It’s so sad that it’s so difficult for some of us to conceive….Lord please help those of us who are struggling …..There is no other gift or feeling I want right now than to conceive for my hubby!!!!

Any updates did you get pregnant 🙏

It's crazy amazing how your daughter looks like you and your son looks like her husband so sweet
You rock Dr Crawford! I’m a FM Physician and love all your podcasts and CZcams clips. Thanks for all the effort you put into sharing your knowledge. It’s very generous and lovely of you to do this for all of us.
Thank you!!!!! This means so much to me
Thank you Natalie for clarifying all the info on OPK’s, there is so much info out there that over complicates it. So appreciate your help x
Your timing on posting this video is awesome, I just bought my first OPK and have been nervous about starting the process. This video has definitely eased some of my anxiety. 😊
Good luck!!!! Glad it helped
Please where can one buy it from?
@@marianaortiz3027 I agree.
I'm only 5 minutes into this video and i cannot say thank you, This helps me understand how ovulation works very great teaching
So glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!! The instructions say to do in the morning, so I will try in afternoon now! Thank you very informative!
Deleting the app that came with the OPK because it is confusing even though I already watched this video once. So glad to have a resource like you!
i hate reading instruction manuals especially when you're already anxious about testing ovulation. Thanks for the video
Yes get rid of the instructions!!!
Thank you! You are really good at explaining everything!
You're very welcome!
Love your channel . You exude good vibes and kindness . I like the sound of your soft voice too. I’m trying for my second miracle 🤞🏾so I’m watching a lot of your videos . Thank you for educating and helping us women 🙏🙏
I am skinny.i got acne, some hair fall, irreguler period of 35-40 days.i am 19.What medication should i take now to avoid future complication
This is super helpful! Thank you!
I never understood the time of day aspect and my strips recommended testing twice a day during the fertile window… thank you for this awesome explanation!!
Thanks so much for this informational video. I got confused about the time of the day since Clearblue manual says you should test first thing in the morning (which really did not seem right to me).. but your explanation makes much more sense. Anyone else experiencing the same confusion?
Best explanation ever!!!
It is very informative best video on this topic❤️
This is an amazing video that helped me realize the importance and simplicity of OPK use! I got pregnant the 1st cycle I tried and found that my ovulation comes earlier than "normally". Unfortunately, I lost my pregnancy and ttc again and found that Premom app (that never works on my phone) channel advises to keep checking ovulation because there are surges and a peak so it's important to find the real peak, as they say. I'm confused as Dr. Crawford recommends to stop testing after the 1st surge but now I wonder what if it's a surge but not a peak?
Thank you for your amazing and educative videos!
One question. If one takes the test between 10am - 2pm, should one also minimize the liquid intake some hours prior to the test (coffee, tea, water, sodas etc.), as LH can be diluted?
Thanks so much!!! You were so so helpful 💗 You gained a new subscriber in me💪🏽 God bless and I pray this helps me in my pregnancy journey
Love ur videos. Thank you ❤️
So glad!
Hi Natalie, thanks so much for your videos! They are so useful. I’ve bought the digital test and it has the three options; No, High & Peak. For me, a 23-26 day cycle (varies). I had a “No” On day 10 and then a “Peak” on day 11. I’ve been trying for 5 months but using the strip tests and found them hard to read. Is it a concern I had no “High” days? So this would mean for this cycle I ovulate on day 12, correct? As the test notifies you the day before ovulation (or thereabouts?). I also had a miscarriage 3 months ago which I think caused my cycle to be irregular for a few months. Would having a miscarriage naturally/spontaneously change your cycle length or make things harder? I have a healthy baby girl who is 21 months old so I know I can carry to term. Thanks :).
