I am an American from Vermont and I am proud to be of Quebecois heritage, half of my roots are Quebecois (while the other half are Old Stock/Anglo American). I am proud to have Quebec as my neighbor and share Lake Champlain with you, when I look at the beauty of Montreal or the blue fleur de lis flag I am proud that is part of my heritage.
I hope someday that my cousins to the north can have their own country independent someday, its not wrong to want to be sovereign over yourselves. Its not wrong when you want Quebec to keep its culture or get upset when Anglo-Canadians don't even try to learn French or attempt to speak it yet expect you to be fluent in English. Despite so many Quebecois coming here, we lost our language and so much of our culture; I wish I spoke French but was never taught nor was my parents or grandparents, my great-grandparents never taught them. DON'T LOSE YOUR CULTURE AND LANGUAGE, DON'T LOSE WHAT MAKES YOU DISTINCT AND SPECIAL FROM THE REST OF NORTH AMERICA! You aren't Anglo-Canada or the United States, and thats okay because Quebec and her people are great and beautiful and rich in history without needing to be something else other than Quebec

Yes it's used with a capital letter to designate something specific. But it also means something and that meaning can be translated.

I mean Quebec is a big part of what now is Canada, in a literal sense and in a cultural sense... Think about it, the first provinces were Ontario, Quebec New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. In other words, Ontario, Quebec and Acadia which back then was much more French although still with some English ofc. so it used to be just Ontario then the French. and up until relatively recently in our history, Montreal was the biggest city in Canada. these are the reasons why these Quebecois things became Canadian not to mention Montreal was the most international city in Canada up until recently as well. Because Quebec is so integral to modern-day Canada and still makes up nearly 25% of the population these "Quebec things" easily manage to become Canadian.
I love Quebec which is why I'm saying this. ofc Eglish speaking Canadians have wronged Quebecois and Acadians very much so. but in the early ages of Canada when we carved out what would be Canadian Culture Quebec and French Canada were much more dominant so I wouldn't really call it appropriation, Quebec just has or had a strong cultural pull on Canadians.

Je pense que c'est mieux si le Québec reste au sein du Canada. Il y aura des mauvaises conséquences économiques en étant indépendant. Je suis un anglophone qui est né au Québec et je me considère fièrement Canadien et Québécois. Je ne veux pas que le Canada soit détruit parce que c'est un bon pays. Cependent, j'ai beaucoup d'émpathie pour les séparatistes à cause du fait que j'ai appris beaucoup de l'histoire du Québec. Je suis d'accord que le Québec doit être plus respecté par le Canada et les gens qui choissisent de vivre au Québec doivent apprendre le français. Je suis en faveur de l'idée que les écoles primaires et secondaires anglophones devraient être abolis pour assurer que les gens qui viennent au Québec sont obligés d'apprendre le français, cela donnerait plus de protection à la langue française. Le Québec devrait l'autonomie maximum au sein du Canada. Ça, c'est seulement mon opinion et point de vue.

I live in quebec and despite the fact that it receives the most money from the government its still poorly managed. As an independent country it wouldn't last 5 minutes
Most of the money it receives is paid by Quebecers (The government's money comes from the people) and per head Quebec does not receive the most money, which is used for public services and mostly goes to the elderly and minorities. We have alot of Liberal corruption and an independent Quebec would not be Liberal. Talking about Liberals, perequations are bullshit, they are an illusion to make the unintelligent masses vote federal. Honestly as a French Canadian I would vote to make perequations a thing of the past.
If we put perequation beside, Alberta actually receives much more from the federal to boost its economy through projects (Such as the 17,1 billions $ Trans-Mountain project), while the money that Quebec receives does not boost Quebec's economy and in fact causes poverty by increasing the demand for services. While Alberta and friends was built by external wealth most of what we have here in Quebec is built by us with our own wealth, the federal government gives us the short end of the stick when it comes to devellopment. We even had Trudeau Sr trying to fuck our economy at one point and causes high rates of welfare (Up to 20%) because we were going away from his naive vision of a rainbow Canada.
