Another great detail relating to the two Jokers is how they address Batman. As convincing as Clayface was, he didn't nail their dynamic. While the real Joker always calls Batman "Bats", Clayface kept calling him "Batman".

So I wasn't the only one to notice this!
Something that really sold me instantly on the series was getting the characters so right, like all the characters don't do much of anything that you'd be like "they'd never do that" I felt like Batman and his rogues acted exactly right
I agree completely, Zach. There have only been a couple times I felt that way about the characters and I think one was in Asylum when Joker used the Titan.
Degenerate Jay I feel like they only did that so that Joker could be an actual physical threat against Batman.
I think the rivalry between Two-Fac and Catwoman was random and uncharacteristic
Also Harley Quinn in her DLC was kinda out of character

What i like about Arkhan City is the story and characters. Side missions were good. I also liked how you spot Hush and Azrael at the beginning of the story before meeting them later on
There's lots of great story beats and characters in the game. Good use of foreshadowing as well.
I know Floyd is in front of you in the processing centre, and Tommy is in the church when you get there for the first time, but unless I'm missing something the only times you can see Michael are when you are supposed to for his side mission
@@lukejennings1778When you enter Arkham City after exiting the elevator, if you look at the buildings, Azrael is on them watching. He then throws a smoke bomb and disappears.

What I kind found annoying about the Azrael and Hush side missions is that you had to physically find them instead of knowing where they are which required some luck at times

Must be a hard video because the entire game is a MASTERPIECE. One of the greatest games I’ve ever played.

It’s actually my least favorite in the series, but I think that’s cause I rushed through it to get to knight and use the bat tank. Also I didn’t understand why you were put in the prison until half way through so I couldn’t get immersed. After seeing this vid now o rlly want to go back and replay

I feel that the biggest thing they did wrong was that a bunch of it’s side missions was wander around, and if you get lucky you progress
My personal favorite thing is all the audio tapes from the character bios. In the tapes, each villain/antihero is being interviewed by Hugo strange, and the dialogue is so good, it fits into the story completely, it shows how strange controlled literally everything (or ras äl ghul), for example, he tell cat woman where to get her stuff back from two face, he tells two face about cat woman, and he tells penguin about the undercover cops, and the joker interview is my favorite. When talking to joker, strange gives him doctors in exchange for a piece of his past. The story joker then tells him is the exact story of “The Killing Joke”. Absolutely remarkably fantastic
For YEARS I never knew Arkham City had a grapple boost until my friend played for the first time when Epic made the games free. I always skipped the AR challenges and when my friend mentioned the grappel upgrade I was like "huh? what are you talking about?" I skipped over that upgrade for YEARS. I thought Origins was the first appearance because they just gave it to the player.
H- wha- how?! I swear there are achievements and upgrades mentioning and needing the grapnel boost
I think Catwoman’s inclusión on the main story was great. They didn’t just made her part of it as a cinematic character (like Robin), but a playable character. I like to play as her because she always feels refreshing. Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl are just way too similar to Batman. Of course, they have unique fighting styles and gadgets, but they’ve got the same ways of dealing with things as Batman does. Catwoman has her own ways and that’s too great to ignore.
- Mr. Freeze is great boss as he forces you to adapt new strategies
- Penguin looks grotesque and behaves just like violent gangster who tries to be something else
- Shitload of details
- Detective mode is actually real thing, not just mechanic in a game

That Mr. Freeze boss fight is one of the greatest boss fights in video game history.

Honestly I think it is a good battle but the point of why it happens is stupid the reason the battle happened was because mr. Freeze wanted his wife back and that was something that joker did so that battle was just there for a distraction
Love how you focus on Batman, City's my favorite as well
Something that I never see anyone talking about, is Gotham City in the background. I just absolutely love the gothic architecture of the buildings and how they literally scrape the sky with their massive scale, and on top of that the yellow-brownish color of the sky mixed with the lightning and with the spotlights creasing the sky just makes Gotham feel alive. Like if the city itself was its own character.
Thats the gotham city i wish we could have explored in Arkham Knight
Honorable mention has to be the 'Alternate ending' (even if it does get reset)

