Guatemala City - a Cosmopolitan Jewel!

- In this video, I showcase my beloved Guatemala City and demonstrate to the world how truly sophisticated and cosmopolitan it can be to live there. I do this almost hesitantly (Lol) because I have been keeping her a secret to myself all my life...
Monica and I will take you along with us as we shop at some of her finest locales like Oakland Mall, Ciudad Cayala and Fontabella Plaza. We will dine at some of Guatemala's best restaurants like Donde Mikels, Tre Fratelli, San Martin and Katok. We will visit the mountains overlooking Lake Amatitlan and venture into Guatemala's historical city center to visit her presidential palace and national Cathedral.
By the end of this video, my hope is that if you had any negative preconceived notions or false stereotypes about Guatemala being a dangerous place or a banana republic, your eyes will be wide open and you will discover how good life can be in Guatemala... a true cosmopolitan jewel worth visiting!

The kindness and humblness of the people is my favorite aspect of Guatemala as well.
Katok has great meats ....chorizos, longanizas, I always buy some to take home ...really authentic place. I stopped there in 1999 on my very first trip to Lake Atitlan..it hasnt changed much in all those years. Little did I know then I would move to a tiny town outside Antigua in 2004 full time. I came back every year and fell in love all over again. It is SUCH a beautiful place to live.
You are so right the meats are incredible at Katok! I also love their Sauco jelly and different perserves. Thank you so much for commenting. I loved reading about how you loved Guatemala so much you stay and set down roots there.

Exactly (Cabal) Luis! I couldn't have said it better myself. Tourist miss out on so much not spending a few days checking out Guatemala City before heading to Antigua.
Your video should get more views, I'd seen other negative videos on CZcams telling ppl how dirty and dangerous it is in guatemala city that they don't see that is far from the truth. This is a positive video and a good perspective. Guatemala can be magical
