Thank you SO MUCH for an actual honest review of a bike "flaw", I have yet to see another reviewer talk about this. You actually may have caused me to buy this bike, as I was up in the air between this and the 700clx since it is so much bike for so cheap. You need proper respect from CFMOTO for this, FWIW.
I have a 2018 Duke 790 with the track package (optional but not necessary for wheelies). You have to disable MTC+MSR (Traction control + engine braking), and ABS completely. There is an option if you get the track package to put ABS in supermoto mode which disables the ABS on the rear brake only, but this doesn't let you clutch up for some reason. The bike wheelies effortleslly once you do those two things. Power wheelies in 3rd, clutch up even in 4th with a bit of pulling. I don't know about the 800NK and the new "torque monitoring system" but what I noticed in the video is that you tried to wheelie at high speeds and high revs. It's a 2cyl crossplane bike, the torque curve peaks @9000rpm but the grunt of the bike is down low at around 4000-4500rpm. Put the bike in street mode and try clutch-ups in 2nd gear around 4500rpm. Just be careful, it takes some time to adjust to the ride-by-wire throttle.

I was talking with a buddy and I would love a v4 but have it be an 800 or 900cc. That’s just an example but it would be cool for them to take the market with unique engines that really spice up the market.
So how similar is the 450nk compared to the duke 390? I imagine it’s a different motor completely but is the frame the same? As you mentioned this is kind of a redone Duke?
i have heard from people who rode both is that the duke is more jerky and has more vibration issues. the 450 also has better sound imo. probably good to ride both though just to choose the one you like better.
@@donderstorm1845 Remember, the Duke is a thumper, so will have those kind of vibrations, while the 450 is a twin and has some better balancing. No brainer that the 450 sound is nothing short of AMAZING, by far the BEST sounding low CC bike in existence. This is the quintessential beginner bike that the rider will never get rid of, this is something special that the Ninja missed. Yoshi exhaust for the 450's FTW.
I have a cfmoto 650nk and i can't get the wheel to come up either. Please if you find out let me or us know what you did. Im going to do some research myself
Hey guys, I believe KTM has (or at least had a year ago when I was looking at a new Duke 890) an optional electronics package which let's you change all the rider aids, for example traction control, and without this package you basically can't change them only toggle all assists on or off. Maybe CFMoto has something similar or is working on that?
CFMOTO has an “advanced” version of the 800nk in other countries. Perhaps it has that feature and way may see this version in the future. But for now this is all you can do. I really think they should put out an update ecu flash that gives you more options.
@@TheGardenSnake I can confirm this is not the case, I have the advanced and it has the same rider modes as the standard one you have. And I also have the same torque monitoring issues :(
@@TheGardenSnake I have the advanced version its the same bike with QS, steering damper , a big ol screen that u can use apple carplay with ( sadly no android auto) and u can connect it with your phone for your ride data or use it as a key and more.. Otherwise its the same bike with the same ecu tuning/settings

I sold it a year later.. just picked up my second bike.. the same one u had as your first bike 2001 yammy yzf r6.. it was in peices... just got it running yesterday and took it for its first back from the dead maiden voyage😆leaking oil like hell... no muffler... naked... bout to strap a led Headlight on it and keep going😁i would pay to have you test ride it and give me ur 2 cents😆lots of work left do do still to be able to drive it legally.. but we'll get there

I have a KTM SMCR 690 and I can verify that KTM engines sound like 💩. I'm always thinking my bike is gonna start spitting bolts out the exhaust. It just sounds like a bag of bolts bouncing around inside there
CFMOTO recently released the latest 2024 model of 800NK, which has improved some electronic control systems, such as TCS straight line + curve, ABS brake straight line + curve, WC anti-wheeling system, DTC torque control... The price of the new model is a little lower than the old one, and the price is 4868USD.

Nice testing on the wheelies and removing the fuses. Would like to know what's the workaround for that before owning one.
The workaround would likely be a custom tune on the bike, I am sure it can be done since it seems to have the 790 Duke TC module/system in there.

I have the 800NK Advanced and i love this motorcycle!
I have a 2018 Duke 790 with the track package (optional but not necessary for wheelies).

The 450nk seems to be a CFMOTO ground up bike. Could be wrong but it appears that way.

My only real concern would be getting parts when something does break. Is it as easy as getting yamaha parts?
They sell them at the same dealership that sales Yamahas for myself. Parts are not a problem from what I’m told.
How do you think the long term reliabity is going to be?
I'm questionable on the motor. I hope they've worked out the issues. Otherwise I bet it's fine but time will tell.

My Ducati 821 will not clutch up it cuts the power or something but it will power wheelie. Must be something similar to what this bike has
The Ducati monster press bike I had was also the same and I believe they too use Bosh ecu’s. Super annoying.
