That’s my FAVORITE stitch. I learned it as the Jamie blanket stitch. I’ve been waiting for years for you to do this tutorial as a project. The way it was made as a scallop on the edges of the blanket, starting each row with a chain of 2 and then proceed with a dc, ch2, 1sc. This stitch is also called the bushy stitch in the Readers Digest craft book from about 1975.
Exactly, userzp9! I’ve made many blankets with this stitch over the years!
I made chunky cowls years ago with this stich. Beautiful drape with #6 yarns, believe it or not.
You know your stich is it a quick one to do
AaahYes!! I remember it with those names! 👵🏻 I made the scallops on the side edges just as you did, and omitted any SC row at the beginning (worked pattern row into chains) so that it looked scalloped on all 4 sides. So very nice for scarves and blankets!! 👵🏻
Yes!!!! Some book’s reference small shell, bush stitch. This was all before the CGOA a stitch standards. ❤
Thank you sweetheart. Not many people I can listen to but you are one of my favourite people ♥️ love your tutorials and your work ❤️
Oh mercy me, I’m going to have to drop my other projects and start a blanket with this stitch! It’s just too beautiful to resist. Love the look of a sideways shell with this one. Thank you, Crystal! ❤❤❤
And this is why I have 12 things going at once because every day almost she has another one I want to try😂😂
Watched till the end, normal speed and absolutely appreciate that “Pro-Tip” at the end of the Video! Many thanks dear BOD!❤❤❤😊
I love the tutorials. I tell my friends I go The University of Bag O Day. My stitch dictionary has definitely increased with variety. Thanks
We love a 1 row repeat! Thank you so much Crystal. I watch your lives...the chat moves way too fast for me to keep up with but I'm there watching. I'm making a cardigan at the moment using one of your stitch tutorials and found your sizing tutorial really helpful. I really appreciate you & your positive energy 🙏❤️
I bought 10 boxes of yarn from the JoAnn's sale you told us about. I am having a difficult time picking patterns to use. Every time you show us a new pattern, it just gets HARDER!! LOL! Stop that!! Hahaha! Got 6 colors of Scarfie and want to show off the roving yarn. I'm thinking the Star stitch combo pattern you did in mustard for one. As soon as I finish my own afghan from TEMU yarn, I'll start using your patterns. This yarn you cannot take mistakes out, cuz of the thick halo. So just doing all DC. It is beautiful yarn. Cheap. But not quality. I'm so excited to start my REAL afgans!!! Thanks so much for your inspiration, Crystal!!! 😊 You have gotten me back to using yarns. I've been doing #10 Cotton thread doilies for 4 years now. I'm totally into afghans THIS year!! Everyone in my family will get one for Christmas this year!! You change lives!!! TFS!
Hugs from Austin TX USA
I recently found you. I have been crocheting for 50 years always using patterns. I found a scarf i wanted with no pattern. Your stitch tutorials are wonderful. They are helping me to make my scarf. I will be exploring your channel for a long time. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You are a great teacher
I love the way you show how to do your pattern you teach very well. I’m a beginner and I can follow that stitch. Thank you for sharing.
Such a pretty stitch and yarn color! I love learning new stitches and figuring out something to make with them. This one looks fun to do. I can see using this in a t-shirt or other top, putting a wide band of a less see-through stitch around the bust area. Just the second row of it would make a pretty border.
Hi Crystal, hope your ankle is healing fast, thank u Soo much for the video, your stitch is definitely ‼️ on my to do list for a blanket, have a nice night
They look like a top view of a rose! How beautiful!!
I will always follow how you do yours 😊. So I’ll watch again till I’m ready to crochet alongside with you 😊 thank you 🙏 😊
Pretty! I’m adding it to my list. 😊
I like that you show the option to straighten the side and finish the top. Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing your talents! I finally got smart and started doing a sample swatch like you. You can’t even imagine how many times I had to rip out a project because I didn’t know what I was doing wrong! lol. Makes all the difference in the world and I don’t get frustrated with it! Thanks again from Salt Lake City!!!!
Thank you Crystal. Great stitch and thank you for the tips on keeping a straight edge and straightening the top. You always have such great ideas for fixing things and you explain them so well. Also really appreciate that even with your demonstration you emphasize that it is still each person's choice.
This is beautiful. I will definitively have to make a blanket out of that stitch for my dog rescue fundraiser. Thank you Crystal for this beautiful and easy pattern.
Thanks Crystal! This is nice … love that it is the same on both sides. A blanket would be nice. Love the ombré colour. ❤❤❤
Wonderful demonstration of a fantastic stitch that is potato chip crochet. Perfect for movies or just relaxing. Mindless motion with a beautiful gratification ❤
You Amaze me Crystal.....so many beautiful stitches ❤
Thank you!
