It went a lot deeper than that, tours around the world and stand up specials. they only did two seasons because they have families. Jermaine is in a ton of stuff, a voice for Rick and Morty, a movie every couple years. Brett was in The Lord of the Rings. Those dudes can do anything they feel like. There Should Be a Flight Of the Conchords movie at some point.

Pretty much, it reminds me of Chappelle in some ways. Each of them toured and honed their skills, then used their talents in very creative ways.

It's Sellotape - a brand of tape.
Ah yes, it's definitely not sellotape, which makes much more sense given the context, and is definitely what he said. Obviously it's silent devil, which has 4 syllables rather than the 3 in sellotape, and is not in any of the lyrics, _anywhere,_ because that's what you heard and you obviously can't be wrong.
