Nice vid cheers . Bathurst winning 05* .. That car 05 became John Harvey’s 25 car for Bathurst in September later in the year , when Brock and Perkins jumped onboard . Memories 👌
When you consider that he almost lost it and got t-boned by Hansford on the opening lap, and that he didn't take the lead until lap 2, it was a hell of an effort by Brocky in these conditions to lap the field in a 35 lap race. I often wondered how George Fury really felt about Nissan missing this round. Even if he didn't beat Moffat he only needed to finish within a couple of places of him to win the ATCC. His best chance at the title was taken away from him really. And with the field that was there plus the conditions, Fury would have easily gained enough points to win the championship.
What a load of shit. Brock owed a lot of his success during the HDT era to CAMS leaking regulation changes to Holden (before they were made available to other teams) so changes to the production Toranas and Commodores could be made that made them faster but still fit within the rule book. This is all on the public record thanks to an open letter to CAMS written by Alan Moffat. Plus all the start race in one car, finish in another car rubbish. Plus by 1983 CAMS were tinkering with parity mid-season and by that time Brock had huge influence and used it to push the Holden agenda, as alluded to in this video when Will Hagon mentions how Brock was speaking about the Mazda. After the Group C years Brock only won Bathurst once, after another car swap mid race. Post Group C his record was inferior to his old co-drivers, Jim Richards and Larry Perkins. The only thing Peter Brock was king of was self promotion.
Hi, I'm a student filmmaker from Brisbane. I'm currently making a short documentary about Lakeside Raceway, and I'd like to use parts of this video in the film. Who might I need to contact and how might I contact them to discuss getting permission to use this footage?
Brock always had the best team the most money , look at the Oran park round that year Moffat passes Brock on the dogleg I've never seen that. Also when Moffat brought the Rx7 to Australia , Brock drove it and said Moffat will never win races in it 😊.

Good to see Dad in the good old RX3 racing. He picked Qld touring car champion that year!.
That's awesome mate. My old man raced Geminis around that time. He would of raced in that meeting.
Professionals all round!
Never late in a 308. Brock showing his clear superiority in rubbish conditions lapping the ENTIRE field. The KING.
pfffffff when it breaks he gets into another 1
@@351clevelandmodifiedmotor4 Yep, blank cheque Brock.

Footage is from the ABC
When it came down to it Moffat was a far superior driver to Brock.
No!