I am constantly amazed at you, Crystal. You are a genius at crocheting and the best crochet teacher in the universe. Right up there with Albert Einstein. How was i ever so lucky to find you?
This is a great stitch and I will try to make a simple kimono top for spring/summer to use as a cover up to throw on over a tank top if unexpected company comes. It's perfect for my needs and easy enough to do with my waning focus and concentration. Thank you! 💕💕💕
Hi, you could easily make a nice rectangle shawl out of this stitch, how she taught … either make it the width or length you’d like ( depending how you’d like the stitches to go) then make as many rows as you’d like… do the last row to even it out, n put a border on if you’d like..
I love one row repeats! IDK what I'm going to use it for, but I'm definitely trying to make a swatch just for fun! Not too long ago I started a "folder" on CZcams called "Favorite crochet stitches" and so far I think all the ones I've collected are from your channel. You are an excellent teacher, everything is always so clearly explained that even when I find other tutorials for the same stitches, I tend to go back and refer to your videos for clarification. And I love to hear your family in the background, like a REAL person. Love your channel and thank you so much!
Oh wow⚘️, I love the look of this stitch! I will use it for a scarf and a blanket! Thanks much for this!❤ I like that once you learn the stitch you can get your speed up and keep repeating it quickly. Thanks Crystal ⚘️
Oh my goodness. I love that stitch. I'm in the middle of making a sweater but now I want to rip it apart and make it with this stitch.
This is such a pretty stitch, and I DO love a one row repeat that I can do while I watch TV! Thanks, Crystal!

Very beautiful stitch! You an amazing teacher. This pattern is easy. I like 1 row repeats. Thank you Crystal
I love it, just what I've been searching for! One row repeat and not a yarn eater!!
Special thanks for showing how to straighten out the sides and the top, I too like straight edges, especially because I want to make a cardigan out of it.
What a pretty stich! Thank you Crystal. You always make new patterns so easy to follow ❤
Love this stitch. I wonder how it would look in a pastel pink yarn. For a long scarf. Looks like a new wip on the hook. Thank you, Crystal

Pattern
Great tutorial. Thank you. From my screen it looked like a C2C. Crazy, huh? It’s very pretty. I especially love the tips you share. Since I’m no longer a beginner, those tips come in handy when I want to play with my own designs from different stitches.
Oh, I feel a baby blanket coming on with this stitch. Thanks for sharing!
I just finished a shawl (your of course) and was looking for a blanket to make. Well 🎉you🎉 came up with this one. Thank you so much, it's greatly appreciated.
This is a beautiful stitch . I just finished a baby Afghan and I love it.
I love this stitch! I have a blanket to start next month and i had not dedided on a stitch. I think this is tge one!
Very pretty stitch! I like your cheat at the end of the row. I do not like a wonky edge. Thank you
Thank you for your tutorial, I’m doing a baby blanket today using this stitch. ❤❤❤
Very pretty. Reminds me a bit of the open oyster stitch, that of course, you have a tutorial for😜. Thanks for showing how to straighten out last row. I don’t mind the “scalloped” look at all but it makes me crazy when the starting row and last row are not the same (for scarves, blankets, etc.). Who could ask for anything more!
I twist my ankle a lot and when I do, I wear a soft brace and elevate my leg. This helps and I hope yours feels better. Pretty stitch !
Gorgeous stitch & I love the name of it! Ty Crystal! ✨✨✨
This will be the stitch for my next shawl. I really like it. Thank you so much.
I am currently making this and I am gonna do the ending like you 2 sc 2 together ❤❤thank you for all you do❤❤❤❤❤
I like this stitch! This might become my next blanket. Thanks again ❤
Beautiful stitches ❤ I want to make a scarf 🧣 with this pattern. Thanks Crystal. 😊
Absolutely beautiful Crystal another beautiful stitch to try🧡 stay safe and God Bless you and your family always 🙏🏽🕊️🤍
LOVE IT Really like way you do your own little hack to make the edges look straight. Thank you so much for showing this!! I know this is going to be right up there in my top five favs!! What I do to make the top and bottom look even, is I'll crochet a row of the stitch at what is now the bottom (or beginning row) row. Have I said that clear enough to understand? I hope so! lol Because it's really easy and I don't have to make a straiight row at the top. HOWEVER, it's good to know how to do that!!!
Very pretty. I'm going to change to this stitch for my square neck pullover
Yet another keeper! Thanks Crystal 😊
Beautiful stitch. I'll be using it on my next scarf. Thanks for the tutorial.
Crystal that is a very Beautiful stitch now I’m going to have to make something with this stitch and it’s going in my book of stitches thank you 😊 😊
