  • On May 11th we went on a quick climb up mount Shasta. We left Bunny Flatt trail head at around 2:30 pm hiked to Helen lake in about 3 hrs. From there we left camp at 1:20 am and arrived at the summit just before sunrise. We stayed at the top for about 1.5 hrs before heading down, didn't encounter another person until the base of misery hill. also on the way down someone fell down from Red Banks about 1,500 ft where he was air lifted out. there was a lot of ice fall once the sun hit red banks I would highly recommend going earlier in the morning.

    how did you get over your altitude sickness from the previous attempt?

    • @NWAdventures
      @NWAdventures  Před 4 lety +3

      If I remember correctly we kept a really good pace to Helen lake for attempt#1 which was lead to the altitudes I kneed when we went to the summit. For attempt #2 we went up a week or two later and slowed down our pace and drank more water and had zero problems

      @@NWAdventures Amazing what slowing down the pace and more water could do, will definitely take that advice during our attempt, thanks!

    Peccato che facendo queste cose ci si crepa giornalmente ma l'importante è non parlarne altrimenti il turismo sacro ne risente $$$$ :
