  • Although the ancient scriptural record known as the Book of Mormon contains profound doctrinal and theological content, it is foremost a history. Yet few studies analyze the Book of Mormon as a legitimate work of ancient history. This new publication "Mormon's Record" seeks to do just that, illuminating Mormon's prophetic timelines and his message to the modern world.

The Book of Mormon is about the doctrine of Jesus Christ.
    Which is...
-Faith in Jesus Christ (Hearken to his words, Hear him, Listen to a prophet's voice)
-Repentance (aligning with his will, accepting his offered covenants with a promise to do his will and not ours, loving others and forgiving them)
-Keeping the Commandments (submitting ourselves to doing His will, being faithful the our covenants and promises, loving God, and serving him)
-Receiving more of the Holy Ghost (joy, spiritual blessings, knowledge of God, spiritual gifts, added faith)
-And now, we love our neighbor... as we've already loved ourselves by Loving God with all that we have, our heart, soul, mind, might, and strength... by teaching them the doctrine of Jesus Christ that they might two obtain spiritual blessings.
By doing these things and enduring to the end and walking by this holy order every day, we will increase in holiness and become clean of our sins and the sins of others.
The doctrine of the devil is...the exact opposite.
-Pride and refusing to believe that Jesus Christ can help us or that his words are of worth.
-Contention and becoming angry at the word and angry at others for being good, aligning ourselves with the idols of the world/flesh
-Sin, seeking to build up our own earthly glory, seeking our will, loving the world, and seeking to satisfy our carnal desires.
-Receiving more of an evil spirit within us, changing us to be less holy and more carnal, devilish, temporal, and natural.
-And now, we hate our neighbor (as we have hated ourselves) by teaching them to do the same as us... luring them to the great and spacious building. and Destruction/spiritual death...
There is no other principle taught more than this in the Book of Mormon OR in any of the other books of scripture we cherish as Latter-day Saints. No other precept comes close to being taught more frequently, more fervently, and more clearly. As we search the scriptures and look for these two conflicting doctrines (said in more than 3,600 different ways over as many verses...in the Book of Mormon), we will come to know upon what hangs all the laws and the prophets... the first and second commandment... to Love God by keeping his commandments by our following the doctrine of Christ and to love our neighbor by teaching and helping them to do the same.
This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ... this is what the Book of Mormon's purpose is... to teach us how to obtain eternal life.