You have a beautiful family doctor, Natalie ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for this video. I’ve been trying to get pregnant for the past couple of months and with no luck so far I’ve decided to try using an OPK. My husband said I’m stressing (which I’m not) I’m just trying to use tools to hopefully make this more successful. I’ve seen and read different things, that it’s ok to use the first urine, that’s it’s not ok, to test around 10 in the morning and also test around 8 at night. So I’ve been testing twice a day. But I’ll use your advice and just do once. It makes me feel better hearing the information come from someone knowledgeable. I died laughing when you chucked the directions 😂
I also saw something that said don’t drink water two hours before the test. And also the opposite that you can but just don’t chug water, it’s all so confusing 😩
And I’m tracking with my app and predicted ovulation is today (Wednesday) but according to you ovulation might happen on Saturday with my 28 day cycle. That’s good to hear and I’m going to continue to test daily. I was starting to get a bit sad thinking it was me but really the app could’ve been wrong. Hopefully it works out this month but if not I feel better tracking my ovulation instead of JUST trusting the app to predict it
Do you think testing twice a day makes a difference, or just once a day in the 10-2 window?? Thanks for the videos!! We’re ttc for the first time so I’m trying to wade through all the info out there lol
Hi Dr Crawford, love your videos and the way you present them. Just a question regarding strip tests. Got a peak (confirmed with digital solid smiley) but 24 hours later got an even stronger peak then day after went back to a negative. I would assume I ovulated between the second peak and the negative? Or would ovulation day be the day after the first peak? Thank you
This was great! Very informative.
Hi Natalie, is the case of a short (21 day cycle) how would you workout the predictive ovulation date, I believe my luteal phase is shorter, is that correct? Thank you for the videos 💛
Thank you! I just started using them...hopefully we get pregnant soon 💕
Good luck!!
I have started my TTC Journey ..waiting to see my ovulation in OPK strips..it will be anytime this week and am crossing my fingers ..
Very veruy nice !!! I like how you talk directly to the center 🤗 and just one more question- is it ok I drink water 1 h before the test ovulation?
Okay so i have irregular periods. I saw a doctor... they said get an ovulation kit... here i am.... the end 😊
Yup that’s what’s obgyn alwqysbsays :( then they say wait 3 months 😢😢😢😢😢
I have PCOS and my doctor told me to use these to test if I’m ovulating and that if they are positive, then I have nothing to worry about and shouldn’t seek out any treatment. Now I’m a bit confused and a little angry at him for refusing a referral to a fertility specialist. Thank you so much for the information!
I m on same boat :/
I use the digital clearblue ovulation tests you described with the blank smile face, flashing smile face (high) and stagnet smile face (peak). Is there a good chance of conception when trying on a high day and then again on a peak day? Or just on both peak days?
I have irregular periods , luckily I never have to track ovulation because I have very obvious signs of ovulation , I get a lot of EWCM , ovulation cramps and bloating , after ovulation my chest gets sore so that’s how I confirm . Works everytime! I’m now pregnant with my second child , both conceived naturally 🙏🏻
love that you get ovulation signs!!
@@NatalieCrawfordMD me too otherwise I’d never be able to predict it hahah
I get the same things but never conceive. Your so lucky.
@@wynonnapeek609 both times I have conceived it was shortly after making lifestyle changes that made me ovulate earlier ! I start doing muscle building exercise 5 times a week, also take vit D and prenatal and I change my diet. I eat whole foods, protein and healthy fats at every meal and cut out processed and refined carbs. I wish u success!
Same. I have 5 children lol
What are your thoughts on the natural supplements Fertile Aide, OvaBoost and Fertile CM by Fairhaven Health? Trying to not stress about it, but I'm pretty sure I have PCOS as my cycles are all over the place since I can remember. Bought these after reading many positive reviews. My husband and I are trying to conceive so before spending tons of money on fertility at our local hospital I thought I'd try getting regular using these. Any product feedback is helpful! We'd love an addition to our life!
Wanted to correct you on something. Not all women with PCOS have elevated LH. There are women with PCOS such as myself who opk’s work just fine, it just may be harder to pin point when to take them with long cycles (unless you’re checking bbt)
This was my question because if I’m getting one surge a month then my lh isn’t running high correct?