One of the biggest things for me was how differently Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman played compared to Batman. For example, combat with Batman can be finished quickly by getting as many thugs on the ground as possible then using a combo move. Robin, rather, used the snapflash to knock down a bunch of enemies and rack up points from ground pounds. Not having the smoke pellet as Nightwing or Catwoman makes escaping from enemies much harder than if you were Batman or Robin. And, although I wasn’t a fan, Catwoman’s movement is so incredibly different from the other three. But just the fact that they gave each individual character different gadgets is something that they just didn’t need to do. I know it was done in Knight but I feel that city just laid the ground work for it incredibly.

Just wanted to let you know I really enjoy the content from this channel. The style feels so genuine and like I’m in the room discussing the topics along with you.
One video suggestion I think you’d knock out of the park would be a top 10 gadgets (Batmobile/Batwing included) that need to be in the next Arkham game.

One of Reason why for me Arkham City is the Best Arkham Part is, because the Story has two mean Protagonist and how the Story of Batman and Catwoman fits together just perfectly!!! The Arkham City Version of Catwoman is also very close to the Comics and is my personal Favourite ( Extremly Sexy and hot )!!!
My personal 5 best Things what Batman: Arkham City did right:
1. The Story
2. The Posibility to play an second Charackter in the Story and the Charackter Catwoman itself
3. The Sidequest
4. The Feeling to be inside the Arkham City Prison
5. The diffrent Organisations who are in Arkham City who fight are a Gang War against echaover and there Henchman who talk about there Bosses and Events that happend shortly.
At a certain point early in the story, you can hear Harley in the room with Joker hint at the possibility of a second Joker.
Another great thing was the boss fights. They were all so unique and great
My personal favorite of the series as well. A natural and organic expansion upon Asylum that doesn’t implode from the weight of its own ambitions like Origins or Knight. I remember pre-ordering it for my Xbox 360 and playing it all night long and beating the storyline, and the morning after I finished it I stared at the TV screen while Joker sang “Only You” in the credits and I legitimately cried like a baby as it set in that Joker was dead. My favorite in the series, for sure, and probably my favorite game of all time.
I've played the story over about 4 or 5 times since it came out and even maxed maxed out the riddler stuff and man this game is so good. Truly a masterpiece.
While its open world wasnt the biggest, Arkham City is the most well designed out of three free roam games. Every section feels maticulously designed, there's Easter eggs everywhere, and every area feels well done and manages to be different. The fact that this open world rivals the Asylum is breathtaking.

Hahaha I always get a dislike or 2. They essentially follow me to do that. I find it really amusing more than anything since the engagement helps my channel more than leaving the Like ratio at 100% would.

That's true the character models for everyone are pretty good, especially the girls. I think they looked better in the original mostly and I had to record Return to Arkham for this footage but they still all look good. It's impressive. I think the same about Knight especially as far as beautiful looking people and characters in the game.
Paul Dini was the (main?) writer for Asylum/City and the animated series.
Something that I don't like about the Arkham series in general as stealth games, is that the bosses of thugs alert them that you have killed a thug. It makes it so that you cannot go into a stealth situatuion plan out how you are gonna go through it and then execute the plan. That way your success no longer entirely depends on your ability to make a good plan, and to be able to execute it, but it depends a lot on luck. I know that this is very much intentional, and it is not a deal breaker for me in any way, I like it, but I just like the plan and exectute style of stealth more.

Damn it I love these games. City is definitely my favorite, only beating out Knight because of the story and my nostalgic connection. And, one thing you definitely could have mentioned: The Bosses. Honestly, all of City's bosses range from okay at worst to amazing at best, and I don't think you could say that about any other game.
So glad I found your channel, mate, I love seeing my favorite series actually getting attention. Especially since none of my friends have played the games, so I have nobody to talk to.

Arkham City is probably the one that I’ve played the most. I remember beating the main story 3 times in one week back in summer ‘12.

