I would like to see a video on what the Q-Pulse and Frequency are and how the settings affect their output. In relation to speed and power. The black is way too slow for engraving. Would take hours :(
I didn't get how you framed the template on the steel. Do you make a frame, then do the settings? thanks...
Hi - I used the Material Test under Laser Tools. This automatically makes the test squares with setting based on what I entered- from the Material Test screen I am also able to frame the test pattern to align my materials. This is around the 4 minute mark of the video, but there's also import information before that you'll need to watch for successful color marking on 304 stainless steel.
I tried to use the tool to create the color grid with satisfactory results, but when I put the parameters in the layers of any image, the marking comes out all black without showing the colors, as if the lightburn layers were not communicating well the parameters to the controller. is there any solution?
Interesting- Two things to check, 1) is the gavlo lens level to the work surface and 2) is the project material the same as the test material- I've found not all 304 stainless steel marks the same. You can also try posting on the Monport Facebook page where you can include your settings and photos of the results.
do these rust after time? is there a way to color mark/engrave without affecting corrosion resistance on stainless steel?
The only color I heard of rusting over time on Stainless Steel is Black- I haven't experience rust on any of my color marking including black. Most of my outdoor plaques are stainless steel.
