This is a great project and it will be an awesome kit fox! I love all of your custom designed work. You’re like the Mike Patey of the normal guy budget world 🤟🏽😎. I might have to buy this from you when it’s finished 😁
Yes!!! I think your general audience enjoys the talking and blabbing around. It builds a personal relationship with you and your thought process behind your build, you have great ideas and great videos man!!
Enjoy and learn a lot from the walk around and sharing your process...I just brought home a KF 4 1050 project, has a low time grey head so your videos are helping my planning immensely...I see 912uls installed in my model and have thought's along the line of "why not an Apex" I'm looking for a solo use plane and coming from a Continental - Lyc. backround the idea of being able to throttle back a bit at cruise seems like a plus. Keep up the work Ben...helps us little guys a lot.
My dad and I are thinking about taking on a kit plane, a Kitfox or Zenith. We like the STOL style since he's got a rougher patch of field we could use as a runway. Build videos like this are super helpful to get us thinking and have inspiration.
Yes Ben, keep up the detail walk arounds inside the hanger on the build and the different thought processes you go through to choose different things of the build. I'm sure other Aviators and builders appreciate as I what you do and share with us thx again. CFIAM/A&P JOE COVINO, Lake Havasu, Arizona.
awesome build - this is going to be one sweet plane - one other option is to sweep the wings forward 1 degree. I have a Kitfox V with that option and it really makes a big difference in the weight and balance.
Nice video!! Great job with the design work! Nothing better than a good project. I haven’t forgot about the floats, just waiting for you to deliver them! Lol can’t get away from the lake !!!!
Understatement of the year, “ I really think this plane will be a performer “!😂 That thing is going to climb 1800 fpm solo! Maybe more, and will cruise 100
Good stuff Ben! I like the Yammer Hammers to. I'm an old snobeeler, mostly two cycles though. Shoot! I just missed a 90 kitfox airframe for cheap a while ago and haven't found another, yet, still lookin tho. I'll be watching how the apex comes out. Thanks
There's always something like the Unpanel made by a company called Avilution I've seen in some Zenith videos. I'm not sure of its cost compared to what you are trying to do but it's a nice big display that can be moved side to side and gives amazing forward visibility.
My third comment 😁… not sure if it’s me or just the videos that I see from you, Trent and other Kitfox guys? If you want your wheels off the ground ASAP, hold the stick back, not all the way just to get a three point takeoff. The airplane will fly as soon as it’s ready, not when you tell it to by putting it on the mains. As soon as the airplane is off the ground, it is in your control to adjust for a rate of climb. I fly a cub with 65 hp and get off way shorter than others with the same airplane and the same engine with this method at the same airport on the same day. Give it a try if you haven’t. Just my 2.5 cents 👍🏽👍🏽
Ive tried just about every way in a kitfox. Nose forward then rotate at set speed with full flap yank and given me the shortest results. ill give that way a try again next time.
My second comment… Yes, I enjoy the details. Even more detail would be great. I’d love to see how you do your engineering and running your CAD program and 3-D printer. Sorry, I think I just gave you another 10 or 20 hours of editing work 😵
I biult a kitfox mk3 brought kit it in 1990 complete in 93 realy enjoy building it but sadly it bit me low hours as a pilot and the aircrafts lack of direction control at low landing speeds I did a inverted stalled spin hitting the ground nose first lucky we were OK
Depends on how much you build vs buy. You can build your own engine mount, exhaust, harness, airbox, etc or buy all that off the shelf. Sled can be had for $2500-3500. The rest depends on if you want to fabricate or not.
@@bkairys Love the idea of the apex model 4, but the cowl really had me wondering if I could make it happen, do you have any plans to share your 3d models? Also I have a small CNC mill if you need helping making a part.
The cowl Im making is pretty specific to my engine mount and overall install. Its still in the works but let me know if it looks like something that might work for you when I get it done.
Want to see it ALL!
Flying is kewl, but sitting here in a chair cuts into of of the enjoyment.

Yes, I like the blabbing on your build, designing /building your on parts. Nice.
I really like how you are building that thing around the apex!
Awesome work! Building an Avid MKIV myself, and plan to do some custom work of my own so keep sharing!

Its awesome to see the progress
Nice Job ,some great ideas on the 4 build
Just want to say! Awesome channel!!
Do video your build. It is very interesting to see what you are doing/fabricating. 😉

Appreciate you explaining your though process.
This format is interesting, I appreciate the technical details.
I'm a year late to the party, but heck yes, I really enjoy the style of video you're making. I really like the work you're doing on the Kitfox too.

I want to see the building progress cause I am building.
I want to follow you with the shocks and the tires and brakes. thanks, Dave
I'll do an update soon, thx!
Keep talking!! That's the value of your vids!!

I prefer the build portion. Thanks for the update
I want to build a KitFox with this engine... I'lll be watching closely to see how it's done!
Love seeing the modifications.
Show progress and more engine details!
Hell yes you have some good ideas
icefishing ultralights is gonna be the SICKEST!
Love the build side of the video
Sounds a 🇱🇹 last name. Sveikis!
I just subscribed, because of the way you are doing your videos. Don't change anything.
I enjoy watching the build
Both these Fox's are sweet! Thanks for sharing
Love the ideas you're building into your apex!
Nice video, I'm looking at a older kitfox, it has a rotax 503, might have to have it changed for a better motor.
I watched the whole thing and enjoyed every bit of it you're doing a good job I wish I could be flying!

Awesome video! Would love to see videos of the build, and more of the phazer/fox flying.

info is great.
Definitely show the progress!!
I think that's a better option then the 582 ,I can see why they are discontinuing the 582
Ben, I enjoyed watching and I love your ideas.
Na dog, the shit you build is fascinating, doing things many of us wish we had the skills for

Enjoyed the talking 👍👍
Awesome build
so awesome love to see it
I know I'm a year late but out looks pretty cool lol
Looking good!
Like you blabbing keep up the information
I appreciate the videos, get the Kitfox flying. Have you progressed with the Phazer engine conversions.
Your back!!! Yay!
Would like more info on your “mini monster gear” mod. Have you tested the gear yet? Where could I get the plans & parts? Thanks for the great videos!
Any Apex Kitfox update videos/reviews?

Wow. Subscribed.
Badass build! Where you located I’ve got model Iv 1200 would love to have another fox to fly with!
Near 69G
Hello sir, can you give me the plans to build the metal structure? I will be thankful to you
Not my style of plane but looking good 👍
Not too much to gain with porting and cool air intake?
Why not use ftecu to disregard code 42?
AV-30? Tablet? Radio? Engine monitor? Missing anything?
Will be all in one glass panel efis ,radio, Ems unit. Its amazing whats available these days.
what is the cost to install a phazer in a kitfox 2

Are you using fusion or something similar for CAD?
Yes Fusion 360
