Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Growth is not achievable without leaving your comfort zone, so just do it!

Mayer thanks for being humble and talking good things about Ethiopia.
I mean all of it, love Ethiopia
On Ethiopian food, as a Kenyan married to an Ethiopian, you are preaching to the converted. Ethiopian cuisine is second to none. Watching you from London, UK.
Yup once you catch the bug, it is honestly hard to stay away from Ethiopian food, its too delicious
I'm delighted a CZcamsr and world traveler is showing Ethiopia's beauty. Sharing your experiences and promoting Ethiopia's rich culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes raises global awareness and admiration. Your videos and material teach people who have never visited Ethiopia about its vibrant cities, rich customs, and beautiful landscape. Ethiopia's unique qualities, especially Addis Ababa and other historic sites, help dispel preconceptions and show its true potential as a riveting destination. Your work can inspire others to visit Ethiopia and respect its people, heritage, and global accomplishments. Much respect!
Misir is lentils....the reason most vegan food like Shiro is common due to the 7 different fasting per year we do. Also Shiro and misir is more affordable.

She is very disciplined, Ethiopian woman
Most Ethiopian women are generally disciplined.
@Myer: wow - very nice. The food looks very appetizing too. Thanks for another positive view on Ethiopia. PS: "mitmita" = hot chili powder OR a spiced hot chili powder. Both "mitmita" & "ber-bere" [= paprika or mild chili powder] are mixed with some spices which originated mostly in the Indian Sub-continent. Some of these Indian spices include: cumin, cardamon, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, etc; and others such as garlic, onions, fenugreek, etc, which arrived in Ethiopia from east & western Asia. Of course, chili+chili powder, potatoes, etc, originated in Central & Southern America but got to Ethiopia via India too, along most of the mentioned spices. The ingredients for "shiro" & many of the lentils used in the "Ethiopian vegan dishes" are also a variation of the Indian "dhal dishes". All in all, what we call "the Ethiopian food/dishes" is basically an African/Ethiopian version of the "Indian curry dishes". A similar sharing of food culture also happens in Eastern African countries which border on the Indian Ocean & have had centuries-spanning trading contact with the Indian Sub-Continent [Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, Comoros, Madagascar, etc]. Thanks again & take care.
Interesting facts!
Maybe it's the other way around? Maybe it was exported to the subcontinent from Ancient Abyssinia
@@kida758 - do you mean "just like all those slaves exported by Abyssinia/Ethiopia to the Indian Sub-Continent where the earnings were used to import spices, clothes, cooking pots, Gujarati [Indian] stone masons who built The Gondar Castle & many orthodox churches, etc?". Yes, that was how Abyssinians/Ethiopians managed to import all those Indian spices, clothes, cooking pots, stone masons who built Godar Castle, etc. Do you want a reference to learn more about it? It will also tells you the number of slaves that Ethiopia/Abyssinia exported annually to the Indian Sub-Continent for centuries & what had happened to them. OK? Bye.

Mitmita means well ground pepper like really ground to the tiniest specks 🔔
Actually it is good to have dark streets as long as it is clean and comfortable.
Because 1. it reduces power consumption
2. U feel confident when U walk in the dark b/c no one notices U
3. it makes the buildings look color full and bold at night since no outside light is barrier
Mayr you are the baset man enamesghnalen all ethiopa people

True
Masha allah my bro
Bro ,I’m from Sydney ion your follower as well..that Tibs is (lamb) and mitimita means ( chilly )
Thanks so much for following the journey!
@coolnassa: himm, not really. In Amharic - aka in the highly contested/disputed official language in Ethiopia - "tibs" = "a roast" OR "roasted meat". This could be a "tibs" of beef, mutton/lamb (sheep's meat), chicken, pork, camel, donkey meat, horse meat, etc [ok, not the last two as eating a donkey's or horse's flesh is a taboo in Ethiopia. In Amharic, "lamb" OR "mutton" = "ye beg siga" [beg = sheep; siga = meat & "ye beg siga" = sheep's meat or mutton]. And, "ye beg tibs" = "lamb or mutton roast". OK? And that is just in the Amharic language, which is merely one of 80 so languages spoken in Ethiopia. Some of the languages in Ethiopia such as Tigringa [spoken in the northern province of Tigray & Eritrea], Afaan Oromo [spoken in central+southern+western Ethiopia, northern Kenya & parts of southern Somalia] & Af-Somali [spoken in much of eastern Ethiopia, Eastern Kenya & Somalia proper] .. are as important as the Amharic if not even more so given the millions who speak them BOTH within Ethiopia & in the neighbouring countries as well. Hubattee sharee tiyya? Dansaa. Bye.
btw, you two will make an amazing couple... just sayin 😍
Haha thanks but she’s my friend
Great experience,
My family we use to own restaurant in NY
Masha allah
Good job brother, When U eat any food wiz Mitmita or Awaze/ spicy sauce my advise 4 U, 1st take the pis of Injera or Bread then dip it 2 the Hut Sauce after to the Tibs or Shiro or anything Comes with it. Otherwise if u use it opposite way you get ASPIRATION. to be honest most of my ppls dont know about this sequence.
Thanks for this tip
Ethiopia loves you brother
I love ETHIOPIA
Mitmita is really hot/chili red pepper with various spices. Yes ቅቤ is purified butter like Ghee with added spices unlike ghee

Hi bro…thanks for ur videos…I see A A like a real…Bole … Piassa .. Merkato … thanks
Thanks for watching!
Could you tell me please wich camera 📷 do u use ?
Go Pro
Love your videos Myer one tip I see you lean in to the plate when you eat Ethiopian food because ppl eat together, it is rude in our culture when we eat we don’t lean in to the plate so that the food from you month don’t get back in the plate. First step grab the food with your right hand lean back, use your left hand in case of spells and eat. 👍👍👍
Good Tip Thank You!
Myer, your Amharic is ❤
Haha thank you! I try
I dream one day, Africa is united and connected with one railway, one currency, one passport.
