculous stuff with his powers than Vader with the Force. Vader's only victory condition would be to be really far away and Force Choke Magneto to death, and that's assuming Magneto's helmet didn't magically also interfere with someone's ability to sense his presence through the Force.
Actually magneto's helmt could repel force mind trick, but the force is more than mind tricks, and everyone can use the force in different ways, vader can also crush magneto organs with the force, many people use the force in different ways Some of them use the force to make lightnings, other use it to save lifes, and others use the force to DRAIN the life (like darth nihilus, who used the force to drain the life from entire planets killing everyone in the planet)
I wasn't going with literal "magic" on the helmet line, just expressing the outlandish nature some characters' items and powers tend to reach after decades of extra fictional works involving them. My basic point was that using the Force typically involves a lot more concentration and focus, whereas being Magneto and ripping a metal man to shreds just wouldn't. Of course, fiction being fiction, it could always be claimed that that bulk of the parts which comprise Vader's body, Lightsaber, etc are non-magnetic, like various special models of Sentinels over the years that Magneto couldn't directly affect. In which case, Vader is the only one of the two able to juggle the other around like a rag doll, and Vader wins. This is the nonsense that happens when you have decades upon decades of these characters doing things!
If it was Death battle, Magneto probably would have won, since Death Battle is based off of the objective power of the characters. But in DBX, the writers/animators basically say "screw objectiveness! Who do we WANT to win?"
Very cool. Actually, I expected Magneto to win easily, but when I thought about it, Darth Vader has more going for him that I initially thought. Inside the death star, they both essentially have limitless telekinesis, but really "the force" is many super powers in one, including telekinesis, superhuman reflexes, superhuman strength, perfect awareness of the surroundings, and even limited precognition. Just the fact that Vader would be much harder to surprise than Magneto makes a big difference.

Magneto could have just dismantled the lightsaber. Or scattered the sabers beam? I mean, great fight. Really freaking cool actually. I just though the light saber would've been rendered useless early on in the fight since he can quite literally bend light.
Magneto has reflexes 14 times faster than a normal person (seriously its actually a power of his) but Vader has precog and can boost his actual physical speed with the force. So Vader has better/quicker reactions and is faster by a fair bit. Magneto can manipulate Vader's cybernetics directly (eg ripping them apart), but this can be countered by Vader using the force to defend himself (eg hold himself together). Vader can manipulate Magneto directly but unless a magnetic forcefield blocks the force somehow (I've seen no evidence it would), Magneto has no way to directly counter this and defend himself. Put these facts together, and (assuming both are fighting at their most effective) Vader will win a direct confrontation every time. Moreover, with his force sense, Magneto can neither hide from nor sneak up on Vader either so its unlikely he'll get the drop on Vader to gain an advantage that way. The only way in which Magneto is superior is in raw power. And even then, Vader's other advantages more than make up for this. Plus if Vader knows where Magneto is or can even see him, Vader can snap his neck with a thought. Basically, they got this one pretty right. For what its worth though, these are all moot points if Magneto had just crushed the death star from space.

Having seen Doctor Doom vs Darth Vader , knowing how close it could have been in favor of Vader winning that match, Magneto is no slouch ( taking on all of the X-men at once multiple times as as an example ) either , this definitely needs to be revisited as a full blown Death Battle.

Reason why is because it's not an even two way street. Magneto would have control over most of Vader's body, twisting and breaking him in several different ways, but Vader has only been seen to choke someone. Effective, but not something Vader has shown to be able to do as readily in an actual fight. So that two way street is more one side being a dirt road and the other a highway. The only way Magneto would lose this fight is if Vader's augments aren't magnetic.

Magneto must have tampered with the artificial gravity in that area. It explains how Vader moved like that. Also, Vader could use the force to control whatever he wanted, whereas Magneto could only control metal. Thirdly, Magneto's helmet could resists Professor X's thought readings so it block Vader force-reading his mind. Finally, as noted in the Incredibles, capes are a weakness to some heroes and Villains. (Remember what happened to Syndrome.) The fight was unexpected by either one, but Vader held his own there.

the problem is that if it's actually trying to be analytical and based on their abilities, not just for spectacle like DBX is, Vader wouldn't stand a chance. Magneto is far more powerful than anyone gives him credit for, there are any number of things he could do to just immediately win

So to clearify. No Magneto cannot simply crush vader or his lightsaber. Vader was once in a similar situation and could keep his suit from killing him with the force. This is shown correctly in this video. Vader can prevent himself from getting killed that way. Secondly, Yes Magneto could destroy the whole deathstar but 1. Vader could theoretically prevent this also by useing the force. 2. Even if it would be to happen vader has a spacesuit. 3. It would not make a good fight to have black background only.

