Nadaswaram, Nagaswaram, Nadhaswaram or Nathaswaram, is a double reed wind instrument. It is a traditional classical instrument originated in Tamil Nadu and also used in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala (India). This instrument is "among the world's loudest non-brass acoustic instruments". It is a wind instrument similar to the North Indian shehnai but much longer, with a hardwood body and a large flaring bell made of wood or metal.
Namagiripettai K Krishnan (April 2, 1924 - April 2, 2001) was a Carnatic musician who played the Nadaswaram. He was born in Sendamangalam village and lived in Namagiripettai, Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu, India. - Hudba

Namagiri pettai Krishnan along with Karukkuruchi Arunachalam and T.N. Rajaratnam Pillai were considered as the best Nadaswara Vidhwans till the arrival of Sheikh Chinna Moulana Sahib and thereafter a few others like M.P.N. Brothers.
Unfortunately, not much was heard of Namagiripettai Krishnan later on.
But he remains among the best Nadaswara Vidhwans of that golden era.
thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed it ||