The only thing it did wrong was not being playable on the Soulja Boy Console at launch.
I want to start a gaming channel and I've played all the arkham games to completion multiple times out of boredom honestly but enjoyed them all nonetheless, I think Arkham Origins is alright, and I'd be more than willing after discovering your channel to play them all over again;) I'm pretty good reaching high combos in Jokers funhouse DLC in City;)

This is really new for an Arkham city video
The one thing I hate about asylum was that the snipers like instantly see you I mean they won't even be looking in the same direction as you but if you like on the ground near them they'll just instantly know where you are and then keep shooting you over and over again
I at least hope that the five things wrong with Asylum and City, as well as the five things right with Asylum are wrapped up before they revisit any other list.
I’d say the beginning was the best out of the Arkham series starting as Bruce Wayne stuck in Arkham city was cool
I did that detective mode during that fight but just thoughtful was a glitch or just didn’t think of it sadly not as good of a detective lol
In the next arkham game I want staro as one of the villans at leat as a side mission
I found the riddler trophies being to much in every game, besides origins i liked how theres data extortion packs and didnt have any of scanable areas, the scanable missions i have nothing against,but it feels to much and easily to forget the room with scanable thing in
One of things I absolutely despise in the remaster is that they didn't even bother about Arkham Island. No vines, any building lights and the entire west section of the island is missing. Just wish they gave where it all began some love, dunno how they screwed it up so bad. Apart from that though, it's one of the best Arkham games.

The best thing about this game is definitely some of the scenes. I remember playing this the 100th time wit my cousin and me and him would recite the lines as they happened lol, and the world is easily the most memorable for me
Not completely related to arkham city but anyone else find it weird that until arkham knight Man-Bat was was barely even hinted at not even given a character bio? Idk just always thought it was done for a reason like he would have a major impact in a future story kinda like jason todd but his appearance in the series was just disappointing like they forgot about him and then just threw him in at the end with no real impact on anything

I want them to connect all the Arkham maps have a new part of Gotham and still be able to go to the map of knight then take the bat boat to Arkham origins and city
I hate fortnight Give me a reason why i shouldn’t I think that they shouldn’t bring back asylum and blackgate tho. Asylum we needed in one game and they gave it us in Knight in a good way but bringing it back again would be repetitive. If they bring back blackgate it would be boring. But a way I feel they can do a good way to bring one of those spots back is if u can bring the criminals u capture their and put them in their own cells. Just like the GCPD in Knight

The one problem I had with Asylum’s traversal was how the grapple hook doesn’t automatically pick a ledge above you. You had to look at it, and sometimes it would be very picky with it in that you had to position it perfectly. A small thing I didn’t like about it. I feel like City greatly improved on that
If only we had all those skins from Arkham Knight. I want to run around as the Keaton or Bale Batman outfits!
Also you can hear Harley the first time your in the steel mill say that joker looks perfect then says that it wasn’t him and he tells her to shut up
I think the other thing it did right was making the combat faster with takedowns and faster quickfire so straight up combat was more fun

I still think I love that they kill Joker off in this game, he’s always focused as the main villain in Batman games and it’s nice to see him take a side seat in the series and giving other people a chance to challenge Batman in new ways
I played all 4 games completid 3 of the 4 the I haven't completed arkham asylum ( yeah the first game that made haven't done makes perfect sense )
Is there anyone who thinks the traversal is too reliant on gliding in knight? I loved gliding, but felt the batmobile should have been the definitive main form of travel.

Batman: Arkham City definitely the best Batman: Arkham game right next to Batman: Arkham Asylum. I also love Batman: Arkham Origins and enjoyed Batman: Arkham Knight, but Arkham City is my favorite.

I have to admit something: I like Origins better than Knight. Objectively, Knight is better, but I think the story in Knight is terrible besides Joker’s interferences.

I feel like to me atleast, arkham city was the sam raimi spiderman 2 of the arkham games
City used to be my favourite but after replaying asylum I think that's my favourite now. I just like how condensed the world is and the atmosphere is just amazing. Don't get me wrong tho, city is as close as you can get to perfection, but I just prefer Asylum. The combat obviously isn't as sophisticated yet and can be quite choppy at times, but still