Do not question this or you will start a war between the two franchices. For starters, Magneto can only control magnetic metals, while the force allows you to control anything and effect even more. Make the math. If you are trying to say that magneto can just overpower vaders tries to protect his armor your are wrong, first again vader was in a simular situation and did not die and secondly we dont even know if vaders armor would be fero magnetic and thirdly even if magneto could crush vader what again seems unlikely could vader just do the same to magneto.

This actually makes sense because Vader's suit is made out of durasteel, which is not magnetic. And Magneto I guess could find ways to manipulate the Death Star and Vader himself (as there is metal that he could probably control), but it requires intense focus, and Vader simply would not let him do that. Magneto's powers are also determined by his body's status, and if he gets seriously injured, the pain would distract him from using his powers efficiently.

Vader's only chance is to get in close and use melee before Magneto could defend himself as the punch would likely kill Eric (if it hit the face it would rip his head off, it'd leave a hole in his torso if aimed at the gut, etc) but since Magneto has power over any and all metals he would likely crush Vader without trying.

Wow! Please use THIS animator for regular death battles! This is top quality. There is no need for 32-bit character fights when you have animators who can do so much better.
If you were to take their powers away, Vader has a lightsaber, so melee is a win to Vader.
The force is very powerful, and can be used on all things, not just metal, so he has that.
Magneto has nothing to stop Vader from immediately tearing his arms or head off, unlike how Vader can use the force to do so.
Vader is able to best many Jedi, he can also put up a good fight against star killer, while maybe not winning, being able to hold your own vs a person who can pull space ships from the atmosphere, which is far more impressive than magneto moving smaller things.
Vader, even with his limbs off, if somehow magneto did tear his arms and legs off, Vader has pure hatred to fuel him, and can still use the force to crush magneto.
Basically, Vader can do what magneto can and then some.
Magneto has a forcefield around him. Magneto can move entire planet. Magneto can remove iron from vaders body. He would just look at the ship and turn it into liquid metal killing everyone from far far away.

Magneto can react to beyond light speed attacks easily and can see light wave lengths floating in the air and can reverse the planetangetic pole and destroy people by pooling the iron from their blood or expanding it to cause them to explode

Nearly anything magneto can do Vader can do, but more because the force is basically a catch all telekinetic and psychic ability and he can defend and keep himself together with the force even through attacks would end a regular person. His hate would keep him standing.
Not only would magneto be severely behind in battle tactics because Vader can see his next moves, but metal is his only friend. You think attacking Vader directly would work with that ability? Nearly every single thing Magneto could do. There is a counter for it with the force.
It doesn't matter if there's iron in the blood. Vader could stop your blood or heart without a problem while using the force to pump his own blood. Magneto couldn't defend against that as not all of our blood is copper. He'd only be pushing the metals in his body as Vader dismantles him and drains his life with the force. It also doesn't matter how fast you can defend and attack. The force is basically omnipotent. So magneto and his lights speed feats hardly matter.

Am I the only one who loves how this entire fight was spurred by Magneto protecting Earth? Dude may be a villain, but it's clear he loves his home and would do anything to protect it. (And my headcannon is that after this fight the the X-Men and Brotherhood team up to avenge him)
As much as I love both characters, the amount by which this should be one-sided in Magneto's favor is insane.
It takes SO much less effort for Magneto to do ridiculous stuff with his powers than Vader with the Force. Vader's only victory condition would be to be really far away and Force Choke Magneto to death, and that's assuming Magneto's helmet didn't magically also interfere with someone's ability to sense his presence through the Force.

Actually magneto's helmt could repel force mind trick, but the force is more than mind tricks, and everyone can use the force in different ways, vader can also crush magneto organs with the force, many people use the force in different ways Some of them use the force to make lightnings, other use it to save lifes, and others use the force to DRAIN the life (like darth nihilus, who used the force to drain the life from entire planets killing everyone in the planet)
I wasn't going with literal "magic" on the helmet line, just expressing the outlandish nature some characters' items and powers tend to reach after decades of extra fictional works involving them.
My basic point was that using the Force typically involves a lot more concentration and focus, whereas being Magneto and ripping a metal man to shreds just wouldn't.
Of course, fiction being fiction, it could always be claimed that that bulk of the parts which comprise Vader's body, Lightsaber, etc are non-magnetic, like various special models of Sentinels over the years that Magneto couldn't directly affect. In which case, Vader is the only one of the two able to juggle the other around like a rag doll, and Vader wins.
This is the nonsense that happens when you have decades upon decades of these characters doing things!
Vader's power has far more advantages, like not being limited solely to metal.

