      Pull your spray nozzle off and soak it in thinner and replace it. After you're done spraying a rattle can, hold it upside down and spray it a couple quick blasts( psh psh ) till you stop seeing paint. Use small bursts it cleans out the tip. Don't over do it as the can only has so much pressure but it helps keep it from clogging.

    It's a great way to get some quick terrain on the board especially for new players trying to get set up.
    I remember when I was a kid I took a walk to my nearest B&Q with some pocket money, got a 2'x4' sheet of polystyrene (discounted because it was a bit tatty/damaged), a bunch of tester paint pots out of a sale bin.
    Then with a bunch of toilet roll tubes, food tins and other junk out of my mums dustbin, I put in a solid evening of work and had enough hills and scatter terrain to populate a 4'x4' board.
    And that terrain got some serious use until it was slowly replaced by stuff I made with more care later down the line.

      I'm all about trying to get people to start, and I think just showing how easily and quickly you can get things done is a key part of that. Sure, it's not amazing but it will do!

      To prevent “nozzle bung,” when you finish spraying always turn the can upside down and press the nozzle on a hard surface The resulting spray will clear the nozzle You need to spray like this until the spray comes out fast and wide as normal Probably no more than three seconds

  • @BoWhitten
    @BoWhitten Před 4 lety +3

    Spay paint issue is caused by buildup on the nozzle. Use a cotton swab (or hard brush) and alcohol or acetone to clean the opening. Start with alcohol (always good advice! LOL) in case the nozzle is harmed by acetone. You may also need to use a needle to open the end hole (try not to enlarge it) by picking at it. Or alcohol soak of the cap its self and compressed air from the can side.
    Or, toss it and get a new one! LOL
    To avoid it in the future invert the can, spray a small amount of "air" out of the can, then use an alcohol wipe on it to keep buildup from blocking the hole.

    As a major note, for that kind of terrain piece, metal isn't the best option. That type of pipe actually looks more like the cement ones in form, so a light grey followed by a darker washes works well for them, and largely paint them before gluing them together...and end with a little bit more of a wash at the join parts...

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah I don't disagree, I think I saw Gamza's video and didn't really like the look. I think just rusted brown is okay in this instance but I do think grey is cool.
      I do agree with paint before assembly, I was cutting corners :)

    • @AzraelThanatos
      @AzraelThanatos Před 4 lety +2

      @@TerrainMadeEasy If you want a really cheap way to upgrade the pipes beyond just paint, take a strip of cereal box card stock and put it around each end of the tubes, the end result looks a lot more like pipes of any kind.
      Also, slight offsets on the pipes can add to the look of the end piece by not having them perfectly stacked.

    Cut small sheets of paper towel with no design on them to fit around the individual rolls, spray the toilet paper rolls with spray adhesive, attach the paper towel to the roll. Gives texture, hides the spiral in the roll, takes virtually no time to attach, hide the seam lines the same way you did in the video and hit with a light coat of primer so as to not destroy the texture or reveal the underlying spiral.

  • @NonSleeper_Occasional_Thinker

    Ok the pipes try this. Get 3 rattle cans. Prime with red oxide primer. Then with flat black from angle below horizontal very lightly spray and try to get shadow areas. Then from above at 45 degrees and about 45 to 60 cm spray your grey or silver. Less is more with the last 2 colors. Then a wash with a dark earth shade in recesses and streaks on lower two pipes and finish with super light orange dry brush where needed and dry brush base. The rattle cans are in effect being poor man's air brush and dry fast if you do light coats. Thanks for great videos cheers from Canada!

    please don't record yourself talking into the camera when you make a crafting video. just record yourself crafting and talk over it from the background.
    i personally get tired of skipping the parts of you talking into the camera which breaks the flow of the video.
    your crafting is great. results are awesome. your talking... meh

      So this was an editorial decision. And if you watch any other video you will find I normally do talking over pre-recorded footage, but as this was more of a challenge and I wasn't sure what would happen, I wanted it to feel more "as we get on".
      Could I ask for a bit more of what you mean by flow, so when I am talking I am not doing the terrain you mean? I can try and improve it for this style of video as I will be doing more (this is my most popular video in terms of views). So I'd be looking to improve upon anything for this style of video.
      Most videos will remain as voice overs though.

      Where are you from? I thought both trash and garbage were mainly American? In the uk we'd more likely call it Rubbish, but it doesn't sound as good!

      Potato=Patato. No matter how you say it. It is still Garbage. I even tried to watch a second video and lasted less than 1 minute. Sorry but Garbage. Even in Canada we still call it garbage, trash and rubbish. Sorry
