ALL SOUNDS OF WINDOWS 95

Hello WinExp!,
It is September that means that I'm going to practice my idea in real.
I will upload each 2 days a new video about Windows all sounds to collect them into the new style of editing!
Today it is time for Windows 95!
Windows 95 is a consumer-oriented operating system developed by Microsoft as part of its Windows 9x family of operating systems. The first operating system in the 9x family, it is the successor to Windows 3.1x, and was released to manufacturing on August 15, 1995, and generally to retail on August 24, 1995.[4][5] Windows 95 merged Microsoft's formerly separate MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows products, and featured significant improvements over its predecessor, most notably in the graphical user interface (GUI) and in its simplified "plug-and-play" features. There were also major changes made to the core components of the operating system, such as moving from a mainly cooperatively multitasked 16-bit architecture to a 32-bit preemptive multitasking architecture, at least when running only 32-bit protected mode applications.

@@Gronk574 I think you may have a case of misplaced nostalgia, Win 95 was not so great. Win XP on the other hand, that was a genuinely amazing operating system... :)

The first operating system I used was Windows ME (Millennium Edition) but it’s still crazy how much variety Windows 95 had with these sounds. Out of any computers I’ve owned I’ve had a couple HP ones, first one I had Windows 7 and the other one I had Windows 8 on. Over the years the layouts, sounds, and functionality have been so different than it used to be even in the 2000s much less the 90s

Ah the memories of having sounds play for every single action you do on your pc. I wonder when it was we stopped using sounds for closing, maximizing, menu popups, etc.

I remember seeing a commercial computer on a ferry to Paros, Greece, in 1997 for Metaxa brandy which was interactive, allowing you to navigate through the menu, and every time you push a button you would hear the windows 95 startup sound. It is the most nostalgic thing to me and everytime i hear it, i get goosebumps.

I had so much silly fun as a middle-schooler programming these sounds on my Packard Bell PC in 1995-96. I think I had the default sounds for most categories except “Critical Stop” used the monkey scream from “Jungle”

Do you get any kind of sound lag? I have it on my desktop and always get a little lag on startup

@Rettke I haven't used it since the time I commented but I don't remember any issues with sound lag at all. If you mean the startup sound alone it may have waited until after Windows loaded up fully before eventually playing but other than that no issues that I can recall