Hi Dr. Crawford! Thank you for all the useful information you give us!
One question regarding irregular periods: is it considered if the cycles vary by any number of days? Or is there a minimum variation that makes you think they are irregular? E.g. mine comes every month between 34 and 36 days. Is this considered irregular?
Thanks a lot in advance!
P.S. I'd be very interested in knowing how to spot ovulation based on the cervical mucus and (separately) based on the basal body temperature. Would be great if you could do videos on these topics! Thank you!
Great ideas. Within 1-2 days expected is normal for the period
@@NatalieCrawfordMD thank you! 🙏🏻
Thank you for this video and advocating to talk to your doctor about irregular periods. I’m going through fertility treatments right now due to PCOS. My period has been irregular forever and any time I brought it up to my OB/GYN she said it’s fine, don’t worry some people have irregular periods. I always was frustrated with this answer because all of my friends periods were regular. Whenever I asked if it would effect me having kids I was told “we will talk about that when your ready to have a family” which was again, frustrating. Well fast forward to now, we’ve been trying for a year now with no luck. I am so thankful for our RE for not only a diagnosis of PCOS but answers to the questions I have been asking for years!
OMG I’m so sorry for this experience- so glad you are in good hands now
I am currently going through the same. They put me on medication and are so vague with how this would help me.
Same! It's like they push it aside.
Hello! I'm hoping for a baby soon for you guys! On the same boat except haven't been "diagnosed" with irregular periods. I'm usually due to get my period on the 23rd but usually get it a few days before or sometimes a day or two after that date- is that considered to be irregular?
Dr, i have pcos but i never got positive ovulation results. What should i do?
Hi Dr Crawford! thank you for this. is it possible to have the lh smiley face and ovulate on the same day? i got the smiley face and the day after my bbt was elevated until my next period
Thank you for the information! Can too much liquid consumption before test taking alter the outcome?🙌🏻
Hi. I don't know if you will still see these comments but I have regular but long periods. My cycle (except when I had covid) was 27-29 says but my period is about 9-10 days of that. Do I start the test strips whilst I'm still on my period which would be 5 days before the middle or wait until my period stops? Or is it a bit trial and error and see what happens?
Hello Dr. Natalie. I just came across your Channel and I am learning so much already. Thank you. My cycle length is irregular. Most times it's 28, sometimes 27, 30, 32 etc. I have given birth before and now I am trying again to get pregnant after 6 years but it's not happening. I felt I was so close to getting pregnant this last cycle but still didn't happen. Because during the 2-weeks wait, I was having some symptoms showing that pregnancy was on the way. But I was disappointed when I saw my period, though it came very late.
You mentioned in your video about taking progesterone to support the pregnancy. Can you please throw more light on this? What is the best time to start taking the progesterone?
hey. Hope you are well. Do you have any news? my doctor said to take progesterone after 2 days of the peak
Thank you for this helpful video, do you think it could be something to do about trying to conceive a boy or a girl?
Lovely! I have a question. I've seen several people say take ovulation test 2x a day after getting the first positive. Then, stopping after you get another negative. Do you recommend this method? If so, what additional time of day should we test ovulation?
Hi doctor! Question….I got diagnosed with PCOS but thankfully my cycles are regular but the doctor has me on metformin anyways. I got a positive ovulation test yesterday on day 15 and my cycles are 30 days. Is it normal that by day 16 the ovulation test is negative? I got two negatives this morning when I tested.
Thank you for all the great info!
Hello! Thank you for your channel! I’ve subscribed and it’s so very helpful! I do have a question, learning so much about fertility is amazing, and we have been TTC for 3 months. The last two months I’ve been tracking with LH. I’m curious why the clear blue OPK gave me a positive (solid smiley) on a Saturday, EWCM too, but the easy@home was still “low” on that Saturday, then that following Wednesday (4 days later) the easy@home was “lh high” and I wasn’t able to test with the clear blue due to it “locking me out” because it was too close in time from the initial pos reading on Saturday.
