- Join us in this captivating video as we bring you an up-close look at the remarkable Chance-Vought F4U-5NL Corsair “Devotion.” Witness the awe-inspiring sequence of events as this historic aircraft roars to life, unfolds its wings, takes to the skies, performs a stunning aerial display, and gracefully lands back on the runway.
What sets this Corsair apart is its verifiable and storied history. Known by its serial number #124541, this aircraft's journey is meticulously documented through its "History Card" (Curriculum Vitae or CV), a rare and precious record often lost for many Navy and Marine aircraft.
According to its history card, #124541 served with the renowned “VMF-513” squadron over Korea, famously dubbed the “Flying Nightmares.” This history was later shared with MaxAlpha Aviation by the son of former operational pilot Al Sadeski.
After spending 25 years in an Argentinian museum, #124541 was sold in 1991 and transported to Le Castellet, France, in 1994, where it underwent a meticulous restoration. This restoration transformed the F4U-5 into an F4U-7 to represent an aircraft of the French Navy, the Aéronavale. Renamed F-AZYS and flown by former Aéronavale Corsair pilot Ramon Josa, the aircraft became a popular sight at various airshows.
In December 2009, MaxAlpha Aviation GmbH acquired F-AZYS, and on December 2nd, Ramon Josa piloted it to its new home at Bremgarten (EDTG). The aircraft, now featuring the nose art “Cielito,” participated in many events, including the prestigious “Flying Legends” airshow in Duxford. Discovering its unique history, MeierMotors restored it to its original F4U-5 condition and repainted it in its authentic colors, with the registration D-FCOR.
In November 2023, Flying Legends GmbH added this extraordinary Corsair to their collection. Now stationed at Siegerland Airport, the D-FCOR continues to be a cherished part of the Flying Legends fleet.

The F-4U & the P-38 were my favorite war birds....Beautiful plane...!
Plus the heavy weight champ P 47.👍🏻🇺🇸
I remember this magnificent airplane back in 1945, when I was 14 years old. It was simply wonderful to see my favorite airplane fly again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made me very happy.
Im glad I made you happy
This has been and will always be my favorite aircraft. Jets are cool, but this is history and simply beautiful.
I prefer the Bf109
@@Warbirds Well, I prefer the 190, so there! Enjoyed the vid.
The best Navy fighter flown by Marines too. It is simply beautiful to watch in flight.
Ty
One of the prettiest flying machines ever made! What a smooth landing too!
Thank you ! Hope you subscribed
Amazing work to get her back in the air. Thank you for saving a beautiful aircraft...
I made a model of a F4U-5 years ago. Then I got the chance to sit in one at Oshkosh. Unforgettable. Those things were superprops
I didn’t sit in but would be awesome or course
When I was a kid, circa 1950, I would watch the Corsair's practice dive bombing a barge on the horizon on the western end of Lake Erie. Those Corsair's were out of the Grosse Ile Naval Air Station. Memories.
Thanks for the Story. Enjoyed
When I was a boy my uncle piloted the F4 phantom in Vietnam, I was in awe, I'm bias but this airplane was a great design and one of our great assets. God bless the United States of America🇺🇸
I watched this tv series with when I was a child
You playing DCS yet? F-4E came out a month ago and it is wonderful.
Was going to mention the dcs sim. If your uncle is still with us you should definitely at least show him some of the f4 content on CZcams
The Corsair is my all-time favorite prop-driven airplane and the F-4 Phantom is my all-time favorite fighter jet.
Please forward my thanks to your uncle for his service.
What a beauty and beast. Great pilot.
He will like your comment
Ever since I was a kid, this airplane has always been one of the coolest looking ones to me, one of my absolute favorites. Beautiful airplane, very nice, thanks for sharing.
Thanks liking this warbird was also my first model which I built from revell
@@Warbirds I built one also. Model, that is. Way back when.
@@BruceMusto yes when i watched this TV Series Black Sheep Squadron
I’ve always loved the deep-throaty growl WWII planes made, especially the B-17 and the Corsair.
Living near an airport, and when I hear that sound, I stop whatever I’m doing to run outside and look for the plane, and am always rewarded with a WWII plane. They bring a smile to my face and a prayer of thanks to all members of our military, especially for the greatest generation and my dad who served in the Navy in the pacific during that time.
Wow lucky guy. Here at my house you won’t hear and see many warbirds passing . But I visit them
Absolutely gorgeous. My all time favorite.
Glad you enjoyed
When it made its initial low-level pass, for a brief instant I was taken back in time to when I was a kid and would watch Black Sheep Squadron on Saturday mornings with Robert Conrad as Pappy Boyington. The theme music was in my head.
It was a beautiful bird to watch then, and just as magnificent, or maybe even more so, now. There's one hanging from the ceiling in the Museum of the Marine Corp at Quantico. You don't appreciate its size until you lay eyes on it. Great, great bird.
Same here mate
Now that is a fighter. Absolutely love the color. She is a beaut. Thanks for the video
Thanks liking
Awesome restoration, thank you to everyone who made this happen for a true warrior of the skies. Lovely flight maneuvers.
man, the size of these things are cool. you some times just never expect how big they are when you see old footage or something till someone is standing next to them. im currently watching an older man who made a mini one of these and he's gotten to the point of taxing down the runway. soon to be on first flight.
Yes this bird is so huge
What a beautiful sounding bird! So happy y’all put her back in line to be useful
Glad you like it
Sweet display, no music, just plane goodness
Glad you liked it.
Amazing bird👍🏻🙂
Yes i like it
Flies like a dream.
First class, well done!
Glad you liked it!
