I wasnt going to watch this video because I know how to make pillows, but then I thought I would because I might pick up a tip. And I did. Thank you. Great idea using batting in the corners. Here is a tip I'd like to share with you that I started doing. Before I start hand sewing the opening in the back closed, I take a little scrap of the backing fabric and tuck it in that area to cover up the stuffing. It keeps the stuffing from pulling through while you are stitching up the back.

Just a suggestion…I use a press cloth between my iron and the interfacing…better for iron soleplate! Ask me how I know! It doesn't hurt to have a press cloth under the project too to save the surface you are pressing on from having the interfacing fused to it. Again, ask me how I know! 😉 Thanks for taking the time to share your finishing methods with us!

@@thevintagestitcher2022 After I posted this, I thought of something else…some put an old pillow case over the end of the ironing board when they are fusing something or using spray starch, etc. I’m heading in a while to do some sewing, but first I have to clean off a place on the bottom of my iron. 🙄

The last pillow I did I kept shoving that batting into the corners and it seemed to just keep sliding out. I will definitely try the batting and your finishing tutorial for my next pillow. Great tutorial! I never thought about making a seam in the back, I always cut a hole and stuffed it that way. The seam makes it more secure. Here's a little tip on how I cover the hole in the back....I use HeatnBond ironed on the back of matching fabric,( I'm assuming you can also iron it on the back of wool as well, I've not tried it before), I then trace my shape on the fabric, cut it out and then iron over the hole, it works great. Great tip on how to stuff the corners! Thank you

Funny you mentioned pins, I am a serious pinner, I use lots of pins when I sew, just me 😆 One question or advice, when you add your buttons to the back do you use the same glue? I have several jars of the clear and mother of pearl buttons that would look great. Just a thought since you mentioned finishing with some buttons. Thanks Arttie 🥰
