I had always struggled a lot with the endgame. But I feel more confident after learning the 6 knight mating pattern.
I was previously only confident with the 7 knight mating pattern, but this video has given me great guidance. Also I know now something about spongy stuff with nosebleeds.
For me, I'm the opposite. My openings are quite bad but my endgames are quite good
@@adityaprabhaveanbalagan5496 i see you were already aware of the 6 knight mating pattern
Omfg god guys stop it😂
A man of culture only need 6 knights. And perhaps a cup of tea. Jolly good video, bravo.

Ah, the 6 Knight pattern, also known as Mongolian Gambit
It's a good one
Lol
XD
why did i search that up.
@@mysterymatt4761 you should absolutely search that up, in fact it was inspired after the great horse-riding skills of the mongolians and as you can see from hikaru's mating net, the horses absolutely rain hell upon the enemy's king which shows the extreme potential of the gambit while it having very low amount of theory

How to beat a 400 player
Step 1: Play safe and for development
Step 2: Get 6 (hopefully 7) knights on the board
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Checkmate
Always hoping for 7 knights
You can actually do it with five knights but it’s way more efficient with 7

This is a solid example of why I think levy is a better chess CZcamsr. On top of being entertaining and charismatic, levy always stays on topic and actually knows how to teach. I usually only watch Hikaru not for anything quality or entertainment but just to watch a top chess player.

400 to 1200 is not "quite a bit" moron
seems like they sort of stagnated. they're still playin tho. nice to see improvement
Honestly, that was a very strong peformance by a 368 rated player. He made a couple of good moves and didn't hang too much. I would crush most 400 rated players in a much more brutal way and I am only rated 900 in blitz.
500 elo difference is huge, obviously you would win most of the time
@@fedem8229 Yeah but he preformed very well. Better than most 500s who would hang their queen 20 times in a game.
The beginners are the most dangerous😀
@@psychicspy1234 because they will come up with agressive ideas very early. "I used to attack because thats the only thing i knew - Now i attack because its the thing that works best"
ye, that guy is definitely not a 400, probably just new account, i would guess atleast 800 for him. He was just playing solid moves and that by itself crushes every 400, since 400s just blunder everything
It's nice how he encourages and congratulates his opponent at the end for the good game. Hikaru is such a great guy, so humble..

Bourhinorc I care
@@bourhinorc1421 i was quoting hikaru to show he is not humble
Even though Nakamura won this game with less than a percent of his attention and even made it more difficult for himself than his opponent could, he did not verbally burn his opponent to the ground but instead chose to praise the good moves and give him/her some encouragement. I like that.
I do too. But come on, how fragile would your ego have to be to bash a 400 level player.
@@kevinklassen4328 I agree, but I am sure there are plenty of (lesser) players who would, especially online.

Yeah he's a good winner. Some people forget it's possible to be a sore winner almost as easily as a sore loser.
That person played really well, honestly. Especially for their rating. I hope they go far.
there is no chance that is their actual rating. its another smurf keeping his rating low so that he can crush beginner players.
wow, way to remain positive. Take that somewhere else.
@@orionfire1947 he’s right though. I dropped down to 400 and it was much more difficult then the 600-900 range. People Smurf…
All assumptions but based on what exactly? Why cant they just do well? Why does it always have to be something its not?
Check yourselves at minimum and question this thought process or you yourself will never improve.
@@orionfire1947 based on personal experience playing people of that rating and around that rating. “Why does it always have to be something it’s not”… this is an observation based on our own experiences. Step by Step is a great idea for a series.
They can make them day by day
It is very nice to see a GM as Hikaru, paying so close attention and eplaining the game thoroughly to players with such a low rating. One can say tht this is very instructive.
He's literally talking about random shit throughout.
He pre-moved 10 steps ahead for the entire middle and end games while talking about FIDE politics concerning Magnus and Wesley. I'm not saying it wasn't instructive but he was doing none of the explanation and close attention to detail your comment suggests.
There should be a game mode where the pieces look like a different one (e.g. knight looks like rook, queen looks like king etc) and call it “camouflage”. Openings would be easy but it could get confusing mid-end game.
Take your pill and go to sleep.

Very nice videos GMHikaru !
( People who play chess on insane level inspire me. To play it and forget about become a master as well )

the 400 elo madlad actually lasted through the middlegame with hikaru, and that is impressive enough in my opinion
Hikaru out here with the horses like Genghis Pawn
Hikaru is a gift to society - sharing his chess brilliance as an act of charity to the world thank you
@@tabularasa9576 look first you have nasty farts and you know it. Secondly, a gift isn’t always materialistic. Knowledge can be a gift too. Einstein gave the human race or should I say, society, many gifts. Hikaru is the Einstein of chess in this analogy, sharing his knowledge of chess with anyone who’s willing to listen and learn.
@@chrisgood9715 while making lots of money, Einstein didn't.
Lol money is a reward when gained by honest means and is merely the representation of proof of what one has done for his fellow man.
If you mow someone’s lawn and wish to exchange your labor for another good or service the proof that you had done something for your fellow man is represented in coin .
Hikaru earns money because it is his reward and proof that he has shared his knowledge and creativity with his fellow man.
Money is not evil , the love of it is. Man should receive and enjoy the fruits of his labor , it does not prove greed or disprove the act of sharing one’s gift or gifts

Saludos Maestro desde Quílmes Buenos Aires Argentina! ! !
The draw offer made me laugh, I feel bad because he didn't know who he was playing against.
That 400 guy: Damn the opponent must be a gm or something.
I'm not scared of any horror games, the only thing i'm scared of is only having a king and 7 knights chasing me, while my resign button won't work
I know this is old but if anyone sees this, at 8:12 is knight c7 not a free rook? If the rook is moved then a fork between the king and other rook by knight e6 still wins a rook right?
You are right. The opponent could push the pawn attacking hikaru rook but he would just move and then fork after black rook moves. I can't see a way out for black. His best option seems just let the knight take and after rook takes knight he would "control" the a file
Seems like such a nice guy
