While I do think that was an impressive board, if a deck has Dark Ruler in the starting hand, getting over it isn't that hard. I for one would have loved using my Blackwing deck against it. I'd have ended up with 2 unaffected towers, their biggest monster, and a 3200 atk omni negate, alongside a 3200 atk beatstick that also does burn damage.
Potentially +1 extra monster of theirs.
Of course, only if I draw one of my combo starters. Namely: Simoon, and a random blackwing to activate his effect. Alternatively, 2 random blackwings, and small world. Or 2 non-random blackwings, for the 2 card starter variant of the combo. Also, not getting screwed over by their solemn would have been a requirement.
You gave me some ideas. Gonna do a Blackwing video going second against a Snake-Eyes.
@@Tenshimaru Auster's graveyard effect works very nicely with some Full Armor Masters. So well in fact, that I'm confident it was made for this specific use-case, so we can steal any monster. Well, ones that are affected by monster effects at least.
I recommend running Sudri, Shamal, Simoon, Vata and Black Whirlwind at 3 for sure, those are some of the best cards you want to see in hand at the start. 1 or 2 Zephyros, 3 Small World, with Radian or something similar as a bridge, to get to Simoon with a better chance, 1 or 2 Harmatang, 1 or 2 Chinook, additionally if you want to use Raikiri, also Gale, at 1 or 2.
Nothung and Full Armor Master are probably the only Blackwing Extra Deck monsters that are not part of the Blackwing structure deck that you may want (and are higher than R rarity), (Other than Raikiri, but that one isn't really a necessity. I see some people using Hawk Joe as well, but unless you get hit by TCBOO, I don't see any use in that one.) so getting the 3 copies of the structure deck is definietly worth it if you want to build a blackwing deck. Harmatang's level changing effect can also be really handy, to make him work for a lot of combos, either as an enabler, or replacement tool, while he's also a free summon. I also saw some people include Wise Strix, which is not necessarily a bad idea, but I don't see how it'd help the combos in a meaningful way. Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss however, can be brought out easily with Orochi and BWD, while BWD can be freely summoned with Vata, and used as material for BWAD from the graveyard as well. So I definietly recommend adding those.

I meant activated Icejade waifu's effect in the Draw Phase.
Chaining is not necessarily in response to another card. You can chain in an open gamestate.

2. Cosmic blazar could still banish itself and comeback even under drnm, and opp doesn't have any card in field that could deal with it next turn and empty hand.
3. Drnm makes your opp take no dmg that turn.
4. They should just reborn quasar or other good cards instead of red eyes.
