The prime indicator of being a child of God is the freedom from fear and self-survival mode.
The Bible says that in Christ, we have received a spirit of adoption, not a spirit of slavery leading to fear.
The Holy Spirit becomes our Advocate, fighting for us and healing our orphan heart when we receive Jesus as our Lord.
The Holy Spirit's responsibility is to glorify Jesus and sanctify us, removing the orphan and slave mentalities and replacing them with a mature understanding of our identity as sons and daughters of God.
The Holy Spirit drives us in the direction of knowing and loving God, teaching us how to relate to God not just as God, but as a Father.
Functionally living with an inheritance but with an orphan mentality keeps us from experiencing the fullness of what belongs to us in the kingdom of God.
God will never turn his back on you, once you are a child of God, you are always a child of God.
"If you just prayed that prayer I want you to know you are right now. A Child of God you've just got adopted by the creator of the universe and here's the promise he makes."
Orphans often struggle with forming attachments of love and intimacy, leading to psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
The orphan mentality causes you to be inauthentic and motivated by fear, just like a slave performing out of fear rather than faith and love.
