Yess! And she needs to let the baby girl talk go, because her singing shows her real voice. Enough with acting like a little girl and allowing herself to grow up, be an adult and be treated like one! The world will love her for the real her, she doesnât need the baby girl protection anymore! I love her voice and the coaches in AI will help her a lot. She just needs to open up and let the air carry her strong voice - sheâs got it!

Disagree. That was difficult to watch. Sheâs now suing American Idol for ânot paying her and unfair labor practice.â Iâm thinking we have some underlying mental health issues here unfortunately.

I went to school with her for just one year. Think it was junior high. She was a tough chick in school, i remember. I was always the shortest one in class and quiet-She stood up for me many times †The second i saw her face singing on a youtube reel, i blurted out NORMANDYYYY!!!!!

I'm thinking that the little girl is the persona she has choosen to go trough life. Even if it looks cute, there must've been something reallly strong that impacted on her and made her be like that. Not saying it's wrong or bad, just pointing a fact xD

@@renro4435 I agree - I've seen grown women who speak with little girl voices - and then I later find out that she suffered a colossal psychological trauma as a child that delayed her psychological development so that she continues to speak like a little girl.

@@smoothpants Right...someone commented that I'm damaged by making such a statement...People can be so naive when it comes to these shows..She was wearing bunny crocs and carry a carrot bag...someone really wanted to stand out. I'm surprised the judges fell for it...but viewers loved the reveal....stupid as all get out.

She has what very few have, she is very talented, in other words, she has charisma. No matter the audience or setting-she draws people in & can totally motivate a crowd, itâs a God given talent in singing & speaking. Go far Girl, the sky is the limit!
Normandy's got a better, more characterful and colourful voice than ms perry; and she has more power, and a rasp to her voice. Oh, more dynamic range nuance etc

I think this lady is smart. She just cracked the code of American Idol. Not sure if her speaking voice is real or not but she knew she would be put in front of the judges regardless due to it. Also knowing that she sings decent will entrigue them because they are not going to understand what is going on and want to keep her around to see what happens later in the competition. Along with this personality they don't understand to accompany it.

I'm glad someone said it! I think it's a gimmick. But more power to her if it works. She has a good voice but to me doesn't stand out more than anyone else except that her talking voice just brings more attention to it.

It's the voice of a little girl that was hurt. Someone did her very wrong as a child, and not she's trying to take back her innocence. This is so sad, and people think it's funny because they don't understand this is from trauma.

Im sorry but I was glued to the screen as soon as she stepped in. Talking, singing, the whole package. She is so interesting. Best singer? No and I didnt care. I love her. I love what she did with Proud Mary. So quirky. Love it!!! Btw I peed my pants at the Russian model accent. I know its an audition but I didnât like when Katy was pushing her to belt it. Thats not what she is about!!!! Let her do her stuff!!! I liked when Luke said : we are not laughing at you we are laughing because youre kinda amazing. Yep.
I think Katy was trying to get her to extend her phrasing, she wouldnât finish the phrasing of the lyric and let the note extend instead of get cut off.

there was a singer back in my clubbing days named MiChelle and she spoke like Normandy but when she sang your like, wow. When she comes out of her shell she will amaze us all. Also very similar to Bernadette Peters

Her real name is Normandy Vamos - she's actually a voice actor already. I doubt this is her actual voice or persona as she has removed all trace of herself off the internet for the past couple of years even though she's been trying to become a singer for much longer under her full name.

She's holding back so much so it's hard to tell how she might really progress as a singer. She might not be ready now but she soon will, I think.
Thatâs all Iâve been trying to say. They didnât really give her time or a good song choice to find her voice.
She's putting on an affectation, so it's hard to maintain that fake "singer's accent" while really opening up your mouth. She's also not super comfortable with her mix and head voice, so she can't project when the song is riding over her bridge and reaching a range that's not suited to a chesty approach. There's a lot going on here and I wish they just had her sing some scales, given her the advice on that and had her apply it to the song afterwards.

Oh wow, when she lets her soul sings she SOARS!! I hope they can help bring that soul out so much that she steps into it when she's not singing too. I want to hear her sing more. đđ„°

Lol I absolutely love her voice. Her regular voice is cute, sounds like a Japanese anime character. Then when she sings, it's like her fully confident alter ego awakens.... which is definitely one of the best singing voices out there. And like the previous top comment said, if she doesn't make a career in singing, she certainly will make an excellent voice actor :).

High pitched voices typically reflect a confidence/self esteem issue, but holy cow, her confidence and self esteem are all there in her singing voice and it is CLEARLY her place of peace in her life.

I was always impressed with her voice, too bad i wasn't able to adapt to her work flow cause i do 80's retro music and she wanted to do a crossover Disney voice and pop modern music which is very unique to her style. Glad to see her on American Idol after many yrs! đ đŒ đ€