Very cool. Actually, I expected Magneto to win easily, but when I thought about it, Darth Vader has more going for him that I initially thought. Inside the death star, they both essentially have limitless telekinesis, but really "the force" is many super powers in one, including telekinesis, superhuman reflexes, superhuman strength, perfect awareness of the surroundings, and even limited precognition. Just the fact that Vader would be much harder to surprise than Magneto makes a big difference.
Don't forget, Vader has had way more experience as a warrior than Magneto ever did.

Magneto has reflexes 14 times faster than a normal person (seriously its actually a power of his) but Vader has precog and can boost his actual physical speed with the force. So Vader has better/quicker reactions and is faster by a fair bit.
Magneto can manipulate Vader's cybernetics directly (eg ripping them apart), but this can be countered by Vader using the force to defend himself (eg hold himself together). Vader can manipulate Magneto directly but unless a magnetic forcefield blocks the force somehow (I've seen no evidence it would), Magneto has no way to directly counter this and defend himself.
Put these facts together, and (assuming both are fighting at their most effective) Vader will win a direct confrontation every time. Moreover, with his force sense, Magneto can neither hide from nor sneak up on Vader either so its unlikely he'll get the drop on Vader to gain an advantage that way.
The only way in which Magneto is superior is in raw power. And even then, Vader's other advantages more than make up for this. Plus if Vader knows where Magneto is or can even see him, Vader can snap his neck with a thought. Basically, they got this one pretty right.
For what its worth though, these are all moot points if Magneto had just crushed the death star from space.

Exactly, people need to watch obi-wan kakashi fight to see how powerful the jedi/sith are in the extended universe, obi-wan could create black holes and wasnt as powerful as darth vader, vader could instantly create a black hole to kill magneto if he wanted to make it flashy, or he could pull his brain stem out instantly while using .002 seconds to hold his armor/metal together, it would be no difficulty, they are completely broken

@@LucyWest370 if you do the entire expanded universe of star wars, than its a stomp, if the xmen fans are extremely picky with which star wars stuff they'll accept for the power scaling there might be a case for magneto, but it certainly would not be easy, especially if theres some canon reason why the force doesnt overcome magnetic fields or forces, which as a non biased fan of both, id assume a force user capable of creating black holes would be immune to having the magnetic forces affect his body, as force users also have a field around their bodies protecting them as well

Magneto doesn't just control ferrous metal. He can control all metal. He can also manipulate all material on the atomic level by control the electromagnetic field. Dude can even create worm holes in space. He is over powered to the max.

ALLAN MANENE no, he can't. As most starship hulls in star wars(like the death star) is composed of durasteel, a metal not affected by magnetism, Vader's armor, cybernetics and even his lightsaber is also composed of this.
Wow. I was legitimately impressed by this. Nice job on animation and actual fight choreography. I was bummed to see Magneto go down, but I'm sure I'd be saying the same thing if the roles were reversed.

@@GazeGamerX they both have similarities, but it would end in a tie. so they stopped using it. also, vader is extremely powerful force user, so he can do many abilities rather than just killing people.
Having seen Doctor Doom vs Darth Vader , knowing how close it could have been in favor of Vader winning that match, Magneto is no slouch ( taking on all of the X-men at once multiple times as as an example ) either , this definitely needs to be revisited as a full blown Death Battle.

Am I the only one who cant stand when the other comments say that magneto shoulda won coz he could just crush vader's metal suit when they literally show him try to do it IN THE VIDEO and vader just force chokes him, proving that it's a 2 way street and magneto cant just crush him...
Reason why is because it's not an even two way street. Magneto would have control over most of Vader's body, twisting and breaking him in several different ways, but Vader has only been seen to choke someone. Effective, but not something Vader has shown to be able to do as readily in an actual fight. So that two way street is more one side being a dirt road and the other a highway.
The only way Magneto would lose this fight is if Vader's augments aren't magnetic.

Magneto must have tampered with the artificial gravity in that area. It explains how Vader moved like that. Also, Vader could use the force to control whatever he wanted, whereas Magneto could only control metal. Thirdly, Magneto's helmet could resists Professor X's thought readings so it block Vader force-reading his mind. Finally, as noted in the Incredibles, capes are a weakness to some heroes and Villains. (Remember what happened to Syndrome.)
The fight was unexpected by either one, but Vader held his own there.
