i heard this song before schrodinger's bakeneko and didn't think much of it then after FULLY getting into touhou, playing the games almost everyday and reading most of the music cds on the wiki, schrodinger's bakeneko is one of my favourite songs. i actually had to read the comments on schrodinger's bakeneko before i realised this was a remix of it lol
Just got into this game about a week and a half ago and instantly loved this song. This fight was well done. It was a great check to test the players knowledge of mechanics. Lost my first fight against her then reevaluated what I knew and beat her the second time with a better strategy. I wish I had a character with a type advantage against her that time but now I have Medicine. So everything is good. :D
Not even 20 minutes before I got to her fight on normal I joked to my friend that I won basically every fight by clicking master spark and wasn't sure what I was going to do when that wasn't going to cut it and I'd have to know how to actually engage with the mechanics. I mean master spark still helped even with the resist, but the majority of it was reimu pulling aggro and sanae healing her up. Though I had also gotten medicine off of my daily "free" pull and she pulled her weight just from using her skill and hiding in the backline

Just make sure you get lvl 5 spell card and you're good. Also its better if you have three character uses their last word spell card on Yukari to guarantee a win.

It feels so nostalgic looking through the comments about people struggling with Yukari, whereas now if you’ve been playing since launch, her and most other bosses are pushovers if you use maxed characters.
Only managed to beat Yukari on hard mode by spamming Yuyuko & Patchouli's spell cards since Yukari was weak to them. Can't wait what Lunatic is like once I reach higher levels.

Everyone's talking about the yukari boss fight but… Spoilers for Chapter 2 How about the fact that SWD!Marisa (Scarlet Witch of Dreams) has a Sun resistance, thus rendering the guest reimu nearly useless except for a def bot for your medicine (if you were lucky enough to get her)? Why is no one talking about this???.?
@@TotallyStatue I mean…yeah. My first real wall was the first battle with her in Ch.2 because Patchy was my only water and wood damage. And take note the game pulls a fast one on you by recommending metal type damage, when most metal options have a fire weakness. The game doesn't even tell you to bring someone with wood damage, and i only recently got medicine days after dealing with yukari and her infinite buffs. Patchy has been my mvp on my previous battles…QwQ
@@fordknievel2607 i don't have patch or medicine or yukari, and daiyousai is the only one with metal that i have, so because I don't use daiyousai, I just ignored her weaknesses I think i won from overleveling, when the game stopped allowing you to do stuff until you got a better player level I took that as "hey, get better and we'll give you more stuff to do", so i enhanced people all i could while waiting to level up.

Well, since everyone is talking about Yukari, I might as well share my experience. When I reached Yukari, I knew nothing about any kind of character upgrade. Half my team were good at using either star or fire breaks. Yukari resists both. I don't think I had any of her weaknesses too. So basically, I had to come back with more levels for that stage.
I remember when I was new... I got completely beaten.. my only units were Lily White,Seiran, Youmu,Reimu,Sanae and Marisa. I didn't know for the breaks back then,I have no max limit break, and she completely obliterated me until I tried again the next day with only guest reimu surviving. I really needed Help.
Even with max LB and awaken lvl 100 youmu, yukari is still annoying opponent to beat (with full auto), since if you fail to 1 shoot her with last word, you're 99% going to lose the battle
There is smart way to beat it. Personally I love the element system in Touhou Lost word, 5 phases requires you to picture pentagram and the circle around it, the connection feels smart, and Star, Moon, and Sun (light) cycle is traditional RPS system. Most character have one of 5 phases element and Light cycle paired, I think Yukari, Flandre, Remilia, and Patchouli breaks that convention, with Flandre, Remilia, and Yukari have 3 resistance and weakness paired while Patchouli have 5 resistance and 1 weakness (Marisa favoured element, Star).
It took unupgraded Reimu, Marisa and Luna at level 70 to beat her. And there were a couple times when I had to switch out characters just to get 3 stars.

Ironically, Lilly White of characters breaks this fight over their knee. Yukari gets bodied after like 2 turns with her.
Maybe that's because she feels too bad about bullying her and knows she needs to pass to progress, which would fit her cannon characteristic.
