  • If you ever wanted to win by exiling all of your opponents permanents then this is the deck for you! If that doesn't result in them conceding on the spot you can always beat them down with enchantments turned creatures that have been returned from the graveyard thanks to the powerhouse card replenish. With access to all of the best enchantments and card draw of blue and white combined with acceleration from sol lands this deck is an absolute monster that can resist hate cards and shrug off removal easily.

    I'm so grateful to have found your channel. Premodern is such a cool, underrepresented format, and it's nice to have such informative, well-produced videos to introduce people (including myself!) to the format.

    I remember playing Replenish in Standard. Loved those days. Might have to sleeve this up and get some games in.

      It’s such a unique and cool deck. It’s also super powerful in premodern, I played it for a while and loved it

    I really love this deck and despite being what feels like the most expensive deck in premodern, it's so cool and unique that i feel it's worth it

    • @IPlayMagic
      @IPlayMagic  Před rokem

      Yeah, it's very expensive but a lot of the cards do have some crossover use, like intuition, the lands and the Parallax cards. It's just not as much as other decks

    So i have to say im holding priority and then target creatures?

    • @IPlayMagic
      @IPlayMagic  Před 2 měsíci

      I usually say “ I will target your creature and then before that resolves I will use the wave to target it’s self” In paper what usually happens is that you explain the combo and how it works if they don’t know it and then they exile all of their stuff. These days more people know about this interaction but you might have to go over it a few times and really explain how it works step by step to newer players

    Hi, I'm a long time magic player, and in a fast developing passion about this format.
    I like many archetypes, mostly standstill and control decks.
    I saw that is does exist the Trix archetype, and I really really liked that deck back in the day.
    You are an expert, so I am asking you, is this deck not very viable?
    Because I see is not very popular.
    If so, why do you think is not?
    What matchups are bad.
    Thank you in advance

    • @IPlayMagic
      @IPlayMagic  Před rokem

      I'd say that the deck isn't as powerful as others especially because a lot of the popular decks run disenchant main deck and the combo is slower than others. But you can definitely still do well with it. Some decks are stronger than others but the format is also a lot about knowing your deck very well and the matchups than playing 'the best deck'. For example a lot of newer players to the format don't do well with reactivate decks like landstill because it takes a long time to learn all the matchups and what to counter etc even if it is a very powerful deck

      @@IPlayMagic Thank you for your answer.
      What you say does make sense, unfortunately, because it is one of my fav combos of all time.
      I could still give it a try, but anyway, I will gonna gravitate towards the standstill/parallax archetype.
      Hope to see you playing with it, sometimes soon :)

    • @IPlayMagic

      You just remove the Parallax cards from play in response to exiling their stuff. The exile part and return part are 2 separate abilities so removing it in response causes the return part to happen first (nothing has been exiled yet so there's nothing to return) and then the exile part resolves exiling their stuff forever because the Parallax card is gone now so it will never be able to trigger the return part again (if you blink it then it counts as a new different card when it comes back).
      If it's still super confusing then just remember that the combo of the 2 parallaxes plus opalescence exiles all your stuff except artifacts 👍

    • @suntzu6122
      @suntzu6122 Před 6 měsíci

      When the wave leaves play it 'un-links' it from the 'when ~ leaves.. return stuff'. So when you remove stuff.. its gone for good.

    vs Gloom?

    • @IPlayMagic
      @IPlayMagic  Před rokem

      I am not 100% certain that gloom works this way but it seems like gloom would be good against it as I think it does require 3 mana to sacrifice seal of cleansing to kill it and makes relpenish cost 7. but I think it depends on the type of deck you are using it in. If replenish can untap then they can just pay 3 and exile it with wave or kill it with seal of cleansing and then exile either all of your stuff or at least a bunch of it.

      @@IPlayMagic swamp ritual and gloom will slow down this deck immensly tho.

    • @IPlayMagic
      @IPlayMagic  Před rokem

      @@gabrielesquaratti5709 all of the early wheel spinning cards are blue and tide is blue so they can still take out your lands on turn 3 and it makes finding seal of cleansing much more likely. Gloom slows the deck down a lot but I think youd probably need to be playing an aggro or combo deck so you can finish the game before they can use a seal or hit 7 mana to replenish. Plus gloom is a very narrow card that is only useful against a small number of decks that rarely see play so I think for now most people wouldnt use it because it's like wasting sideboard slots for matchups that you will probably not play against.
