  • A little update on agar making. Although not necessary, I like to divide the recipe into 2, so i can add color or nutrients to one and use the other as a control.
    Ingredients:
    -500ml Boiling Water
    -10g Agar Powder
    -15g Light Malt Extract

If you’re getting contams in your cups, try doing less cups at once. Do 5, put lids on, do another 5, put lids on, etc. And don’t lean over them. Bacteria can fall off your arms and sleeves into cups below. Minimize the time the cups are open and exposed and your success rate will go up

Thank you for the feedback and comment, very appreciated. Ideally, I'd like to get a temperature device to see exactly what the agar temp is. I've ran into the issue of having condensation on lids with that method (also tried using hot towel/plate on top to avoid condensation). The method I used in this video is what I found to work best for quantity, but i agree doing less at a time would have more precautions and most likely increase success rate.

Hello sir. Why not use magnetic stirrer. Instead of swirling the botlle..

I have not invested in them in the past. I appreciate the comment, time to invest in a better hotplate and magnetic stirrers!

One more thing. Is it posible to inject liquid culture direct to fruiting bag? Thank you

@@marlonglodo1930 I would say it depends on the culture and what your inoculating. I would not recommend it, I prefer going to grains, then to fruiting substrate. If you are doing BRF cakes it would be fine and probably better than going from spore syringe. Oysters might also get away with it as they are pretty aggressive. Hope this helps!

@@Psych-Efunguy ohh thank you. iam planning to grow volva mushroom in my understanding it is not so sensitive like oyster. And it can gain more profit rather than oyster here in my country..

Hey man I'm a new sub. Like your set up a lot. Hey did you build your flow hood? How good is it, what is the exact filter and blower, and specs of the box? I definitely want to get a flow hood but I'm living on a VERY limited income. I want to start a channel one day showing my journey and I've had the plan of buying one of those grow rooms for all my lab work

Thank you for the support! I did build my flow hood, I built a few actually. I'll do a video to help out, thank you for the suggestion. As for cost, the box is mostly inexpensive, your filter will be your biggest spending, and the blower, although not cheap shouldn't be too bad. Check out @Willy's World on CZcams, I believe he has a video for a very inexpensive build.
