The root of the issue is Trump’s disdain for people in lower tax brackets than him. His “vision” for his casinos was to make them exclusive for the “high rollers.” But unlike other casinos that provide complimentary benefits for being in their high roller clubs, the benefits of Trump’s casinos were rather subpar by comparison. Plus his cheapening out on the casinos’ staff lead to very low quality service and maintenance that just made people less willing to visit. In summary, he wanted to attract rich clients while treating them like poor clients.

Let's not forget all the cities owed money for providing security at his rallies or the multitude of vendors and contractors who serviced his hotels and casinos that had to settle for pennies on the dollar or face litigation.

In 08 or 09 I read an article about the businesses Trump ruined (as mentioned in comments above). I felt like his methods were uniquely anti-American. His team of lawyers were usually able to get him off without any repercussions.

That needs to be talked about more. I know in the 70's one of the 1st buildings he had built, Trump senior had to bail him out by paying off all the contactors he ripped off. Some of these people lost the businesses they worked hard to build. The contactors used their own money to pay for the materials and labor, his excuse was they did not do a good job. When you get permits an inspector inspects the work. Trump has supposedly paid off inspectors also.
