It's nice to watch Karsten Warholm training, quite impressive - however - what has the music accompanying the video to do with the 400m hurdler himself, or his training for that matter, just listen:
"I tried so hard and I got so far, but in the end it doesn't really matter...
I had to fall to lose it all but
in the end it doesn't even matter...."
Do these words fit Karsten Warholm? Or a motivational training video? And the second song:
"Thank God the brothers are on the rise now......."
And: "I'm going mainstream, I'm going mainstream, I'm going mainstream....."
Is the Norwegian Karsten Warholm an American 'brother' now, - and is he "going mainstream"?
Whether literally or metaphorically understood, this musical addition contradicts what Warholm the gutsy fighter does in practice on the track. I wonder at the fact that people at times seem to love lacing their track videos with distracting and irrelevant music. And this one here isn't all that bad as far as choice and volume goes, that is, compared to many other videos of this kind which often are so loud and silly that they disturb us so much that we can't enjoy the athletic activity we are invited to watch. Luckily this one isn't all that bad in that respect, but the lyrics....oi vee is mir. Lol. Aside from this, a nice video.

Yes - but sometimes people ought to choose what is their preference: posting music videos or, as in this case athletics videos. Like I already wrote: the lyrics doesn't fit the athlete, nor a motivational training video...if music at all then low key background music, the kind that does not interfere with what the video shows, the kind we hardly notice, but still contributes to the feel, the atmosphere of the video.

@@threemileteacher hmm... i believe he still trains like a decathlete, but that's no reason to believe that Benjamin doesn't train just as hard or even harder. we could both train the same way and still end up with different results.