Best Show Act on Sunday was the Corsair F4U & Mustang P51 - Great 👌🤠 thanx for the Team 🍻 Top 🤩💪and many thanks !!! for this Video ☝️🌞
Glad you enjoyed
WONDERFUL video, with soundtrack provided by the Subject.
Kudos to you!!
Enjoyed
For a while I thought I was watching an RC plane with how it was leaving a trail of smoke, but no mistaking it for an RC with how it flew. I have a small one, 60" or so span with a 3 cylinder Radial in it, has yet to fly, but looks great. Modeled after the first generation F4U with 3 blade prop and 3 color paint scheme.
It’s the real deal thanks liking
Man, cannon equipped. Pretty rare even something so rare already.
Thank you so much from Amsterdam. What a beast!
Greetings and ty from Germany
Nothing tops that! That old girl can really sing.
Oh yes
Magnificence.
Ty❤
What an absolutely beautiful, graceful, amazing piece of history. Thanks for the video. 😎
glad you enjoyed
More than any other WW2 fighter the F4U Corsair looks like it wants to kill somebody.
So mean yes
Didn't want too it had too.
It was definitely built to kill the enemy!
I love the Corsair! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic.
Ty
geiles Viedo! Vielen Dank!
I tell you what would be neet as hell, seeing the Corsair land on one of our modern carriers. The flight deck crew would go freeking nuts. You can't beat NavAir !!!
wow thats would be project
Wonderful engineering and design.
Ty
Work of art
Thank you 🙏
❤ BEAUTIFUL
Ty
Awesome ! The sound of those engines was panic button to the enemy troops.
Of course.
Hands down, my favorite war bird of all time.
Glad you liked
Puuurfection
Glad you liked
Yes, a weapon of a terrible war, but a beautiful flying machine
Awesome 😎
Nothing sounds as pleasing as a purring R-2800
Double Wasp
It got the job done
which job ?
Wonderful🥰♥superb plane
Thanks watching
I love the Corsair, I have the RC and other war birds, the Corsair is the hardest one too fly, but an amazing plane.
That’s the real deal . Toys for the rich
One of the very best American war birds of WW2 without a doubt.
True
Was ein großartiges Flugzeug
Wieder sehr gut gefilmt viel besser als meine Handy Videos 😅
War dieses Jahr auch selber wieder dabei absolut mega coole airshow
Danke. Ja mit dem Handy geht sowas nicht . Ich war leider nur einen Tag dabei
👍🏻
Fantastic bird - great to see her flying again 😋
On a side note, is that a FWP149 @7:54 ?
Yes this Fw149 made me very nervous when filming the approach. Decided to be safe than sorry but messed up the landing
Awesome war bird scene shattered by wandering Cessna...
true
The sheer size of the prop!
Right in front of it it’s even bigger
Very best, as fastest, of the Corsair’s. 470mph at altitude.
1:30 Dude finds out pitot tubes are heated 😂. Anyway, amazing beautiful bird, piece of art!!
😜
Devotion is a good book
And good movie
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Flying Leathernecks. Twin wasp. American muscle.
American muscle
I remember when i first took off in a f4u in war thunder. I made the mistake of retraction the flaps at the same time as my landing gear like many real life first time pilots and stalled it into the end of the runway.
Never played it yet . Is it any good ?
What an amazing work of art. It's like a vintage race car with a 10ft long hood. Sexy Beast!
Oh yes ! Ty liking
Whiskey Foxtrot! Flying Nightmares forever. But it's not a real Dash 5 [N] without the starboard radome. I know, I know, it causes asymmetric drag, but it would be so much more authentic.
"If it looks right, it is right.”
Oh yes
👍
👉
It was the only propeller driven aircraft to shoot down a a jet MiG in Korea
Yes I saw the movie
Well, there were actually two propeller driven aircraft that shot down a MiG-15 during the Korean War.
Lt. Peter "Hoagy" Carmichael (Hawker Sea Fury) shot down a MiG-15 on August 8, 1952.
Capt. Jesse Folmar (Vought F4U-4B Corsair) shot down a MiG-15 on September 10, 1952.
Bellissimo aereo, fascino d'altri tempi!
Gracie
DAYUM!!! that’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout!!!! Thanks!!!

ja warst Du da ?
@@Warbirds Eine tolle Veranstaltung...kommen noch Videos von der Mustang und den Thunder Yaks?
@@florianpusch ja
I think I heard the whistle.
Which minute ?
There probably aren't many pilots left who can pilot these machines. Can you please tell me if they are passing on their skills to younger generations of pilots to keep this legacy alive?
I only know few young pilots that are learning to fly those machines .
@@Warbirds Well, that's good too. Thanks to channels like yours, I hope there will be more of them. ❤🛩
When in good hands, he was Zero's executioner
This one was a war survivor
Whistling death.
yes !
Can anyone tell me the bureau number of this particular Corsair?
D-FCOR
That's not the bureau number, it's the registration.
The reason l ask is because my dad may have flown it. He flew 14 different 5Ns beginning with 121915 to 124714. All of VC3 squadron USS Boxer. I believe one at least survives. 124486 in Springfield, Ohio at the Air Combat. Museum. Thanks for any replies.
Serial no. is 124541.
Thanks je9. Will check his flight log.
The only good thing about WW2 was the beautiful airframes and engineering.
True
Why is this F4U such a dark colour scheme ??
It’s a night fighter
Aerofly FS sim if you wanna fly one but can’t afford the real thing😊
LOL no MsFs2020
Too bad the movie stunk.
Still getting better
With the UV what it is today we cannot believe you painted such a sweet bird the satin black Trendy look ..Nasty as all hell tasteless & trendy
Like an AMG
War is an awful thing, but my God, it spawned some magnificent airplanes.
So great ones
Hubbba hubbba