I just find this situation odd. None the less, we baby danced daily during all of this.
So amazing
Thanks 😊
PLEASE HELP, in the video you mention that your first positive opk is the one you use to calculate after a certain amount of hours you will then ovulate. Brands like premom say finding your highest OPK, such as a dice stealer would be the time you then calculate to find your ovulation. WHICH ONE IS IT?
After dipping it, where should I keep the strip? Should it be vertical or horizontal? Also, can it be put back into the plastic cover it came with, or should it be left in the open?
Thanks.
When using the 3 option test, What does it mean when you go from low to peak and skip that high window?
I have 2 questions, hopefully you see this! 🤞🏻 1) with strip OPK tests. The instructions say to hold it in the pee for 5 seconds. Do I discard the instructions and just dip? And 2) if you should test twice a day, what is the other time frame your should test in? Or should the tests only ever been taken between the 10am- 2pm window? Thank you! Also, great video!

Hello! I'm hoping for a baby soon for you guys! On the same boat except haven't been "diagnosed" with irregular periods. I'm usually due to get my period on the 23rd but usually get it a few days before or sometimes a day or two after that date- is that considered to be irregular? Thank you.. i’m enjoying your videos the mor4e i watch them.. This video helps me a lot to understand why my OPK is low at 7pm from 1230pm today.. also something odd happen, J felt sick today with some diarrhea, and I was tracking my OPK am not supposed to ovulate until 6-8 of march.. my period is 3dys long and finished about 3days ago.. I got 1.42 positive on my OPK.. this is the first i’ve notice this.. is this unusual to be OPK positive so soon.. I also wonder why I did not conceive last month if my OPK was ghat early.. is it different each month.. I was so pmsing the first week before ovulation and was so surprise I got a negative HCG on 13dpo.. please help me understand my body.. am 39
I'm pretty sure I'm in perimenopause, since I am 41, and have very irregular periods (every 14-30 days, and everything in between). Out of curiosity, I checked my LH "surge," the last 3 months, and have not ovulated for any of those months, according to the test (I checked for weeks on end, multiple times per day). Shouldn't LH be elevating in perimenopause? Mine looks like it's non-existent (the line is basically zilch, lol) My FSH is already slightly elevated.
If I get a lh surge peak day every month does that mean I am ovulating? And what is the range of lh peak that is normal to get ?
Thanks for the video. I got the low fertility on my day 13, not sure why?
Hi!! Would you consider 28-32 day cycle regular or irregular??
well that answers a lot ! i was doing FMU. 😅 interesting 🧐
I just got my LH surge at day 10 😵💫 I’ve been tracking since day 4, my cycles are short, around 25-27 days
If I just started taking levothyroxine for hypothyroidism will that change my ovulation, I’ve alway had a period every month?
Because my face on my test has been flashing for 4 days!
I just got my mirena removed and during the first month I was getting faint second lines. No positive opk. After my period I started testing again on CD 8 I’m now on CD 15 and I haven’t gotten a second line AT ALL not even a faint one (the dip tests) am I testing wrong?
I have been using daily and yesterday was high but not quite the same darkness as the control but then today it was low again did I miss my peak by waiting 24 hrs to test again ? Or was it not my peak
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I got my birth control taken out June 4th... I was worried my period wouldn't come back and be normal I guess u would say... Well, it came when it was suppose to but idk about ovulation. I had the nexplanon bar and heard a lot of people had issues after removal. I've been testing since the last day of my period because I don't know if I will ovulate when my app says. Any advice?
I used the expensive one that measures estrogen and honestly it was just confusing, it's not worth the money. I did end up getting pregnant mostly buy luck. This time I am using the little strip ones and they are perfect.
