bianca letz I feel you. My situation is 10 times more complicated though. My dad was trash to my mom, and the only fatherly figure I know it was my step dad. Knew him at 9 and attached at him. My mom left him (dkwhy), and now he’s with another woman. I don’t have the guts to contact him, but he’s the only adult in my life that I’ve been close to. I remember telling him to leave the shoes at the door, I remember take care of him when he broke his foot, I remember cooking for and with him for the family, traveling most weekends, and all those cozy nights where we all would cuddle in their bed to watch a movie or tell stories. And he’s and another country too.
Just go and tell him that you really love him... now is the time, we don’t know if we have tomorrow

I miss home - I miss my mom and dad - there is no “home” anymore. They are gone. My home is now “ home” for my kids and grandkids. Life goes too fast, but memories last forever😪
I know I'm in the same position. Lost both parents too young esp mum. Also have my four and grandchildren. I would live in the same village if I could.
MusicSoulKing. yes, I grew up about 3 hours drive from where I live now, but there is no reason to go home anymore - I’m so sad. We would go home every holiday and lots of weekends and stay with my parents. Too hard to think about😪

My home is my old school when i was little, oh the endless memories i had in elementary, i would do anything to go back to my fun happy childhood, where i didnt have to worry about being sad all the time, losing friends, getting heartbroken. I didn't have to worry or stress about doing bad on the finals that last week before Christmas break, all we did was watch Christmas movies, have parties, go to school in our pajamas while watching the polar express. We even had these little Christmas lunches where students could bring a parent to lunch and they would eat with you at school. But how at lunch i sit alone too nervous to make a friend. Home is my whole childhood.
