- Around 60 trucks carrying relief supplies have arrived in the north of the Gaza Strip, where Israel's military has focused its actions against the Islamist militant group Hamas. It's the largest delivery there since the war began.
And Israel has released the second of four groups of Palestinian prisoners under its agreement with Hamas. The detainees were handed to the International Committee of the Red Cross at the Ofer Jail amid heavy Israeli police presence.
DW spoke with Palestinian journalist Hazem Balousha about what the release of Palestinian prisoners means for Hamas' standing among Palestinians, and how popular Hamas is in the Palestinian Territories.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Yes, they absolutely do.
So? were they supposed to support Israel?
@@hajjimubarak No you fool, they could stay neutral. Mosab Hassan Yousef is a Palestinian who is the son of one of the leading founders of Hamas. 1:50 cars dont just explode..
Car explosions can be caused by a variety of accidents or malfunctions. Here are some common scenarios:
Fuel Leaks: If there's a leak in the fuel system and the fuel comes into contact with a spark or high heat, it can ignite, leading to an explosion.
Faulty Battery: A car battery can explode due to overcharging, internal short-circuiting, or damage. Battery explosions are dangerous because they can release toxic gases and cause a fire.
Engine Overheating: An overheated engine can cause the oil and other fluids to ignite, especially if there's a leak or if the engine is severely damaged.
Crash Impact: In a severe crash, the fuel lines or tank might rupture, and the sparks generated from the impact can ignite the fuel.
Electrical Failures: Faulty wiring or electrical failures can create sparks that might ignite leaking fluids or gases.
Improper Maintenance: Poorly maintained vehicles are at a higher risk, especially if there are undetected leaks or damaged parts.
Arson or Deliberate Acts: Unfortunately, some car explosions are the result of deliberate acts of vandalism or arson.
Compressed Gas Cylinders: Cars that run on compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) can explode if their cylinders are damaged or improperly installed.
Yes, they do.

They are indoctrinated from pre-school age.
Well, we know that it’s relatively popular because a near 20,000 or so guys can’t control 2.1 million people for 20 years. Just doesn’t work that way. There’s a large degree of acquiescence and/or agreement with the charger from 1988 which spells it all out pretty clearly.
Very possible taking into consideration majority are kids, children not adults.
Why don't they hold elections? 2006 was 27 years ago - how many people in Gaza never voted for Hamas?

Median age of 19/20 means majority are adults. Moreover, the population has more than doubled in just 50 years. That’s quite some thing. Question: Do ants support an anthill?
Can we do a side-by-side comparison of those released and for what crimes they were arrested?
Nice way to put the key question
The Palestinians deserve a better leadership that prefers peace over revenge. Revenge for the Nakba (the 1947-48 war in which both sides weren't flawless). Almost no nation is seeking for revenge (though many have suffered from others in the last century). Revenge always leads to more war. Peace is about forgiveness, compromise and future.
But what will u do if u r being oppressed and your lands is taken bits by bits, home by home, and pushed to leave your country?
A survey shows that dissatisfaction against Hamas among Gazans . How ever that might have change . While dissatisfaction against PA was growing in west bank mainly because of settler violence . I think this hostage deal could increase the popularity of Hamas among people in west bank .
They could already have their own country if they had not refused every peace attempt in the past (including the Oslo and Camp David peace talks in the 90s and 00s). They also never offered an alternative peace proposal. @@hlmk1329
The 1988 charter of Hamasss spells it all out what they want and what they are about. And they can’t be too tiny of a number because something like 20 or 30,000 cannot control 2 million people for 20 years. Doesn’t work that way. They must have way more than that in agreement with them.
Religious fanatics always seem to seek revenge though. Not very familiar in with the conflicts in that part of the world, are you?
Great....that creature is back on the streets again. Wonder how long until we all end up paying big for this?
Of course they do
The Palestinians of Gaza have reelected Hamas multiple times since the 1990's.
Hamas is plenty popular with Palestinians.

They such an odd race🫣
They do, they are bystanders and enablers of their actions.
If Germany after the war can rebuild the country and become the most powerful economically, I have every confidence that Gazans, after Hamas is gone, can do the same. It just needs a little twist in their thinking.
😂😂 your media has successfully twisted your minds and made you think that h@amas is the problem.
Give me the name of one nation that did thrive while under ruthless occupation ?!
It is not reasonable for Palestinians to support someone who has been the cause of so many deaths and to be deprived of loved ones and goods that they would not have been deprived of ,if this organization didn't exist
Yeah. That's why It is very hard for Palestinian to coexist with Israel and vice versa. They find each other is the cause of their misery.
Dude. U see what’s happening at west bank where hamas doesn’t exist? The settlers can take lands all they want and hurt and kill without repercussions. And thats where Palestinian Authorities recognize Israel as a state. Imagine if hamas doesn’t exist, gaza will be overrun by settlers.
The more hardship the average Palestinian faces, the more extreme his beliefs will become, leading him to support even more extreme groups causing Israel to respond with ever increasing force. It’s a depressing feedback loop.
If you switch Palestinian to Israeli, your statement still hold.
You're right, that's why they don't support Israel. Or the IDF. Or anyone else who pushed them from their lands over religious fanaticism.