Loved ur video❤❤ would u mind suggesting best gynaecologist in Atlanta. Any help would be appreciated 😊😊
So I’ve been testing for months and it has just occurred to me that you don’t have to hold the test and pay until the whole entire thing is full it doesn’t affect it I’m still getting readings it’s not reading that it’s broken or miss used or whatever but I’m just curious if that affects it
I had a chemical pregnancy 3 months ago I ovulated last cycle at CD 28, it was my first time tracking my ovulation got my AF on cd 40 this cycle I have been testing since I stopped my period because I’m not really sure when I ovulated. I got pink tinge in my CM at CD23 I was also crampy this day had pink tinge the next day as well but still no positive opks. Yesterday at CD31 I still got negative opks, my digital clear blue advanced was negative as well, my strip was darker but negative. Then today cd32 I tested and my opk strip was dark and my digital had a static smiley face. Is it ok if I didn’t get the flashy smiley face and it went straight to static smiley face? Is it ok to ovulate this late? Do I still have a chance at getting pregnant. Any advice would be super helpful, thank you!
My daughter is 15 months we hope to give her a sibling.
Is it true that not everyone ovulate the day after their LH surge? If so, is it risky to use LH tests to plan the transfer date in a natural cycle FET?
If you had a trigger shot do you still do opk? Or with the trigger shot will automatically give you a positive opk because of the hcg?
I’m struggling because I don’t know if my cycles are regular. I’ve lost 70+ lbs and things are starting to normalize. My cycles were 45-90 days. Now that I’ve lost weight my cycles have been shortening. My last cycle was 38 days, this cycle looks like it will also be around 37 days. I know I just need to be patient. I’m still young but inpatient.
The doctor I saw didn’t listen to me or about my concerns about not ovulating. He told me the proof is in the pudding. Oh and he’s the chief of the ob/gyn staff at the hospital. 🤦🏼♀️
So today my tracker log says ovulation day would likely be today but i took an ovulation test today. Both lines were visible but the test line was lighter than the control line. I assume that means its not high enough and might be by tomorrow? Should I test again tomorrow?
I got a peak opk on the last day my peiod i only spot like 1 time that day then then 6 days later i got another peak opk so was the first one right and i done ovulated or am i ovulateing again or was the firat one right and the second postive is just picking up a pregnancy
So I usually test at 12pm however I do a rotation to night shift 2 months out of the year which I start Friday, I’m ok testing now but next month how do I do my OPK if I’m sleeping at 12pm? I usually wake at 3pm can I test them or what should I do?
Hi. Does the app work with other brand test strip?
So once the brains signals the body to make LH and filters through the liver and makes it to your urine will the LH continue to rise, thus giving a consistent darker line until ovulation, Or does it reset day after day?
Im approx 4 days to ovulation - the line on my OPK is darkening but only at 5pm onward. At 10am...super faint.
Question, so I’ve been doing this whole thing wrong. I got a positive with my first urine and a peak that evening. Didn’t test the night before so does that mean I probably got the surge the night before and just didn’t know?
I know you say to stop after the first positive LH surge... but if I keep checking every 12 hours, the line will get darker over the next day and peak before it starts to decline. So is the first positive test my peak, or is the peak the darker line a day or so later? I use strips that come with an app that measures the intensity of the pigmentation of the line to try to give a more accurate reading.
No no no. After the first peak it is just about how fast you metabolize it - it stays in your blood/urine - please only first peak is what matters
@@NatalieCrawfordMD wowww so helpful THANK YOU!!!
Using these so I can see when I ovulate and not have sex during those times or use more protection. I don’t want kids and I was curious to how to use these. Thank you!
Lol smart
I got the clearblue digital ovulation test and its got me so confused! I have a regular 28 day cycle! I tested every morning and the tests said low everyday until cycle day 18 had smile face for peak! With everyone always talking about 28 day cycle being day 14 ovulation day should I be concerned!
