MIN. K.G KENYE CLARIFIES CONTROVERSY ERUPTED ON ENPO ISSUE

Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, K. G. Kenye on May 16 while addressing the media at the Secretariat conference hall, informed that the meeting was dwelt on the ENPO issue on their movement to achieve the Frontier Nagaland. The state government has kept the ENPO issue pending as the content of the draft official letter received last October by the Chief minister, pertains to sharing of powers if things unfold as per their aspirations. He also clarified that no quarters have any misunderstandings or misconceptions on the entire process, so they should understand that no adversity remarks have been made by any individuals or organizations ever since the ENPO movement started for a new political entity since 2011. He further said that the latest issue pertains to a draft official letter received from MHA by CM, where controversy erupted questioning the authenticity to that letter where a proposal pertaining certain points that surrounds the demand made by the ENPO to the GOI. On the ENPO decision to abstain the upcoming ULB election, Kenye said we have not been able to conduct the election for more than 2 decades and finally the state has come to a stage after overcoming all hurdles and about to start the process of constituting these councils, why these has to be seen as a means to register the resentment and the purpose for their demands which is already under process in the highest level. Therefore, the government has finally taken a decision that a Political Affairs Committee (PAC) in line with the past several PACs with a more focus and will resolve the Naga Political issue at the earliest possible time.