I had a miscarriage on April 1st had a D&C and I got my period on on may 7th. Started tracking my ovulation on day 10th of my cycle. My period app predicted that I would ovulate on day 15th of my cycle. I had sex on day 12th and 13th of my cycle and sure enough i measured my temperature and it went up then I took a ovulation test and I had a positive LH surge on day 14th just like the app said. I’ve never had such and accurate prediction before. My husband and I are hoping for our rainbow baby
I had a positive about a week ago and had EWCM. I have started having EWCM again. Is this normal or was my ovulation delayed?
I’ve been trying to conceive for months. My periods are irregular so I contacted my doctor a few months ago and she told me that it’s normal to have irregular periods. She recommended I use OPKs. Still not pregnant though. She wants me to wait a year and I’m in my 30s.
Does LH peak matter on the strip dip tests?
So as a pcos patient if I’m testing lh surge and your noticing one surge a month does that mean it’s still false along with other symptoms
Dr. Crawford.. I had my first positive ever LH test Friday morning. I continued to test even though I probably shouldnt have. Anyway I am now testing out my trigger. I'm guessing I would have ovulated 24 -36 hrs after my first positive opk, correct?
Hiii ... please do reply...I have a regular period cycle....my ovulation tests were negative from day 13 to 19 ....on 19th cycle night and on 20th cycle day my ovulation was a bit dark ...not more darker...and in the night of 20th cycle day only it became lightest....there wasn't any positive line.... what should I do now....I want to conceive a baby boy... please help 🙏🙏
31 days cycle. Peak fertility on CD 21, so considering 24 hours, I might ovulate on 21st or 22nd day, is it too late?? Heard late ovulation might be a problem..please help
Great video! Can you have regular periods and still not get that thick line on the test between days 10 and 16 signaling ovulation?
If you have regular periods, would you definitely be ovulating ?
Thanks so much!
Yes, woman who have regular periods don’t always ovulate every month.
I know this sounds dumb, but which way do you hold the test to read it? I got the digital ones, but I think it's defective because the 1st line is lighter than the second line, which I thought was negative. But, the smile face is always flashing. So, what the heck.
This was the most informative information I have seen, I'm so happy I found you....I have been tracking my ovulation and its so funny because everything you said makes sense and is spot on to me.........we are shooting for a baby and all this put me in so must ease, thank you
@@jaysonwells1079 the hell?…..
Great video. Thank you.
It it start having sex every day at the same time as I would start testing with the OPK than the main benefit of the OPK is just to make sure that I know the time of ovulation and when to stop? Or should I wait for a positive and that have sex the day of a positive and the day after?
Have you heard of the Ava bracelet? Do you have thoughts? Is the data it tracks useful for fertility doctors?
Nothing it tracks is useful to us, some people like it but all that info can easily be obtained with cheaper options
Hiii I got my peak on the 20th of this month and then 22nd was negative not the next day but day after I got high again and it's been high for 7 days now , is this normal ? I've already hit my peak this month had 5 high days before my peak and now 7 high days I'm so confused 😩
Hello Doctor!!! I have a question.... I have baby girl of 9 years already want to conceive with baby boy. Can you suggest when to try after getting peak positive ovulation test???
Thank you 😊
Hi I really appreciate your videos. I would be very interested in a video about breastfeeding and trying to conceive and the science of hormones in that area. Thanks for being an advocate for womens' reproductive health
I would appreciate that video to. 🤗
I think that saying irregular cycle = go see your doctor, is a very broad statement. I have Irregular cycles but the change is of a few days 🙄 this is just a stressful message (and yes I am followed by a fertility doctor, had my eggs checked this year, very high reserve although I am 30, AMH is high, but multifollicular ovaries). My doctor told me Tu use OPK when I will be looking for a baby.
Anyway, very informative video! I subscribe, as I am anyway concerned about my ability to conceive
So my daughter is struggling to get pregnant and I got her the digital prediction test that shows the blank the smile face and the happy for peak. She tested the first day 5 days before she should have ovulated and got the blank the next day she got the smile it's been 6 days and every day it's been the same smile. Is she not getting the LH surge?
